Overview

Experience the largest museum of ancient Egyptian art with its treasures of Egypt’s great past, such as the high-quality tomb goods. Our tour guide will humorously explain the most important exhibits in a two-hour stay and answer your questions. Marvel at the last existing wonder of the world - a fabulous experience! A total of three pyramids can be found here : the Chephren, the Cheops and the Mykerinos pyramid. You can discover the terrain on foot, horseback or on camel for yourself. After visiting the pyramids of Giza, you will head to the Great Sphinx, by far the largest and most preserved sphinx. It consists of a human head on a lion's body. The sphinx was hewn from the remains of a limestone hill that served as a quarry for the Cheops pyramid. Felukenfahrt on the Nile. In consultation with the tour group for a fee.

What you'll see

  1. Sharm El Sheikh
    Full day

You will be picked up from your hotel around 4am. Upon arrival in Cairo, your tour guide will meet you and accompany you throughout the tour. Meet your Egyptological tour guide at the museum to start your day. Visit the state-of-the-art Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the largest archaeological museum in the world with over 100,000 artifacts, or the Ancient Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. Select your preferred museum during the booking process. Afterwards, enjoy your lunch. The further course of the excursion will take you to the great pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. The pyramid tour ends at the Sphinx and the temple in its vicinity. If time permits, you will have the opportunity to drive to Cairo Bazaar at the end of the day before returning to Sharm el Sheikh. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be driven to your hotel in an air-conditioned car.

  2. Khan Al-Khalili Bazaar
    1 hour

When returning from Cairo in the late evening, we will spend some time visiting medieval London (Khan el Klalili Market), Old Cairo, recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, or Cairo Festival City, an extra-large shopping mall (air-conditioned), one of the largest in the Middle East. Full of the most famous international brands, restaurants, cafés and a giant dancing fountain, where you'll be drawn to Cairo's chic, modern nightlife.

  3. Cairo
    Pass by

If we have time, we can make two characteristic visits to the Papyrus Museum and the Essential Oils Factory. These two attractions will introduce you to ancient Egyptian techniques for making papyrus and essences. Pyramids - Done !

Decided to fly to Cairo and have a full day excursion visiting The Pyramids, Sphinx, museum, papyrus making shop and fragrances shop. Long day, but totally worth it. Once in a lifetime experience to see the pyramids in all their glory. Highly recommend going by plane...NOT coach...!

The trip was well organized, pickups were done efficiently. Agenda was planned well, the tour guide Ahmad was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great experience. An extra nice touch - the agency sales staff stayed in touch and checked on us throughout the trip.

Lifetime Opportunity

This trip is a must. It may be a bit pricy, but you are getting everything back and more in lasting memories. If I could give it 10/10 I would. It was perfect. The plane there was the better option because you had more time to visit the sites. We were taken to the Cairo Museum (the old one) in two months, so in April 2025, it'll be closed for a year for refurbishment while the new one will house everything until then. We were led, very expertly, by our guide, who pointed out the most interesting artefacts, busts and slabs in great detail. We saw Tutankhamun's mask and other amazing funeral relics and learnt fascinating history about the various dynasties of Ancient Egypt. After an Egyptian buffet lunch, we were whisked to the pyramids. Remember that even the security guards will ask for money to take pictures. Everyone is out for something- but it doesn't deter from the experience of visiting them. If you want to go into one of the pyramids, it's $30. There is nothing to see inside, but it's up to you if you want the experience of how the pyramid builders created each masterpiece. We could pay for a $10 pp horse and cart ride or a camel ride around the pyramids. If you haven't been on a camel, it's pretty bumpy and can be quite uncomfortable- that being said, so was the horse and cart ride. This is optional. We then went to see the sphinx and got some fantastic pictures. Then we were taken to a Perfume Shop. You don't need to buy anything, but the prices are amazing for what you get. And the owner is a very cool guy. I definitely recommend the peppermint tea! After that, we had loads of time to kill before our flight, so we had a little cruise down the Nile (this is optional at $10 pp). It was beautiful seeing everything lit up at night. And the guys on the boat played decent music- we even had a dance to the macarena! We then proceeded to an old bazaar called Khan el Khalili, and around the corner from that was a mosque that had connections to the Prophet Mohammad. It was a lovely sight to see it lit up at night. Then we headed to this modern mall to find some grub and were safely taken back to the airport in plenty of time for the flight. Overall, it was a brilliant trip. It was for my husband's birthday, and he couldn't have been happier. Thank you to the guides, the bus driver and the operators for putting this outsounding trip together. It really was perfect!

You have to do it while in egypt

Excellent well organised day from start to finish. Excellent communication throughout by the company. Picked up from hotel at 4.40am and taken to the airport, picked up from the airport and taken to the museum, then to lunch, then to the pyramids and sphinx where you could ride a camel or horse drawn carriage, then people had a chance to go on the Nile on a boat (we didn’t, but other group members said it was lovely), then to the huge bazaar in Cairo, then to a more modern shopping precinct where we could get our tea. The tour guides allowed us just enough time in each place to get full enjoyment, hats off to them as they worked tirelessly all day. We booked direct with book tour Egypt and was cheaper than through trip advisor. Definitely a bucket list day. Got back to the hotel at 1.30am. Really long day but one to remember. Thank you tour Egypt.

Unforgettable!

It was an unforgettable experience. The true essence of Egypt. We left really early, they picked us up at five in the morning. After about an hour of flying (we were served water and snacks on board), we met our guide "Benedetto". I'm sure if the day was so beautiful it's also thanks to him. We were a small group of Italians and English and the guide translated everything he explained twice, with enthusiasm and competence (fluent in both languages), answered all our questions making the trips fun and interesting. First stop Egyptian museum. True, the visit lasts about two hours, but museum is packed and the day rich, so the priority is for "the highlights" but still the visit is pleasant and exhaustive. Lunch break in a restaurant (spartan but clean) with buffet service (drinks not included). Then we left for the pyramids and the sphinx. The guide was a treasure, he took beautiful photos of us (with our mobile phones, without asking for anything in return). Camel ride (even there they took pictures but insistently asked for a tip). Quick ride to a beautiful city market in the city (we were offered a drink made with sugar cane). Boat ride on the Nile after dark (nice experience). Last stop shopping center where we had dinner (at our expense) having two free hours and then left at 11:30 pm. Ask for Benedict, he's incredible! We booked all excursions with Egypt book tour and we had no problem whatsoever. They are always available and respond immediately if you have any questions or problems. I highly recommend
