Très belle journée, les visites sont magnifiques. Le guide était sympa, parlait peu français, donc pas toujours facile de comprendre ses explications, surtout pour les enfants.
Le repas du midi était très bon, restaurant "paris".
Prévoyez bien de l'eau pour la journée, elle ne sera pas fourni et la chaleur est bien au rdv... J'avoue qu'en milieu d'après midi, ça devenait difficile... Mais tout est grandiose, on s'en prend plein les yeux !

Rewarding Day for Parents and Kids
We had a great day out with Salwa, our guide, and Elsam our driver. They were waiting for us in the hotel lobby at the agreed time, and proactively introduced themselves. The car was enough space for our family of 4 and nicely climate controlled. They also provided plenty of cold bottled water.
Salwa gave us introduction as we headed to the first site, Karnak Temple. With strategic planning they were able to keep us ahead if the large tour buses for as long as possible. Karnak was wonderful and Sales pointed out so many unique details that we would have missed without a guide. She was also very patient with our children of 5 and 8 years who wanted to run and explore.
After Karnak we headed to the Valley of Kings and Elsam keep us on track. Salwa arranged a nice intro for us with some visuals and actually managed to get the kids excited for what we were about to see with some highlights to look for in the tombs. She was also very thoughtful to help us arrange the transportation in the tombs and to stay in the shade as much as possible because it was already getting hot. The tombs were great to see and so much more interesting because we knew what to look for.
Salwa steered us away for the shops selling mass produced trinkets, and next took us to a stone carving store. I know it was very tourist focused, but the men helping us were so very thoughtful not to make it feel like pressured forced sales or tips. They also had clean toilets (Salwa advised us to skip the public toilets at the tombs in favor of here) and extra refreshments. In the end we bought a few things and they were probably more expensive, but the price felt fair for tourist shopping.
Elsam, who was always waiting a short walk from the exit of each site, then drove us a short way to The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. Salwa again pointed out great details and helped take family photos.
Then it was time for lunch. Although the restaurant was crowded, Salwa made sure we got food as fast as possible, and it was by far the best Egyptian food we'd had up to this point.
We had one more stop after lunch at the Luxor temple back in town. It was really getting hot so we kept it relatively short, but still saw highlights and learned more if the history thanks to Salwa. She also helped us arrange a hieroglyphic necklace for our daughter with her name and she picked it up while we finished looking around the temple. It was a really special way to end the day and very reasonably priced. They then dropped us back at the hotel after a really rewarding day. Again I really appreciated both of their patience with our small kids and their professionalism and knowledge. I would gladly recommend this tour to friends and family.

Belohnungstag für Eltern und Kinder
Wir hatten einen tollen Tag mit Salwa, unserem Guide, und Elsam, unserem Fahrer. Sie warteten zur vereinbarten Zeit in der Hotellobby auf uns und stellten sich proaktiv vor. Das Auto war genug Platz für unsere 4-köpfige Familie und schön klimatisiert. Sie lieferten auch reichlich kaltes Flaschenwasser.
Salwa gab uns eine Einführung, als wir zur ersten Stätte, dem Karnak Tempel, fuhren. Mit strategischer Planung konnten sie uns bei den großen Reisebussen so lange wie möglich vorne halten. Karnak war wunderbar und Sales wies auf so viele einzigartige Details hin, die wir ohne Guide verpasst hätten. Sie war auch sehr geduldig mit unseren Kindern von 5 und 8 Jahren, die laufen und erkunden wollten.
Nach Karnak ging es ins Tal der Könige und Elsam hielt uns auf Kurs. Salwa arrangierte ein schönes Intro für uns mit einigen Visuals und schaffte es tatsächlich, die Kinder für das zu begeistern, was wir in den Gräbern sehen wollten. Sie war auch sehr nachdenklich, uns zu helfen, den Transport in den Gräbern zu organisieren und so viel wie möglich im Schatten zu bleiben, weil es schon heiß wurde. Die Gräber waren großartig zu sehen und so viel interessanter, weil wir wussten, wonach wir suchen sollten.
Salwa lenkte uns weg für die Geschäfte, die Massenartikel verkaufen, und brachte uns als nächstes zu einem Steinhauerladen. Ich weiß, es war sehr touristisch fokussiert, aber die Männer, die uns halfen, waren so sehr nachdenklich, dass es sich nicht wie Zwangsverkäufe oder Trinkgelder anfühlte. Sie hatten auch saubere Toiletten (Salwa riet uns, die öffentlichen Toiletten an den Gräbern zugunsten von hier zu überspringen) und zusätzliche Erfrischungen. Am Ende kauften wir ein paar Sachen und sie waren wahrscheinlich teurer, aber der Preis fühlte sich fair für touristische Einkäufe.
Elsam, der immer nur einen kurzen Spaziergang vom Ausgang jeder Seite wartete, fuhr uns dann ein kurzes Stück zum Leichentempel der Hatschepsut. Salwa wies nochmals auf tolle Details hin und half Familienfotos zu machen.
Dann war es Zeit zum Mittagessen. Obwohl das Restaurant überfüllt war, sorgte Salwa dafür, dass wir so schnell wie möglich Essen bekamen, und es war mit Abstand das beste ägyptische Essen, das wir bis zu diesem Punkt hatten.
Wir hatten noch einen Halt nach dem Mittagessen im Luxor Tempel zurück in der Stadt. Es wurde wirklich heiß, also hielten wir es relativ kurz, sahen aber trotzdem Highlights und erfuhren dank Salwa mehr über die Geschichte. Sie half uns auch, eine hieroglyphische Halskette für unsere Tochter mit ihrem Namen zu arrangieren und sie hob es auf, während wir uns im Tempel umsahen. Es war eine wirklich besondere Art, den Tag zu beenden und sehr preiswert. Sie haben uns dann nach einem wirklich lohnenden Tag wieder im Hotel abgesetzt. Auch hier schätzte ich sowohl ihre Geduld mit unseren kleinen Kindern als auch ihre Professionalität und ihr Wissen. Ich würde diese Tour gerne Freunden und Familie empfehlen.

Unforgettable day tour in Luxor with two excellent, professional gentlemen. Mahmoud is an amazing guide. With his narrative he led me on a trip back in the times of Ancient Egypt. He is very knowledgeable and offers so many interesting insights and possible explanations behind historic events. Mustafa is a great driver, he took us around safely.

The best Guide I have had so far
Salwa was an incredible guide and photographer! She was incredibly knowledgeable and was very accommodating. Abd Rahbo was a great and safe driver. I enjoyed my time with them both and was so appreciative of their hospitality throughout the trip. It was an amazing way to spend the day in Luxor. Lunch was incredible and very appreciated at the end of the long day.

Die Erfahrung war ausgezeichnet. Die zusätzliche Gebühr für König Tuts Grab war es absolut wert. Ich hoffe wirklich, dass unser Fahrer und Guide über viator für ihre Dienste gut bezahlt wurden.
