Overview

After visiting the Pyramids of Giza, visit the Great Sphinx, by far the largest surviving sphinx. It consists of a human head on the body of a lion. The Sphinx was carved from the remains of a limestone hill that served as a quarry for the Great Pyramid of Cheops. Felucca cruise on the Nile is available for a fee.

What you'll see

  1. Hurghada
    Pass by

Around 4am you will be picked up from your hotel. Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be met by your guide who will accompany you throughout the tour.

  2. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo
    2 hours, 20 minutes

Meet your Egyptology tour guide at the museum to begin your day. Visit the state-of-the-art Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the world's largest archaeological museum with over 100,000 artifacts, or the Ancient Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. Select your preferred museum during the booking process.

  3. Grand Egyptian Museum
    3 hours

Meet your Egyptology tour guide at the museum to begin your day. Visit the state-of-the-art Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the world's largest archaeological museum with over 100,000 artifacts, or the Ancient Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. 4. The Pyramids Of Giza
    3 hours

The further course of the excursion takes you to the great pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. The tour of the pyramids ends at the Sphinx and the temple surrounding it. At the end of the day, if time permits, you will have the opportunity to go shopping before embarking on the return journey to Hurghada.

  5. Khan Al-Khalili Bazaar
    1 hour

If the return flight from Cairo is late in the evening, we will spend some time visiting the London of the Middle Ages (Khan el Klalili market), Old Cairo, recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage list, or Cairo Festival City, an extra-large shopping mall (air-conditioned), one of the largest in the Middle East. Full of the most famous international brands, restaurants, cafes and a huge colorful dancing fountain, where you will be drawn to Cairo's chic, modern nightlife.

  7. Cairo
    45 minutes

If we have time, we can make two characteristic visits to the Papyrus Museum and the Essential Oil Factory. These two attractions will familiarize you with the ancient Egyptian techniques of making papyrus and essences. These two interesting visits will increase your knowledge of daily life in ancient Egypt and will also be helpful to the Egyptian farmers who work in these sectors and preserve these very old handicrafts from ancient Egypt. (These visits depend on the time remaining.)

Thank your Me Fahmy

We had a great day in Cairo started off with a camel ride infront of the pyramids then went on to explore the pyramids, Sphynx and Grand Egyptian Museum. Mr Fahmy was brilliant! He was so knowledgable, knew all the best spots, he cut out parts of the tour that were designed to sell stuff to us instead we experienced the “real Cairo” where we walked through the markets at night where he pointed out the old mosques. We also had a cruise on the river Nile. The whole tour was amazing and unforgettable from start to finish, thank you again Mr Fahmy from the twins

Mr Fahmy, great guide

We was little bit worried about booked this as we hadn't heard anything until the day before. Then we got sent our flight details and pickup times. We had Mr Fahmy, a very knowledgeable and experienced guide. We saw everything we had wished for plus more. He would regroup everyone to make sure noone is lost and shout "Mr Fahmy, Mr Fahmy" that will ring in my head forever. 😆 It was a bit chilly in the evening so best take a jacket. A long, tiring but very enjoyable day

Great day, great experience

Great experience visiting the pyramids, museum and a boat trip on the Nile (+£10each)! Our tour guide (Mr Fahmy) was knowledgeable and kept us moving to make the most of the long day. Everything went smoothly and the experience was amazing. Had to pay an extra €24 for the new museum which wasn’t apparently included in the price but to be honest it was worth it :)

Phenomenal tour with the incredible Mr Fahmy!

We had an INCREDIBLE day with Mr Fahmy on our tour of Cairo. While the sites themselves were obviously amazing, it was Mr Fahmy himself who was without a dought the highly of the day. He was a phenomenal tour guide (without a doubt the best by far we have had on several trips to various parts of Egypt). You could really tell he was genuinely invested in making sure we had an amazing time and was so passionate about his work. Every moment of the day was spent seeing or experiencing something new, exciting or interesting and I came away with a much deeper understanding of Egyptian history and culture. He also made the day so much fun as well, taking amazing pictures and generally keeping such a positive atmosphere. The tour itself is perfect if you really want to smash out the main historical sites in one day but was paced really well so by the time you start to get a bit tired, something relaxing and restorative is around the corner. I am very happy we took the option with flights rather than driving, it's an action packed day and doing a 6/7 hour coach ride either way would have impacted the enjoyment of it. I also cannot overstate how much I appreciated not being taken to papyrus museums, perfume shops or any other thing like that where you are basically there to try and make you buy stuff. From previous experiences I honestly thought that was inevitable on tours in Egypt but it was such a relief and so much better spending all our time doing really interesting and additive experiences. We went as a couple and had an amazing time, and our group included families and solo travellers and everyone enjoyed it, so I think whoever you are with it's a really excellent excursion. The only thing I would say is that it is a long and quite active day, so if you have very small children it might be a bit much. Overall, this is without a doubt the best tour I've ever done in Egypt and one of the best I have done anywhere. I really could not recommend it and our incredible guide Mr Fahmy more!

Stay away from Book Tour Egypt!

You should know that Egyptian guides have a habit of making you waste time in shops near tourist attractions to get you to buy things (then surely they will have their "tip" from the shopkeeper. Well, the guide who fell to us did not warn us that the GEM closed at 16, made us waste more time than we should at the pyramids, he gave us a tour of a perfumery where a friend of his tall and ninety with an unsavory face held us hostage for almost an hour, made us eat calmly, finally let us enter the Egyptian museum 20 minutes before it closed. We haven't even seen Tutankhamun's hall! Basically because of a delinquent guide one of the two purposes of the visit to Cairo was missed. Stay away from Book Tour Egypt

Cairo - Highlights in timelapse , extras possible

Very good organization/supervision/communication via whatsapp from hotel pickup in Hurghada via flight, excursion support until arrival back in Hurghada hotel. Cairo is so rich in content to experience, our tour guide has compressed everything well. Unfortunately with some annoying sales stops. Hotel 3*** with pyramid view, but getting used to location. Very friendly staff and good dinner on the roof terrace. Upgrade was unfortunately not available. Price/performance unbeatable.

Great impressive excursion

Jakob told us a lot of interesting things about Egypt and planned the day perfectly. He har given good good tips and prepared us a great day. Cairo he brought us super closer, and flexibly guided us through the city. Our driver Mohammed also proved his driving skills in the chaotic Cairo traffic. The food was also delicious 😋 Great team, thank you !!
