Historical Nubia
We really enjoyed our private tour. We had Hemd as our guide and he was so easy going and knowledgeable. It felt like he knew everyone in the village which made it even more enjoyable. We also enjoyed the Felucca ride, we did a sunset one and the timing was perfect. Hemd is so knowledgeable on historical Nubia and we felt like we had a deeper understanding of the area after our time with him.

Perfecto!
Perfecto organizado, el pueblo Nubio ha sido una experiencia auténtica, con una cultura interesantísima y de mucha carga cultural... El paseo en Faluca increíble. Unas vistas preciosas del Nilo. Todo ello ha sido posible gracias a mi guía AREF, además de explicarme los tipos de Felucas,las construcciones que veíamos a lo largo del Nilo, ruinas de templos etc, me ha explicado como nadie la cultura del pueblo Nubio. Ha pasado de ser una excursión a toda una experiencia. Sin duda repetiría. Gracias!

Great experience!
Our guide, Omar, was very professional and kind and he took us to visit a beautiful place, sharing with us facts about the location and Egyptian history. Also the boat driver was helpful and kind. Overall, it was a very good experience, I highly recommend it.

Highlight of Aswan and Luxor
Omar took care of us really good in Aswan. He was flexible with our requests and wishes, funny and interesting person (and famous 😜). Try to fix our problems and makes us happy. Afterwards in Luxor Alaaddin took care of us, we had a great experience in both places with them. Totally recommend and highlight for us. Also the music choice and photos he took was really good in Felluca.

Felucca ride and Nubian village
We had an amazing tour, our guide Omar was very nice and adjusted to our wishes. The Nile ride was very cozy and enjoyable, and the whole tour crew did everything that I became very nice for us. Special thanks to Aladdin who helped us to also get a perfect sunset felucca ride 2 days later in Luxor!

Rilassante mattinata in felucca e al villaggio Nubiano
Bellissima esperienza. La nostra guida, Omar, è venuta a prenderci all'orario e nel luogo concordati. Siamo partiti immediatamente con il giro in felucca, molto rilassante e divertente perché abbiamo potuto provare un po' a manovrarla e a remare. La vista nei dintorni è stupenda. Abbiamo poi proseguito verso il villaggio Nubiano, dove Omar ci ha accompagnati tra i vari negozi e a visitare una casa e una scuola locale, rispondendo a tutte le nostre domande e raccontandoci vari aneddoti. Una bellissima esperienza, consigliatissima!

Disappointing and unsafe-feeling experience – would not recommend
I would not recommend booking the Felucca and Nubian Village tour with inspiredegypttours.com or Hemd Aref. Our “guide” felt inexperienced and more interested in squeezing extra money out of us than in giving a safe, relaxed experience. When we asked to be dropped at a restaurant (which he himself suggested) instead of our hotel, he said he would wait and then drop us after lunch. Lunch took over an hour to arrive. When we came out, he suddenly demanded 1,000 EGP as “waiting charges” and then “kindly” reduced it to 800 EGP as a tip for the driver. At no point had this been mentioned or agreed upfront. When we refused (we never asked them to wait, and it made us anxious), he then tried to push for a tip for himself and insisted we get back in the car. We felt uncomfortable and ended up taking a taxi instead. The program itself was also misleading. The itinerary said 4.5 hours, including a 1-hour felucca; we got barely 20 minutes on the boat with the excuse that there was “no wind” – so why charge for a full hour? The Nubian village visit was mostly a welcome drink at the first house and a walk through tourist shops rather than a meaningful experience, and we were back 1.5 hours early. When you pay for a private guided tour, you expect clarity, safety, and professionalism – not surprise charges, pressure for tips, and constant worry about being scammed. There are definitely better, more transparent operators in Aswan offering similar trips at fair prices.
