Fun, brilliant guide, was a lot better than I thought it could be

We had a really good day exploring what Luxor had to offer! Our guide laila was amazing and really knowledgeable! She knew everything about the area and had some great stories to tell! Would highly recommend this tour to any one thinking about taking it! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would

Valley of the Kings trip Luxor

Had a great day! our guide Achmed was fabulous very knowledgeable and answered questions really well, it was lovely to be on a small tour with only 7 people total. Our drivers were also great (sorry can't remember their names) would definitely recommend this tour company!

Absolutely worth it

We had an amazing time! We booked a day trip from Marsa Alam to Luxor, quite the long ride but absolutely worth it. Our tour guide Leyla knew everything and was very engaged in showing us her favourite murals and chambers. Recommended tour!

Luxor Uncovered- A Perfectly Guided Experience

We booked a 2 day Cairo and Luxor trip with Book Tour of Egypt and it was really worth it. I highly recommend this tour agency. We are a family of four together with four others in a minivan. We started our journey from Hurghada and we were picked up around 4:30 from our hotel in Makadi. It was a 4 hour journey. A day before the trip we were informed about the program for that day and extra activity if we wanted like the felucca ride which is not part of the program. We stayed on a minivan and we also got free water drinks. The drivers are very patient and allowed us to stop to pee and get something to eat. I just wish that the drivers can also talk and understand also understand English so it’s easier for us to communicate. There were few stops along the way for police control and other checkpoints which made the journey longer but it was quite ok for it was for our security. When we arrived at Luxor there we met our tour guide Laila. She is very good in English and has a very depth knowledge about the Luxor history. She was very helpful, patient and made sure everything is well taken cared of. She made an xtra effort by taking pictures and very patient with my kids. I suggest that tour guides next time would wear something bright colors so it’s easier for us to see her as there were a lot of people and tour guides at the same time. She took us first to the Karnak temple and then we went on a Felucca ride to get to the other side of Luxor. We had our buffet lunch before we headed to the Valley of the Kings and Queen Hatshepsut where we ended our tour. Before we parted with the other group she accompanied us and helped us find a nice place to have our dinner and ordered the taxi for us to the airport. It was really a wonderful experience to see the beauty of Luxor.

Mixed experience, logistics generally ok, quality of guides varies. Don't book the 2 day tour, just stick with 1 day

Mixed experience, logistics generally ok, quality of guides varies. Luxor's sights and attractions are obviously amazing, and the main ones will be covered in this tour. First day was not very good. When we arrived in Luxor after a long bus trip, we had to tell the guide Laila 3x that we needed to use the toilet. She did not introduce herself, did not ask how are we doing, although she did offer water. I would say she is more focussed on "doing her job" rather than looking after her customers. She is knowledgeable in the history/explanations but not considerate. I asked her what time we would have lunch and she said it would be 1pm, but in the end it was 2pm. We were with two other groups (Italians) who were on a one day tour. We booked a two day tour but we had to follow the rushed timings of the one day tour until after lunch, and there was nothing more after we reach the hotel around 3pm. What is the point of the two day tour then if we have to rush like the one day tour for the first day? And then Laila spent a lot of time trying to sell us additional trips like the boat ride after lunch, banana island, Habu temple etc. she mentioned these at least 5-6 times before lunch which was very annoying. At valley of the kings she also "scolded" us for being late to meet back with the group even though she did not set a fixed time to meet, we have two young kids so naturally would be slower. Finally after lunch, now we understand why she kept trying to sell us the additional boat ride because it is very near to the lunch restaurant, but by then our kids were very hungry around 2pm. When I enquired about the tour I was told first day would end 4-5pm, really we finished at 3pm or 2:45 if we didn't take the boat. Second day was much better: the other guide Shady was very considerate, genuine, and much more patient in his explanations and guiding us around the various locations. Maybe it's because there are no other people. But then we were asked to pay extra £20 for a private transfer back to Hurghada, I said no need, but I didn't know they would put us on the public bus back to Hurghada (Go Bus) why is it not the big tour bus same as when we came to Luxor? Because of this we had to wait 1hr at the bus stop in Luxor and again 15 mins at the Hurghada bus station because the info about arrival time was not passed on to the driver despite me informing about it. I would say overall the logistics are good except for the bus/transfer on the 2nd day. But the first day being rushed around on the one day schedule is very poor, and the first day guide I cannot recommend. I understand it is a group tour, that's no problem to follow the group, but we did not know that we would be following the one-day tour timing on the first day. I thought it would be a group tour with other 2-day tour people, so that we could spend more time at each location at a more relaxed pace, otherwise what is the point of booking a 2-day tour if we still have to rush around? Overall I would not recommend a 2-day Luxor trip, stick with a 1-day (rushed) trip instead if you were to book it.

Very good guide

Everything went smoothly. Return pickup. Perfect. The guide was extraordinarily friendly and helpful and went to great lengths to explain everything and answered many questions gladly and in detail. Excellent. The lunch was also good. In any case, book the nilfahrt in addition.

Superb visits but organization to review

Mixed opinion on the organization: we were “forgotten” for the transfer then we had to share a car where there were not enough seats ... Namely: we booked “in small group” but the visit is done in small group only in Luxor. The transfer hurghada luxor is done in big bus what was not specified at the reservation. The return is therefore very long: we easily lose 1 hour to drop everyone in each hotel. The francophone guide in Luxor was great. The one on the big bus was appalling. The sights are great, but it's been a very long day.
