Luxor main sites

Great experience with a great guide , Ahmed Omar was very knowledgeable, friendly and very engaging . If your looking for an experience at your own pace, without any rush , I could not recommend more this private tours , well worth paying that little extra but at least if you’re really interested in learning the history and culture of this beautiful land , nothing better then having a knowledgeable guide all to yourself 😄. Also shoutout to Mostafa , great driver , took us in all the spots in a fast and safe manner!

One of the best experiences in Egypt

Really excellent. The driver very respectful and very friendly. The guide, Saqqarias, of the best we had in Egypt. He was always very open to all questions. Lots of interesting information and was very patient and respectful in all the decisions we were making. Very very highly recommended. An excellent person with whom we share ideas, experiences and more. Thank you so much!

The Luxor trip itself was...

The Luxor trip itself was very impressive. The historical sites are extraordinary and definitely worth visiting. Our driver was excellent—very polite, calm, and a true gentleman. The driving was smooth and we felt safe and comfortable throughout the journey. The experience with the tour guide, however, was a bit mixed. The guide was knowledgeable, but his style felt somewhat dominant. At the Valley of the Kings, after we exited the last tomb we were supposed to visit, we did not see him outside. Since there were workers further down the path still excavating another tomb, we walked a bit further just to have a look at the area from the outside. When we returned, the guide seemed upset and said we had wasted time because we did not inform him. This reaction felt a little strange to us. We certainly were not trying to create problems for him or make him wait unnecessarily. We also did not expect the visit to feel so restricted or rushed. Because of this incident, the rest of the tour felt somewhat hurried. At both Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple—two incredible places—we only had a very quick visit and did not have enough time to fully appreciate them. Another unexpected stop during the trip was at an alabaster shop, which was not listed in the itinerary. We understand that guides sometimes bring visitors to local shops and we did buy something there, but it would be better if such stops were clearly mentioned in the schedule beforehand. As mentioned in my previous reviews, we also felt that the guiding itself could offer more depth. Many visitors prepare before coming to Egypt by reading books or watching documentaries, so we often hope for insights and stories beyond the standard explanations. One suggestion for Viator would be to provide clearer information about tour guides in advance—such as their experience level, specialization, or ranking—so travelers can better understand what type of guide they will be assigned. Overall, the sites themselves were unforgettable and the driver was wonderful, but with better pacing and a more flexible guiding style, the experience could have been much more enjoyable.

The experience was worth...

The experience was worth it, but the guide was not good or care about doing his job. He walked ahead of me the whole time and mumbled most the time even though he spoke perfect English. The tour only lasted 5 hours for a 8-9 hour tour. Very disappointing.

Great experience

Salwa was very helpful. We Enjoyed the over all experience. Took lots of photos and videos. Learnt a lot. Probably was too much information for a day trip. I would recommend to split to two days so you really take in all the information given to you and enjoy the beautiful scenes. We had to wake up 3am to catch the flight and the return flight is night 21:40. So we were very tired at the end of our trip.
