We had an amazing private day trip to Abu Simbel from Aswan. Muhammad Abdo was our guide, he was knowledgeable and we had an amazing time knowing the history and visiting the temple. He also took nice pictures for us. Highly recommend Abdo :)

Abu Simbel is quite far from Aswan. It's a 4-hour drive. The driver will pick you up at 4am and you'll get to Abu Simbel at 8am. This is just a shared bus. There is no guide. I prefer not having a guide; I just like to look at things. They give you two hours to look around. For me that was plenty. At 10am you then drive back and arrive back at Aswan at 2pm. Abu Simbel is really cool. Is it a 8-hour drive with a 2-hour stop cool? That's for you to decide. I think it's worth seeing simply because of the sheer scale of some of the statues. I would try to sleep on the drive in and then read a book on the way back.

My agent Elarya was very helpful and managed the tour well. She supported me to catch a car without any trouble via WhatsApp, while drivers don’t understand English well. Abu Simbel was of course great to visit, even it takes 4 hours drive.

We booked this transport as we were only looking for a way to get to Abu Simbel and back (we didn't need tour guide, special treatment, or any add ons, purely just transport). We were picked up on time, got onto minibus and this was the vehicle that took us the whole way. There were 2 drivers that swapped eventually. We picked up other people and went our way. We stopped seemingly in the middle of nowhere in the dark, without drivers saying anything. They got out and went to talk to other people while we were left in the van without the world (got a suspicion we were waiting for the road/security to open, would just be nice to say 2 words because this way the whole minibus was unsettled trying to figure out what is going on). Once the road opened, we were on our way without issues. We had a break at a place with toilet and some food/drinks/souvenirs to buy half way through. We arrived to Abu Simbel in good time, they let us out at the parking lot and said time to be back at. We had around 2hours I think and it was enough for us to buy tickets, walk around and enjoy ourselves (no time to sid down and have refreshments - we did not need this though). We were picked up at the designated time and went back to Aswan. Same toilet break as on the way there. There was an envelope going around for tips for the drivers close to Aswan, which is fine. Then, when people were getting off, drivers would be by door and demand further tips (I think collectively harvested amount was not much to the liking). I don't know what is customary for tips, would prefer if they were included in the total price of the trip if anything. We booked last minute, I wanted to go for a cheaper bus, but it was sold out. I would still recommend if you are in need, we did get there and back in good time and safely (star down only for those few cobfused/uneasy feelings on the way). Thank you

Everything was excellent. They picked us up from Elephantine Island and the transport was very comfortable to Abu Simbel. Suzanna made sure everything was programed and that we were informed of everything in advance.
