Don't miss this tour

Essam, our guide and Abdo our driver, provided us with a super tour of the oldest pyramids. No crowds here, a chance to get up close to amazing wall paintings and hieroglyphs. The step pyramid, bent pyramid and red pyramid, set on limestone plateaus are spectacular if you enjoy Egyptian history. It is also great to get away from the city and see some of the countryside. Essam provided lots of information. A really good tour.

Sakkara, memphis and dashur with Housam

This tour was perfect. Amazing scenery and sights, but even more incredible thanks to the wonderful story telling of Housam Mousa my guide today. As a solo traveller I was a bit worried before I started today, however once I met Housam and our driver, Farhad I felt very reassured and excited for the trip to see the pyramids. As we drove to Sakkara, Housam explained the history of Cairo and Giza in incredible detail, and Farhad bought me water and snacks on the way. The visit to the pyramids would not have been the same with out Housam who bought the history completely to life. I was full of questions but he was patient and very knowledgeable. He speaks great English and really knew his history. When I wanted to explore on my own he was happy to let me, but also took loads of photos for me as well, which being a solo travel let was great. I want to thank Housam and Farhad sincerely for an excellent day, and showing me their culture. I will recommend Emo Tours and my guide to everyone I meet. Really really good.

Highlight of holiday in Egypt

Family of five, with three children, decided last minute to take this short excursion with Emo. The booking was made via-internet, late the night before a 10am pick-up from our hotel. Transport (mini-van type) was prompt, immaculate, comfortable and safe with great AC. The driver was excellent throughout, very safe. Drinks were provided for the tour. Our guide, Mr. Ayman Gabry, was an absolute gentleman and provided a narrative throughout the tour. He was patient with the children, knowledgeable and took us only to the places we wanted to visit. I would recommend him without reservation. This holiday was the first time the children had visited Egypt and this short excursion was the highlight of a six day stay. Many thanks again to Ayman and our driver.

Informative and organized tour

I had a custom day tour and was able to do a lot of the things that I want to do. Sakarra, Memphis, Coptic Cairo, Mohamed Ali mosque, and many other churches and mosques. Ahmednour Eldien was my tour guide and was very knowledgeable. He was a walking encyclopedia. I learned a lot and would definately recommend to anyone.

More knowledgeable and passionate than other tour guides! Higest recommendation to Emo and Maged.

I booked a last minute tour with Emo Tours with less than 24 hours notice from a sleeper train (Luxor to Cairo). This was after I felt cheated by my last tour company, and cancelled the 1-day extension I had planned to Sakkara Memphis and Dahshur. I am so glad I did! My tour guide was Maged Elbehairy and driver was Gamal. Maged was amazing. He was so passionate about the tour that he called the company to ask them to give me one extra hour free (at that time it was 5hrs), and he said we really needed 6 hours to have enough time at the Imhotep Museum. His level of understanding of Egyptian history far surpassed my previous three tour guides (the previous company kept changing us). Not only did he go into greater detail throughout, but he also corrected various points I thought I had learned from the others (for example: why is the third great pyramid smaller than the first two? See if you can find this yourself! ;) ). He told me he continuously studied more and more papers and books to further his knowledge, and it showed. It didn't feel like he was there to make some money, like the others; rather, it seemed like he wanted to make us truly understand the Egyptian history and culture. It's an incredible difference, from those who seem like they are just there to do a job. Oh, he also mentioned that you are supposed to have a certain government certificate that many people didn't actually possess. I didn't double check him on it, but it certainly seems likely to be true, based on my different experiences!!! My highest recommendation for Emo Tours in general and Maged in particular. I am sure you will have as good a time as we did with him!!!

Visit to pyramids and Memphis- private tour

Ola is a charming name, and resonates easily with most Indians. She didn't come across as a trademark guide to us but as a vivacious and elegant friend. Ola, updated us minute to minute on her pick plan from our hotel, giving us the comfort of being not lost in a foreign land. Her smiling face was a welcome sign and her spoken English made us feel in safe hands. She gave us a brief rundown on the city initially, its chaotic traffic and slowly built on the importance and the ancient history of the place, without burdening us with too many micro details. As a professional guide she is adept at photography and knows vantage points around to get the best snap shots of monuments. She also protected us from overzealous and friendly touts at Sphinx to give us the freedom to move around and explore. We also appreciate her for not misleading us and not being pushy to make purchases from souvenir stores - (a menace that we come across many tourist places). Along the way, she and the Driver " Ee Ah" - (as we called him) kept us in good humour and made our journey feel a lot easier. Indeed our visit to Cairo , will remain etched in memory for a long time. Thank you so much Ola.

Brilliantly Organised ... An excellent Guide! - Marvels to See

I phoned in the afternoon to enquire and then booked on line for a tour to start the following morning ... and they gave me a choice of times to set off so I chose a leisurely 10am start!! ....... it was also half the price that my holiday handling agents quoted for the same!! Our guide Housam Mousa was excellent, informative and knowledgeable ... he spoke great english and is also, apparently, fluent in italian It’s 15 years since I last visited Saqqara and I knew that more tombs have opened in recent years .... a few are included in the general ticket price but we also bought an extra ticket, with Housams excellent advice, to go into the Serapeum tunnels and it was amazingly impressive, well worth the visit and something that we have never seen the likes of!! .... Unbelievable .... How on earth did they achieve what they did We climbed down the shaft of King Teti’s burial chamber but declined to attempt the many metres of crawling into the pyramids at Dashur .... perhaps when I have lost some weight!! The detail on some of the hieroglyphics never ceases to amaze me .... after many visits to Egypt we are always learning new things .... next week Luxor cruise Emo Tours really did go the extra mile to make our visit a success and the tour guide they provided completed that success .... I am just glad that I found them so easily through Tripadvisor

Explicación muy clara

Gran recorrido a Alejandría y Saqqara. Nuestro guía Ahmed Hamed fue muy bueno al explicar la historia y es la mejor guía al hacerlo durante nuestra estadía en Egipto. Aprendí mucho de las dos giras. Definitivamente lo recomendaré a otros.
