An amazing trip to Alexandria from Cairo

Sayed Mahmoud once again showed exceptional hospitality during today's short tour of Alexandria by car, driven by Hamada Ramadan who was also equally as patient and accommodating. He walked me through beautiful places like the catacombs, the citadel of Alexandria as well as the library. Once again, Sayed never failed to answer all my questions, make pit stops for food/water, and tell me all the information regarding these locations. He has been my tour guide for 4 different tour days and he definitely has a knack for making tourists feel at home. He also (again) offered to take pictures of me for me since I was travelling solo this time. I would recommend Sayed to anyone who wants a private tour of Cairo/Giza/Alexandria. And when I head back to Egypt again in a couple of years, I will make it a point to have Sayed as my tour guide again. Thank you so much for making this Egypt trip so memorable and comfortable for a lady like me, Sayed!!!

Awesome trip to Alexandria. Awesome guide!

Just spent a WONDERFUL day in Alexandria. Catacombs. Pompey Pillar. Citadel. Library. Fresh seafood. The Sea. Well worth it! The history and sights are incredible, the Mediterranean was beautiful, and our tour guide Essam was AMAZING. With so much history in Egypt, it’s easy to miss important things or get overwhelmed with facts...or get pressured to pay for extra things. Your guide makes all the difference in Egypt. Essam was the BEST guide we had our entire trip.

The New Library of Alexandria

The best thing about the tour was the visit to the New Library of Alexandria (the only negative thing to comment was that the tour with the guide of the museum was already started) and the lunch of fish and seafood in front of the Mediterranean (which if you end all lunches cans of soda cost 2/3 USD when in a kiosk they cost less than 0.4 USD. The Fortress built with the remains of the ancient lighthouse we only photographed from the restaurant and its surroundings, and the guide told us its brief history. The Maha guide and the Mohamed driver lived up to it.

Excellent tour and guide

You will see a lot of things on this tour. Our guide Esraa was amazing, she was very knowledgable, and the driver was excellent given the headache-inducing driving style in Egypt. I highly recommend this!

Must See Alexandria!

Adel Hakem of Emo Tours took us on another tour today. This time we took a two hour ride in a super clean and comfortable van. Joe is a great driver and I feel like he is endlessly running errands for my kids. Anyway, we slept on the early morning drive. Woke up and we were in Alexandria! Saw the Med Sea and it is the most beautiful colors! The catacombs are amazing — I could have spent all day exploring the underground maze and studying the artwork. We definitely needed Adel though because we would have gotten lost inside without him. The Citadel was fun for the kids. It looks like a giant sandcastle next to the sea! And the views are five star! Lunch at Fish Market was delicious! Don’t be afraid of the whole fish — just eat it and you will be happy! And the white pita is soft and delicious. My kids took the leftover bread back to the car to eat — not letting any deliciousness go to waste. If you want to touch the Mediterranean Sea, now is the time to do it before you go into the city. I’ve been looking forward to going to the Library of Alexandria my entire life and what a treat to experience it. However, only persons 16+ are permitted to see the entire facility. Because I had my young children with me, we were very limited in where we could roam. You even have to make a reservation to access the kids room. Also, the bookstore/gift shop at the library is greatly lacking in any souvenirs related to the library itself. I ended up buying a book written in French just to have a picture history to take home. On the ride home we saw petroleum factories and a salt lake from which salt is harvested. The day trip to Alexandria was amazing but you could definitely spend a few days here. Adel and Joe were amazing as siesta making sure our every need was met. We met many other tour groups along the way today and they all said hello to Adel and said we were with the best guide — and it was fun to meet people from all over the world coming to see ancient Egypt just like us!

We had great time

We took day trip to Alexandria from Cairo/Giza area. Adel Hakem was our tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and friendly and I will highly recommend him. During our return at last minute my kids wanted to go to the beach and touch the Mediterranean sea and he accommodated that too.

Awesome day in Alexandria with Marwa

A great day in Alexandria through Egyptian/Greek/Roman history. Marwa was the best tour guide you could wish for. Very friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and make sure we had an awesome day. Learned a lot from her through out the tour. She was very knowledgeable and informative. Asked her to help us buy a specific souvenir, she made it happen and helped us negotiate the price. Lunch was at an excellent sea food restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean.
