Overview

Experience the largest museum of ancient Egyptian art with its treasures of Egypt’s great past, such as the high-quality tomb goods. Our tour guide will humorously explain the most important exhibits in a two-hour stay and answer your questions. Marvel at the last existing wonder of the world - a fabulous experience! A total of three pyramids can be found here : the Chephren, the Cheops and the Mykerinos pyramid. You can discover the terrain on foot, horseback or on camel for yourself. After visiting the pyramids of Giza, you will head to the Great Sphinx, by far the largest and most preserved sphinx. It consists of a human head on a lion's body. The sphinx was hewn from the remains of a limestone hill that served as a quarry for the Cheops pyramid. Felukenfahrt on the Nile. In consultation with the tour group for a fee.

What you'll see

  1. Sharm El Sheikh

Visit the state-of-the-art Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the largest archaeological museum in the world with over 100,000 artifacts, or the Ancient Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. Select your preferred museum during the booking process. Afterwards, enjoy your lunch. The further course of the excursion will take you to the great pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. When returning from Cairo in the late evening, we will spend some time visiting medieval London (Khan el Klalili Market), Old Cairo, recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, or Cairo Festival City, an extra-large shopping mall (air-conditioned), one of the largest in the Middle East. Full of the most famous international brands, restaurants, cafés and a giant dancing fountain, where you'll be drawn to Cairo's chic, modern nightlife.

Day trip to Cairo from Sharm

A super experience, we were picked up from our hotel at 3.30am and transferred to sharm airport. The driver gave us clear instructions on where to go once inside. We checked in with Egypt air. They also printed our return boarding passes at the same time. We then moved through to departures. There was a cafe open which was super. The flight left on time and a snack and a bottle of water was provided during our 1 hour flight. We met our guide outside in Cairo and we were taken to our minibus. We then waited 30 minutes for all of the group to arrive. As our group was made up of French and English we had two guides. The french speaking guide was at the airport and the English speaking guide was picked up on route to the Egyptian museum. Fahme was super knowledgeable and showed us the main exhibits before giving us 30 minutes to ourselves. We then traveled to our boat on the Nile. Lots of amazing photos were taken of the party by Fameh. After our boat trip we visited a papyrus shop where we were shown how papyrus paper is made. They then showed us many examples that were for sale. Following this we visited a restaurant for lunch. It was pleasant and sufficient. After lunch it was time for the pyramids and the sphinx. They were super amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed making our way upto the kings chamber in Cheops. Following this we visited an oil production store selling oils of all sorts and scents. Again there were pitches regarding recommendations and bottle sizes. It was then time to head back to the airport but not before getting one last photo of the pyramids as the sun was starting to set. On arrival back in sharm our minibus was waiting outside to return us to the hotel. It was a super exciting day and I would strongly recommend it.

Overall definitely worth seeing, but few tips...

The museum, pyramids and sphinx are a must do... stunning! The tour itself was good, Khalid was a knowledge tour guide with lots of humour. A few things to know before you go on this tour that are important: - They book the cheapest flights for you, so 7am flight out and 11.30pm flight back. They dont tell you this until after you book, so be mindful as its a really long day. 5am pick up from hotel, and you return around 1 in the morning. - Get your visa beforehand online, or at the airport when you arrive into Sharm. If you try to do it on the day they won't help you like they say they will, and by this point you have paid for the trip so will miss the trip. - Take dry snacks or fruit if you can as its a long day - When I went it was windy so take a jumper as it can get cold. You can leave things in the van so better to take jacket, trousers etc. - You start at museum, then pyramids, then sphinx. The museum is amazing, but it's a quick visit, only a few hours so you don't get to see everything. - As they book the flight so late, once you finish at pyramids by 5pm (everything shuts by this time), what do you do until your 11.30 flight? Well they sell u a cruise on Nile for £25 each that is from 6-8pm, and a bit of pressure is placed on you by Khalid as all the people on the tour have to agree. If you don't you are told you will have to sit in the van and wait for the rest of the group to return. They obviously make money from it and it's obvious with how they pressure you. - Personally the cruise is a waste, as its basic buffet food (drinks not included, and very expensive) and some belly dancing, you can't really see the Nile at night. I would have preferred to go to an authentic Egyptian restaurant or see the town a bit. But that's not an option. I assume you could do your own thing and make your own way to airport, but as a solo traveller I didn't feel comfortable doing that. Overall it was worth going just to see it all, but if I was to do it again in 1 day I would book my own flights as the day is too long. And honestly I actually would love more time in museum so I would do it over two days so I could really enjoy seeing everything. I would fly into Ciaro, see everything over two days, then fly to Sharm. The tour company were well organised, I just wish they tell you about the cruise and flights before hand so you are prepared and can budget yourself.

Indiana Khalid is the star of the tour.

Great experience. Khalid the tout guide and driver Ahmed made the whole experience unforgettable. Also boat ride on nile and unexpected Turkish tune where they made me dance to authentic Trurkish tune was a great touch. Khalid is also great egyptologist. I felt like in a live documentary with him when he was teaching us about old Egypt. Also they were really patient with my constantly crying 15m old infant. Only think I will recommend to other travellers not to take stroller with them to the pyramids try a strong baby carrier if possible to make the whole tour pleasant for yourself and the infant.

Great day out in Cairo/Giza

Definitely one for the bucket list. Reminds me very much of my country. The pyramids are a great site to see as one of the wonders of the world. Activities were well spaced out. Khaled was a high energy very knowledgeable guide that kept us engaged throughout. Id recommend bringing breakfast sandwich and water. As the day is from 4am to 9pm. Flight is 40 minutes each way. We saw the tombs, tutenkhamen crown, lots of artifacts in the Egyptian museum. Again Khaled was fantastic. We paid 500 Egyptian Pounds to ride the boat on the Nile. They should start supplying lifejackets for safety. Funny enough, Titanic was played as a tease. All in good jest. Overall a good day out. Beats lounging in the hotel. A great way to meet people on your trip and have great conversations. I already have my next trip in mind with similar activity. Our guide speaks Italian, Russian, Spanish, Arabic qnd English. There are other language guides available.

Everything is great,...

Everything is great, relax and enjoy the views. One thing: think twice, is it worth paying and climbing into the tomb? Very difficult passage

Cairo Family Trip

I'll start by saying that Khaled driving is great. We booked directly with this local agency online and I must say they were always available and very well organized with transfers and flights. Once in Cairo you know Khaled, a guide who speaks very good Italian and English, very nice and engaging in explanations from the Egyptian museum, to the pyramids of Giza, the sphinx. Throughout the day we made other very nice stops where you can see for example how a parchment is created with essential oils and spices. As an extra a 2-hour mini cruise with buffet dinner, local songs and dances and then end the day visiting the largest market in Cairo, very interesting and particular to see a different reality from ours. Highly recommended Italy one 👍

Fun with friends

Fahmy was the perfect guide during our Egyptian experience. He was both knowledgeable and attentive and made the whole experience a memorable one. I would highly recommend this rather than booking with the tour operator as it's a lot cheaper. We have made some lovely memories and have photos to support this.
