Karnak è un antico tempio egizio situato sulla riva orientale del fiume Nilo a Tebe (l'odierna Luxor). Copre più di 100 ettari, un'area più grande di alcune antiche città.
Costruito nel corso di centinaia di anni da Amenhotep III, Ramses II, Tutankhamon e altri faraoni, il Tempio di Luxor era il centro religioso più grande e significativo dell'antico Egitto. In quella che allora era Tebe, il Tempio di Luxor era "il luogo della Prima Occasione", dove il dio Amon sperimentò la rinascita durante la cerimonia di incoronazione del faraone rievocata ogni anno.
La sponda occidentale di Luxor era stata il sito di sepolture reali sin dal 2100 a.C. circa, ma furono i faraoni del periodo del Nuovo Regno (1550-1069 a.C.) che scelsero questa valle isolata dominata dalla vetta a forma di piramide di Al Qurn ( Il Corno). Una volta chiamata la Grande Necropoli di Milioni di Anni del Faraone, o il Luogo della Verità, la Valle dei Re ha 63 magnifiche tombe reali.
A Deir Al Bahri, gli occhi si concentrano prima sulle drammatiche scogliere calcaree aspre che si innalzano per quasi 300 metri sopra la pianura desertica, solo per rendersi conto che ai piedi di tutta questa immensa bellezza si trova un monumento ancora più straordinario, l'abbagliante Tempio di Hatshepsut. Il tempio dall'aspetto quasi moderno si fonde magnificamente con le scogliere da cui è in parte tagliato: un matrimonio fatto in paradiso. La maggior parte di ciò che vedi è stata ricostruita meticolosamente.

I loved the history I was hearing about. I loved all the temples. Hard to pinpoint my favorite but high up thete was the Nubian village. Azab our guide was wonderful. Helped me in so many ways. I would highly recommend havinIg him as your guide.

Azab has been such an amazing guide! We saw the valley of the kings + queen hatshepsuts tomb and learned all the history of the different tombs and which to visit! He took amazing pictures and is so full of interesting information about our destinations thanks to his interest and background working for the Egyptian Department of Antiquities. He took us to an amazing dinner as well! Thank for making our Egyptian experience so special.

Azab was fantastic! Articulate, knowledgeable, kind and helpful. He worked in the department of antiquities and it showed. He made sure that we all had a wonderful time as we learned about Egypt and the Egyptians. Highly recommend!

Come parte del nostro viaggio in Egitto, la mia famiglia ha deciso di fare una crociera di più giorni lungo il Nilo, per esplorare le numerose attrazioni lungo la sua costa. Ci siamo divertiti moltissimo e siamo stati guidati da una guida turistica molto intelligente il cui nome è Ahmed Awad. La sua guida ha migliorato completamente l'esperienza. Le sue intuizioni su ciascuna delle attrazioni erano molto buone ed era una guida estremamente competente che era in grado di rispondere a tutte le nostre domande. Che viaggio meraviglioso! Ci ha fatto capire quanto possa essere arricchente viaggiare soprattutto dopo la pandemia. Non vedo l'ora del nostro prossimo viaggio e speriamo di trovare un'altra guida come Ahmed.
