Full day out in Cairo

Our guide for the whole day was Jimmy. He was absolutely fantastic - super knowledgeable and understood we had a 9 year old with us so we had to go at her pace. We had the most incredible day - it was brilliant to see the pyramids and we learnt all about them as we explored and took photos. It was so reassuring having a guide rather than going on our own. Lunch was a buffet and the food was delicious. Jimmy encouraged us to try the local cuisine. Having a guide at the museum was also so helpful as otherwise it would have been overwhelming as its so big! Thank you Jimmy for an amazing day!! We packed a LOT in!

Day Excursion (Nile Cruise/Pyramids/Sphinx/Grand Egyptian Museum) by Flight from Hurghada

Fabulous excursion and couldn’t have asked for more, a lifetime experience for all the family. Picked up early at the hotel in the morning, we flew from Hurghada into Cairo, did a lovely riverboat cruise on the Nile which the kids enjoyed and the adults relaxed during then travelled onto the Pyramids. Most of the group did the camel riding which was great fun but probably best to take the horse and carriage for those who want a slightly easier time of it! Visited the Sphinx and then went to both main Pyramids. Fair bit of walking and climbing involved but nothing too strenuous. The experience for going inside the Pyramids is epic for both Pyramids where you can do so. Well recommended to do both rather than just one as the kids loved the adventuring. The main one is sensationally hot inside, genuinely like a sauna, so be prepared to climb, stoop down, climb whilst stooped down (more effort than you think when the rungs keep coming) and most of all sweat! Nice stop off for a rest and some lunch before heading to the Grand Egyptian Museum which was again a hugely impressive visit. The vast array of ancient artefacts is stunning but the Tutankhamun exhibition obviously steals the show really doesn’t it? Wow. A Mona Lisa-esque moment for all the family to see the iconic famous golden death mask and well worth it. For those that have done the physical activities of the rest, walking around the museum at the end takes it toll and as enthusiastic as you may be you’re kind of just keeping on to get through the day by the time you reach the Khufu Boat exhibition. Our guide Mr Falcon was absolutely top class, great fun, knowledgeable and knew all the tricks of the trade to avoid queues and traffic and get access easily. Made a big difference and the experience wouldn’t have been the same without him and our driver Mustafa. Thanks again to Book Tour Egypt, nothing but good things to say about the whole trip and operator, all felt really safe throughout and totally recommend both without hesitation. Enjoy! ☺️👏👏👏

Cairo

We had a fabulous trip and our guide Hussain and our driver Ramadan helped make it magical Hussain was very knowledgeable and passionate about his country and gave us such information on the history and the theories behind the pyramids. It was a very interesting day. Our plans changed at short notice due to traffic, but we would not have known only we were told. Ramadan managed to get us skilfully through the traffic of Cairo where the drivers are all mad, and safely deposited us to the airport for our return journey. I would thoroughly recommend this trip if you are interested in the history of Egypt. We not only seen the pyramids but got a taste of the old Cairo, the street sellers and atmosphere. Thank you, Hassan and Ramadan for making it a great trip 👏👏👏

Visit to Cairo in april

Very convenient way to visit Cairo from Hurghada. All arrangements were clear and well planned. Maybe bit too much programme for one day gave a feeling of rush. Mr. Falcon was perfect guide for this trip

Would recommend

Super early start, but the flight is only 1.5hrs. Guide, Sam, was very helpful. If you want to see the tombs at the pyramids, word of warning - it has steep steps, low ceilings and is extremely cramped with people squishing past. It also took us 50 mins and that was with a short queue. The sphinx was good - take a few dollars for trinkets. Sam took us to his friend which saved the bartering. Wasn’t impressed with the lunch, so make sure you bring extra snacks. Museum was awesome. Could have taken an age there. A few hours flew by. Nile trip was lovely. We had an overcast day….. but I bet on a sunny day it would be even better. Very long day! But plenty of water provided and we could leave bags on the bus. Would recommend. But give yourself the next day off to recover!
