Good in parts

Great experience to see the stars. Our guides were very good, we have Adham and his knowledge was amazing. The downside - the toilets were horrific! I refused to use them. Also, no warning to wear sensible footwear. To see the sunset you climb up a narrow and very uneven path (well, not even a proper path). And the camel ride is a joke. I expected a camel trek, not get on a camel, ride in a circle for 2 minutes and get off. We didn't bother, it wasn't worth the hassle.

A lovely way to spend the day

We had a Beautful time in a beautiful place, a really fun experience going into the desert in a Land Cruiser to meet with the Bedouin people who showed us their way of life.

Curate's egg trip.... good in parts..!

The desert experience was superb, and would have been better if we hadn't had to endure the journey to get to it.. We are fit mid 70's, but the journey to get there , was one we could have done without, altho we acknowledge for many it would be integral to the experience. The journey there and back - 30 mins by road and an arduous 90 mins in a jeep, over very rough terrain, is not one we would want to experience again... We arrived at the desert site, with sore back and gypy tummies, so weren't up to the what seemed a lovely meal.... The walk around the site, climbing to see the sunset, was lovely... The guide Adham was lovely, and the resident astronomer was superb. He had 2 amazing expensive scopes, through which we saw Jupiter's rings, Saturns moons and the moon's craters in amazing detail.. The astronomer went on to laser point various stars and constellations and their impact on desert life, predicting the seasons for the bedouins, and their changing position in the sky. THIS was the trip for us, and not the jeep safari itself.... Just trying to give some pro-con balance to the experience... Would thoroughly recommend the desert/star gazing, but not the trip to get there... Note - the toilets were dreadful, and should have some upgrade.... For the organisers - We didnt expect posh, but these were awful... beware of the health implications...

Incredible.

Had a great time and it was a amazing trip well worth it. Jeep ride was incredible and the camp for the stargazing was out of this world.

Amazing bedouin experience

We were picked up early to make sure we were all there on time. We started off with a ride in the desert which started calm and then our driver moved up the speed and excitement by driving fast over the hills. Very cool, luckily he is a very skilled driver so we had no worries. Eventually entering the bedouin home we received nice strong tea, you had the option to ride a camel or go directly to the mountain to see the sunset. There is an option to buy items that are made by the bedouin family themselves. We had an amazing dinner, i still long for the kofte. We then saw the stars, planets and got information which was cool, weather could be better but that is out of their power. Great experience, great team!

Good - weather permitting

We drove in the dessert for approx an hour before getting to a little village. We had the option to ride a camel for 2 minutes before climbing up a hill to watch the sunset. We watched the locals make bread and met a baby camel. Looking through the telescopes we saw various planes and the moon. It would of been better had it not been so cloudy but this is our of their hands. They gave a talk about constilation which was very informative. We then were offered dinner in a candle lit environment. The only minor is how short the camel ride is and no water being provided.

Great trip! A very successful day. Jeep rides are not for the faint-hearted. The food was delicious. I've never seen the stars so well.

THREE HOUR BUS JOURNEY THERE BECAUSE TOUR GUIDE COULDNT FIND PICK UPS

Very honest review to set your expectations In mini bus for 3 hours whilst looking for other people's addresses in el gouna no explanation to what was happening on the trip. We also picked up a gardener and a secruity guard to try help find these addresses and wasted more time dropping them off instead of ringing the customers. This meant we missed the sunset completely and the camels as we arrived at 5pm. Driving through the desert the driver picked up speed to try and get there before sunset but we didn't make it which we expected since we were looking for addresses in el gouna for over 1 hour. We also squeezed in an extra person who didn't fit in van and was also late. Absolutely disgustingly hot with no ac which would have been fine had it not been an overcrowded van for three hours and squished together. No toliet break was offered the whole time. Very very very uncomfortable van again would have been fine had it not been three hours, again nothing was explained. Never got to star gazing until 5pm sun already down couldn't ride camels as they we asleep by the time we got there, the Whole point was so my partner could ride into sunset which we had planned, so was an absolute waste of time and money. thank god it wasn't expensive but asked for a partial refund to compensate. I wish we had not booked or at least gone with another company. When we got here everyone had been here for 1 hour or more and rode the camels and had sunset We were really looking forward to this trip and was ruined by the three hour drive there from Central hurghada. Absolute shambles please make sure if you are booking not to use this tour guide. Or at least check that they know the areas they are picking up from or how to use Google maps as the other people who were there And done the full trip enjoyed the sunset and camel ride. Its a shame we didnt as this was one of the main reasons we booked for a sunset camel ride as well as stargazing. With regards to dinner don't expect Michelin star, it is the desert but it is very good, there is chicken, sausage, rice, salads and oranges and you are offered water and coca cola. The candlelight in the desert is nice also whilst eating your food. They have two telescopes set up in the desert and before it is even dark fully they ask you to come and look through it before dinner. Once it gets dark though, there are lots of stars and it's amazing. The star gazing talk once it gets dark is also very good and your guide will point out the different constellations. Someone proposed on this trip too which was really cute. The drive back was approximately an hour so it wasn't too bad as the tour guide knew where he was dropping off the people in El Gouna. Its a shame it was three hours on the way there and missed the sunset and camels as I think it may have been a good trip. My advice would be to go with a tour guide you know that someone has used personally and have recommended them to you, or check if they are picking up only from hurghada or know the route for pickups as we have asked viator for a partial refund since we missed some of the trip as the tour guide couldn't find the customers to pick up.
