  1. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo
    2 horas

  2. The Pyramids Of Giza
    2 horas

  3. Great Sphinx
    30 minutos

  4. The Pyramids Of Giza
    20 minutos

Second time booking...even better than the first! Fantastic

This was my second time booking with Wonders of Egypt tours, returning again in May 2025 after our guided trip to Cairo in March 2023. I was with my father this time after visiting before with a friend. I had no hesitation returning after such a fantastic experience last time. I knew we were in expert hands, with a super day ahead. We were picked up early 4am at our hotel in Sharm el Sheikh then flew to Cairo (just under 1 hour), where we were then picked up by our driver and our excellent your guide Ali for the day. We visited the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx with superb expert guidance from the team. We then headed to a papyrus gallery for a great demonstration of how papryus is created, with an opportunity to the buy some the artwork (check out the secret room where the glow in the dark papryus is displayed...it's fantastic). We then headed for a great buffet lunch - mostly meats, salads, breads and tahini - before we then headed to the Egyptian Museum under the fantastic guidance of Ali to talk us through the history of the artefacts on display. After a quick coffee stop we then finished our day spending time on the Nile on a local sailboat. It was an excellent sunny day and perfect way to finish our trip before being driven back to Cairo airport for our onwards journey home. I cannot praise Ali enough, his communication before the day was great, every single detail of the day was planned brilliantly, and his knowledge of not only ancient Egyptology but also wider modern day Egypt and Cairo sets him apart. What really makes the difference are every single team member we came into contact with...our fantastic drivers at Sharm el Sheikh and in Cairo throughout the day, Ali of course himself, the restaurant team, the Nile sailing team, the experts at the papyrus gallery. All of them very friendly, very amiable and welcoming. This is genuinely an epic tour, I highly recommend to anyone looking to go. I hope to be back for a third time in future with my partner and kids! Thank you again Ali and team for a brilliant day. You rock! 😎

Wonderful trip to Cairo!

We had a fantastic trip to Cairo from Sharm. The communication from the tour company was great and we were kept updated about the trip at all times. Our flight with Egyptair was comfortable although the return flight was a late one but you get what you pay for. The day was action packed, with a visit to the Egyptian museum, a ride on the Nile river, lunch, visit to the pyramids along with camel ride and some local shops. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Egyptian history. He was friendly, professional and patient and was with us throughout the day. Our only disappointment was that when we got near the pyramids, it was almost closing time and we did not have time to take a moment to admire the magnificent monuments. If we had known there would be so little time, we would have asked to spend less time at the museum and/or skipped the camel ride, especially because we were a private group of 7 people. Check with your guide how much time you will have at each attraction and try to adjust your schedule accordingly, depending on where you want to spend more time. The trip to the shops was merely a sales pitch but it is great to know the local culture if you are not tempted to buy everything you see and especially know how to bargain. Overall though, it was a great day and I thank Wonders of Egypt and our tour guide for making this trip a memorable one!

Amazing trip from start to finish! Recommend booking directly with Ali!

The day trip to Cairo from Sharm was amazing and so worth it! We booked directly with Ali and I would highly recommend this for anyone taking the trip - his communication and attention to detail was fantastic from start to finish. Ali was extremely responsive by messaging prior to arriving in Egypt and gave all of the details needed with good notice. Everything ran smoothly during the day, flights with Egypt Air were great value and they even had TVs and free water/ snacks which helped to entertain the kids. Ali’s professionalism and friendly nature throughout the tour made it so relaxing and enjoyable - and he really tailored the tour to the kids, which was the cherry on top! The pace, information given and all of the stops that we made were great. Opportunities for some lovely souvenirs (children especially liked the papyrus shop), and the buffet lunch was good quality with lots of options. Overall, this was a truly memorable family experience and hopefully a day our children will remember for many years to come. Ali is brilliant and we thank him for his care and attention for our trip! Highly recommend to anyone taking a tour in Cairo or coming from Sharm or further afield - book direct - you will not be disappointed!

A fabulous day in Cairo

This was a first class trip. I booked through Trip Advisor the week before my daughter (10yo) and I came on holiday to sharm-el-sheikh. The communication around the details were all conducted over WhatsApp and I always got prompt responses. The basic flights were very early from sharm and very late back into sharm so I paid about £100 extra for a shorter day. We opted for the private tour and am glad we did. On arrival our driver was waiting with a sign with our name. The traffic in Cairo is a nightmare but our driver skilfully navigated the journey to the museum where we met up with our guide (mostafa). The guide was superb, guiding us around the museum, explaining the significance of certain artefacts and all with a great deal of enthusiasm. He even offered to take photos of us in front of certain pieces. We then were taken to the docks for a 35 minute felluca ride on the Nile the water was pretty calm and overall a very good experience. After we had done that the driver was waiting to take us to our next stop which was a restaurant for lunch (ok - but the local cuisine isn’t ideal for kids). After lunch we were taken to the pyramids/sphinx area. Again the guide was brilliant and helped make a special day that little bit better. We then had a brief stop at a papyrus museum where we where showed how papyrus paper is made before the journey back to the airport. Would highly recommend this trip.
