Tourist Trap Stops and Camel Abuse Included

Tour guide was nice enough. Not over friendly but ok. The information given was very limited. Luckily I read up before going. Unlike my family who assumed the tour guide would tell us. The information about what was accessible and open was also bad. When you plan to visit somewhere once you need this information to be accurate. The camel ride was much shorter than promised. The camel guide slapped the camel across the face in front of my child which upset. They were also very pushy for tips. But the tourist trap stops (at ridiculous prices) at the Perfume and Carpet factories were complete scams and not on the itinerary. It ruins the trip to be taken to these places rather than spend time at the places you paid for and want to be at. I am not convinced they are ‘government sanctioned’ as the guide suggested.

Thumbs up for the pyramids experience!

Michael picked us up before time, knowing that it would be the best because the places we are going to visit were going to be busy that day. We enjoyed the pyramids and didn’t have to make any lines. His knowledge about the history of the country and about the museum is very good, he explained everything with passion and with patience. We also had a very nice lunch with the view of the pyramids. Really appreciate the way they took care of us. Thank you!

Absolutely stellar!

We definitely recommend this tour if you have 1 day in Cairo! Mimo was our guide and Amr was our driver -- both were dreams and we felt very blessed to have them as our guide & driver for the day. Mimo is kind, warm, friendly, fun, knowledgeable, and a great guide. Amr was a cool dude and very professional and the car we got to be in/leave our stuff in all day was so clean and comfortable, etc. We only had 1 day in Cairo, so I wanted to try to fit in the pyramids & Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum, and the Bazaar. We did all this and more (stopped for coffee & pastry for breakfast at our request, camel ride, perfumes/oils shop, papyrus shop, and an excellent lunch with a great view). One word of warning is that if you want to do all this in one day, it is a very fast-paced and full day! But that has nothing to do with the guide -- this is just the reality of trying to fit all this in in one day. Mimo and Amr did a great job fitting it all in and we couldn't have been more pleased. I normally don't care for the extra stops (like perfumes/oils and papyrus), but I was actually so intrigued by the information and I bought something at both places, which turn out to be some of my favorite souveniers from the trip. So, overall, this is absolutely an excellent way to spend 1 day in Cairo -- it was our first tour of our 2 weeks in Egypt and it turns out it was the best one, hands down. Make sure you get Mimo and Amr, who are the best! :))
