I arrived a stranger and left a friend
Where to start? A simply wonderful experience from start to finish. Ahmed and Shorouk (and their two adorable daughters) were the perfect hosts, from meeting me from my delayed Uber and taking a tuk tuk ride through the backstreets to their home, all the way through to explaining every (delicious) dish we cooked and sharing their life experiences and thoughts on various topics. The time absolutely flew by and I was gutted it had to end. The biggest compliment I can pay them is that I arrived a stranger and left feeling like a lifelong friend. Five stars isn't enough. The highlight of my time in Cairo. Thank you so much!

Amazing Cultural and culinary experience
```While I travel; I try and explore local cuisine. This experience did enhance our understanding of culture and daily life in a family.
Ahmed and Shorouk are friendly and welcoming. They have amazing family. It was nice to know history of the house they live in and nuclear family culture.
Food we made definitely was delicious and vegetarian friendly. We definitely will be including some things we learned in our cooking.```

Dinner with my Egyptian Family <3
This was such a personal experience and I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants a personal touch of the Egyptian way of life/family. The unexpected treats, especially during Ramadan, made it such a humbling experience filled with thoughtfulness and kindness. Every element of the experience was perfectly curated to ensure you felt apart of their family not just a "guest". I won't ruin it by telling any of the surprise elements of the evening but I will say, they have thought about everything as they create an evening at "home" for you.

Amiamo davvero l'esperienza! La nostra migliore esperienza di sempre! Ci siamo sentiti come se stessimo visitando la casa dei nostri amici. Il cibo era super delizioso e abbiamo potuto provare a cucinare :) Le loro figlie sono così adorabili... Sono come gemme brillanti. E amiamo la loro casa... tradizionale bella casa. Culturally immersive cooking experience
Ahmed and Shorouk were such great hosts. They really embody the spirit of family. We immediately felt welcome and accepted. They communicated with us in this same energy from the very first message with words of kindness. “Off the beaten path” and “immersive experience” are both great ways to describe the experience. We were able to experience Egyptian culture on a deeply personal and rooted level. They introduced us to authentic foods and shared their love of family which was connective as we place great value on food and family. If you can have an open mind and are ready to leave the bustle of the city and take in homegrown, local energy, and cooking with love then this is the experience for you.

Live, Love, Laugh With This Amazing Egyptian Family
Shorouk, Ahmed and their little daughters Karma and Maria are some of the kindest people I have ever met. I wanted to know Egypt beyond visiting typical tourist spots, and actually dive into its local culture and lifestyle - which was exactly what this experience was about. This beautiful family welcomed me with so much warmth and thoughtfulness. I was introduced to some incredible Egyptian food - molokhia, koshary, hawawshi and much more! Everyone was so considerate and accommodating, and I felt like I was having a fun, relaxed evening with my closest friends. We shared laughs and stories, talked for hours about our lives, and interests in learning cultures and languages, and even discovered similarities between our own cultures.
From the point of signing up for this experience, Shorouk and Ahmed took care of everything, even ensuring that I got home safely (with a lovely surprise gift!). Shorouk has even offered to help me practice my Arabic language skills! It was heart-warming when they said I now have my own Egyptian family to return to when I visit the country again. I surely will return, especially for Karma's and Maria's magic shows!
If you are in Cairo for even a day, this is one experience you cannot miss!

Sentirsi a casa al Cairo
Prima di tutto, Ahmed e Shorouk sono padroni di casa affascinanti, coinvolgenti e generosi che ti fanno sentire come se fossi parte della loro famiglia dal momento in cui li incontri. Sono sinceramente interessati e interessanti, e la conversazione è stata così coinvolgente che potrebbe essere allettante pensare al cibo come a un ripensamento – se solo il cibo non fosse così delizioso! Non si può portare questo cibo per strada - solo a casa di uno chef di talento - come Shorouk.
