At 8:00 am Tour expert Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and drive to the south of Aswan which to enjoy Abu Simbel day tour from Aswan by air-conditioned vehicle. The two Temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique style, are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. They reflect the glory and grandeur of the new Kingdom. The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these temples from the flood. The Temple of Ramses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramesses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramses II.The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also Called Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God so in a symbolic way, the two Temples, that of Ramesses II and that of Nefertari, bring Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor and the Sun God together as one. Spend around 3 hours there then take the way back to Aswan

  2. 1 hour

Ramesses II variously also spelled Rameses[6] or Ramses, 'Ra is the one who bore him' or 'born of Ra', Koinē Greek: Ῥαμέσσης, romanized: Rhaméssēs, c. 1303 BC – July or August 1213; reigned 1279–1213 BC[7]), also known as Ramesses the Great, was the third pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt. He is often regarded as the greatest, most celebrated, and most powerful pharaoh of the New Kingdom, itself the most powerful period of Ancient Egypt.[8] His successors and later Egyptians called him the "Great Ancestor".

  3. 1 hour

This article is about the Egyptian queen and wife of Ramesses II. For other persons by this name, see Nefertari (disambiguation). Nefertari Nefertari, also known as Nefertari Meritmut, was an Egyptian queen and the first of the Great Royal Wives (or principal wives) of Ramesses the Great.[1] Nefertari means 'beautiful companion' and Meritmut means 'Beloved of [the goddess] Mut'. She is one of the best known Egyptian queens, among such women as Cleopatra, Nefertiti, and Hatshepsut, and one of the most prominent not known or thought to have reigned in her own right. She was highly educated and able to both read and write hieroglyphs, a very rare skill at the time. She used these skills in her diplomatic work, corresponding with other prominent royals of the time. Her lavishly decorated tomb, QV66, is one of the largest and most spectacular in the Valley of the Queens. Ramesses also constructed a temple for her at Abu Simbel next to his colossal monument there.

Thanks Chico + Mariem!

I recently went on a tour to Abu Simbel and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Our tour guide Mariem was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history and significance of the site, and our driver Chico was simply excellent. The 3 hour drive from Aswan to Abu Simbel can be quite long, but Chico made the journey feel effortless with his expert driving and friendly demeanor. He made sure we were comfortable throughout the journey and even stopped for a rest break halfway through, which was much appreciated. When we arrived at Abu Simbel, Mariem took us on an amazing tour of the site, sharing fascinating insights and stories about the temples and their significance in ancient Egyptian history. She was patient with our questions and made sure we got the most out of the experience. Overall, I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Aswan. The combination of an excellent driver like Chico and an outstanding guide like Mariem makes for an unforgettable experience. Thank you to the team for a wonderful day! P.S. I must mention that my only complaint was the lunch add-on for 15 USD per person. Unfortunately, this price was around 5 times more than the listed price in the restaurant for a half-size portion suitable for a child! However, I must clarify that this was not the fault of the team but rather a deal between the tour company and the restaurant. I would suggest that you skip this option and pay for your own lunch instead.

An unforgettable day to celebrate our son’s birthday!

The experience is unforgettable. The history that Egyptians have created over the many centuries can not be forgotten. We had an excellent driver and host for our excursion and will never forget this day. Your driver was patient, courteous and helped us in many ways. We all thankful that we took this tour plan with Viatour.

Perfect Abu Simbel

Perfectly organized trip - we took the 7:00 am option and there was no crowd. The vehicle was new and well cleaned, air-conditioned. The driving experience was very good. We were given 2.5 hours, which was the perfect duration for these temples. Definitely will recommend the service! Plamen and Yoana

Great trip, worth the money

Nice trip, and great driver. There was a bit of confusion and delay at the pickup, and the AC broke and couldn't be repaired (he tried hard), but that can happen. We liked it a lot and would recommend it to everyone.

Tour guide Samir made...

Tour guide Samir made this trip perfect. He explained history of both temples and drew a map for navigating inside.

Good but can get cheaper locally

Great tour. Abu Simbel is fantastic. You can book a driver to the location from a local hotel for a fraction of the cost of this tour.

Awesome trip

The driver has a great hospitality. Even if you don't add a tour guide option, you can enjoy the trip to Abu Simbel.

Expensive uber ride

It was not mentioned that guides are not allowed inside the temple, we were just given a quick rundown on what to expect inside

Abu Simbel is a must see

Abu Simbel is a MUST SEE! But we weren't impressed with this tour. It was unclear on where we had to meet our driver in the morning, so we ended up leaving an hour late. Our driver had a second person with him and before leaving the city, picked up a third friend. None of them spoke English and it felt like we were being taken advantage of by paying for people's free rides. Once at Abu Simbel, we didn't feel like our guide provided us with much information and didn't even accompany us to the 2nd temple. I understand that the guides aren't allowed into the two temples, but it seemed like he just dropped us off. Overall unprofessional. And he slept the entire ride home. I highly recommend taking the trip to Abu Simbel, but I wouldn't recommend this tour.
