La prima zona è West Elbalad, nel centro del Cairo, dove ci sarà l'incontro e il calcio d'inizio con alcuni drink nazionali. La sensazione del cibo fatto in casa preparato come le nonne egiziane erano solite cucinare ogni giorno è così bella. La seconda area è l'iconica del Cairo locale dove puoi esplorare il Cairo fuori dai marciapiedi battuti, la vita reale delle persone, i tuk tuk e i mercati locali. Un panino di taameya come quello tipico dei Cairenei al posto dei falafel e un piatto di Koshary sono autentiche esperienze tra gente del posto! Oltre 6 fermate ti faranno ballare il ventre con il cibo egiziano. Non ci sono sprechi di cibo durante il nostro viaggio, quindi se non riesci a finire la tua porzione, puoi prendere gli avanzi o lasciarli semplicemente a chi ne ha bisogno per strada. We had a great food tour in Cairo and really enjoyed the experience. It was a fantastic way to try a variety of local dishes while exploring the city with a local guide. The food was delicious, authentic, and gave us a real taste of Egyptian cuisine and culture. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cairo and wanting to discover local food beyond the typical tourist spots.

This street food tour was incredible!!! It’s a highlight of my trip! Our guide was hospitable, kind, knowledgeable, and helped us to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I would have never tried the places we went to alone. The Egyptian falafel was a favorite stop! I highly recommend this tour and would go on it again in a heartbeat.

We couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough. It was so enjoyable to spend time with Ahmed and to be introduced to Egyptian culture and food. He was so passionate about the food that we tasted and took great joy in our experiencing new foods. This was an area of Cairo that we’d never have explored without a guide who walked us through the area, explaining the food as we went. Ahmed is so experienced in receiving travellers from all kinds of cultures and countries that sets you at ease from the beginning. More food than we could possibly eat! 😂 And well worth the money and time. If we had more time in Cairo we might have returned for a cooking class or a chance to explore the hidden gems of Cairo.

I cannot say enough good things about Ahmed and his family and the way they lead this tour. First piece of advice - come HUNGRY. You are basically getting a full meal at every stop. And all the food is delicious. Ahmed and his family introduce you to truly local gems - you have the chance to meet the people behind the magic, step into their kitchens, and savor the local cuisine. Each stop offers something new and Ahmed has curated a fun and unforgettable experience. A highlight of our trip.

Had the best experience with Ahmed! As a self proclaimed Foodie I could not have asked for more food or fun than our group had. In addition to the great food at I believe 8 different stops we also got a real taste of how the locals live!! Great value for the cost!!

My partner and I had a fantastic time with Ahmed, on our first night in Cairo and Egypt. The street food tour was amazing value for money, as you get a wide range of local dishes and you will not leave hungry! Not only food, but Ahmed truly gives you a local’s experience. From showing you how Egyptian Falafel is made, to teaching you about the cultural and social backgrounds of the areas and foods you are experiencing, and eating at authentic local hidden gems.

Mia moglie ed io siamo stati benissimo, insieme a due coppie provenienti rispettivamente da Lisbona, Portogallo e Londra, Inghilterra. Ahmed e sua moglie, Shorouk, e la loro figlia più piccola di 8 anni, Maria, hanno mostrato una “ospitalità familiare” assolutamente fantastica a me e mia moglie e alle altre coppie. L'autentico cibo egiziano che abbiamo assaggiato era ottimo in ognuno dei ristoranti che abbiamo visitato, e la quantità di cibo dato a ciascuno di noi era sufficiente per un pasto individuale in ogni ristorante, ad eccezione della panetteria, che abbiamo visitato per ultima. Ahmed e sua moglie e sua figlia erano molto coinvolgenti, e ha spiegato l'importanza del cibo che abbiamo mangiato alla famiglia e alla cultura egiziana. Ahmed si è anche assicurato che un ristorante adattasse il cibo che mi era stato dato per soddisfare le mie restrizioni dietetiche, che ho molto apprezzato. Il mio forte suggerimento ai futuri ospiti è di ( 1 ) venire affamati e ( 2 ) limitare la quantità di cibo che si mangia al primo paio di ristoranti in modo da essere in grado di mangiare e gustare il cibo nei ristoranti rimanenti. Non sono un grande mangiatore normalmente, e ho fatto un punto per limitare la mia assunzione in ogni ristorante in modo da poter godere del tour completo. Sapevo di aver trovato il giusto equilibrio con il mangiare dato che ero in grado di fare colazione il giorno dopo senza problemi. 👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏💯🧽🧽 A proposito, il tour è iniziato alle 19 ed è durato fino alle 22: 30 pm. Tuttavia, Shorouck e Maria lasciarono il gruppo dopo il secondo ristorante, in modo che Maria potesse prepararsi per la scuola il giorno successivo.
