Mohammed was extremely knowledgeable with not only the history and culture of Alexandria but Egypt as a whole. He answered every question we had. We learned quite a bit about Alexandria. I would recommend this excursion.

We booked through Viator for a day tour of Alexandria from Cairo. We got picked up in the morning in a small van and there was another couple in the middle seats. We had to take the last row which wasn't even enough for kids. We are cramped in there for the 2hours journey to Alexandria. There was no water provided for the day long tour even though the other tours we took from Cairo provided water. After reaching we met with our guide, Shireen who did her job well and showed us the main locations in the city roman ruins, catacomb, mosque and library. We were also taken to a shop where we didn't buy anything. At the end, we were taken for lunch (pre paid $15 per person) for ONE bread per person, some rice and one fish with bones. The food wasn't great and definitely not worth $15 or 450 egyptian pounds. After lunch, it was another 2.5 hours of cramped up car ride from Alexandria to Cairo. On dropping us at the hotel, we tipped our driver 10% in addition to the 10% we had tipped our guide in Alexandria. He wasn't happy with the amount and he literally got aggressive with us in the middle of the road and started shouting "more money". It was the worst experience for us. We were literally scared of him at that point.

Shery was a great guide and had lots of knowledge of the different places in Alexandria. She gave us also optional choices besides the planned program. Besides she is very sweet and makes secure we were safe and comfortable all the time

Shery was an excellent guide. She was clear and very professional and knew the answer to all of my questions. She was very flexible and a great storyteller. Very interesting tour indeed. I would recommend it for sure. The nice thing with a private tour is that you can do stuff a bit faster which really helps in getting the most out of a short visit.
