04 Days - 03 Nights Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor
We enjoyed very much with Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor, part of our 14 day trip from Cairo to Aswan to Luxor and back to Cairo. Our guide for this part, Mahmoud Hassan, was a real expert with a degree in Egyptology and he knew his stuff! He never tired of my questions and is a real professional. His explanations were not only in detail, but included speculative suggestions as to what was behind the story. Without him, we could not have got as much out of the tour as we did.
The accommodation on the boat was comfortable but we did not go only for the cruise, however, we were very well looked after, the food was excellent, the sun deck very pleasant.
Value for money in February? Couldn’t beat it and I would thoroughly recommend Luxor and Aswan Travel, first class!

Smooth, efficient, fascinating journey.
Very smooth, comfortable trip with outstanding guides and service,( including pick-up at airport, to hotel registration). Cairo guide Hoda and driver Ehab were professionals. Their coordination was perfect - we saw allot, but never felt rushed or spent time waiting. The same was true of Massoud, a well known and recognized Egyptologist. who accompanied us on our cruise from Aswan to Luxor. His depth of knowledge resulted in fascinating tours to sites from the Aswan Dam to the Valley of the Kings and everything of note in between.
The logistics of the trip were flawless, communication with management was easy and we received prompt responses to any inquiries. We were provided with efficient, explicit instructions, and always felt comfortable. We have no complaints, only high praise for Luxor and Aswan Travel!
One note,- while our ship, the Blue Shadow was beautiful, clean, had excellent food and charming staff, we were a bit annoyed that the schedule was altered after we boarded because there was a large group on board who wanted to go to Abu Simbel (an optional tour), so our free time was increased to an entire day. Our departure was then further delayed because the group returned late. While we did get to see everything on the itinerary, we spent time waiting and then rushing.

We found Luxor and Aswan Travel through a travel blog and originally thought we would get mashed up into a group with some guiding through the monuments.
This was totally different, and completely transformed our Egypt trip into a completely unique experience. We had a private, wonderful guide, Safwat, who explained the disposition of the temples as a beautiful, eternal garden, explained how to recognise the scenes and meanings of them, made wonderful suggestions and generally spiked our interest for ancient Egypt beyond what we had expected could happen.
We asked to go to specific shopping experiences (alabaster, spices, etc) and Safwat took us to places where we felt respected in our choices and changes of opinions, he even helped us negotiate and took us to wonderful restaurants. We ended up extending our time with him for a second morning in the East Bank of Luxor and even before coming back already started planning when we could go back to Egypt.
On our last day, the company provided our lunch and the transport to the Airport. Our driver in Luxor, Mostafa, was also very kind and smooth, we felt completely safe and taken care of.
This is a company you'll want to reserve with for your trip, we'll be coming back to them for our next. Don't hesitate, and ask them all the questions you want, with all the ideas you have, or ask for recommendations, and you'll have a beautiful experience that you won't forget.

Nile River Cruise Review (Blue Shadow Boat)
This is a fantastic way to visit the historical sites along the Nile from Aswan to Luxor. The cruise includes a private expert guide for your group that will stay with you throughout the course of your travels. We had Ahmad - he was excellent! I loved that I didn't have to think about the logistics of how to get to each of the temples or how to reserve tickets. Having a guide explain the significance of each of the ruins makes a huge difference. There are dozens of boat options to chose from depending on your budget and time availability. I was on Blue Shadow and thought the boat was fine. It was clean and comfortable. The food was okay and the staff were extremely friendly. I'd recommend this experience to anyone considering visiting Upper Egypt.

Aswan and Luxor cruise
Luxor is an amazing place! We had the best time, learned a lot of things! Our guide, Waleed is very well informed, educated and with very good use of English! He had a lot of patience and made a very interesting plan! The cruise was nice , with nice views polite and friendly staff, the cruise ship was clean and had nice food. In Aswan we had nice time too, not so many things to see but we had a nice boat trip.

Embarcamos en el crucero Esmeralda. Las cabañas y las instalaciones en general estaban realmente a la altura y más allá. Todo el personal fue muy hospitalario y amable.
Nuestro guía turístico Walleed estaba muy bien informado e hizo todo lo posible para ayudarnos con los lugareños.
Nos llevaron con chofer hacia y desde el barco en vehículos SUV bonitos y limpios.
Muy recomendable.

Amazing Family Experience!
We recently completed a 7-day trip that included the Nile river cruise and a couple of days in Cairo. Overall our family including our kids (6 & 8) had a great experience with the trip that Luxor & Aswan Travel had planned for us. We’re from the United States and at no point during our visit did we feel unsafe or concerned about our security. Our drivers and tour guides made the visit straightforward and smooth. In particular our visit to Aswan and Luxor was the real highlight of the trip.
Highlights to note:
- Our Egyptologist tour guide in Aswan & Luxor, Mohamed (Momo), was an all-star! His knowledge, demeanor and interpersonal skills were all exceptional! He led us through all of the sites by highlighting the key points, giving knowledgeable context and navigating around the crowds. As we toured the temples and tombs we would stop at selected key spots and give the story behind the specific spot (e.g. carving, tomb, pylon, etc). At the end of each temple visit we would have free time to explore on our own and take pictures, which allowed us to focus on the narrative during his tour. Also, his approach was great at keeping our kids engaged and enjoying the trip as well.
- The sites selected as part of this package were all of high quality and curated to hit the most notable ones. We had decided to spend an extra day in Luxor afterwards to do the West Bank II tour (Hebu Temple) and tomb of Nefertari. This was our favorite day of the entire trip and would recommend it to others as well!
- The river cruise boat, Acamar, had very nice facilities, food and friendly staff. We enjoyed the entire time while on the boat and the crew were very focused on ensuring we had a great experience.

Great trip !!!
A perfectly organized cruise, excellent ship Jaz Viseroy, good cuisine and service. We received a lot of positive emotions thanks to our guide Mustafa, who professionally and carefully organized our visit to the magnificent monuments of Ancient Egypt. Sight-seeing ancient Egypt in comfort!
Ashraf has a wealth of knowledge about the ancient Egyptian civilization. Because of his work as an archeologist, he has a lot of hands-on experience and is knowledgeable enough to answer any question you give him! Moreover, his tours were amazingly well-managed and all the beautiful locations we got to see we were in time.
Ashraf joined us on the amazing cruise itself, and we had great discussions with him that deepened our understanding of Egypt’s heritage, something we appreciate very much. All the staff on-board were professional and friendly. The arrangements for the cruise went very easily and the activities themselves went flawlessly.
