Fab private tour to Luxor with great lunch and boat ride included!
Can’t rate the tour high enough. Our driver picked us up super promptly in a lovely car for just the two of us and always had cold drinks on hand. Our guide Samira was excellent. Really knowledgable, gave us loads of interesting extra facts and took a lot of lovely photos of us while we were looking around everywhere which she also sent to us later. We visited 3 tombs in the Valley of the Kings and had the option to do extra but didn’t bother. Then we visited Hapshetsut’s temple, which is just insanely amazing. We then visited an alabaster factory/shop, which although we probably paid a bit more for a small vase from the shop than we maybe should have (we’re not really hagglers) the experience of speaking to the shop keeper and learning about how they make the alabaster and other stone works was really interesting and a lovely, novel experience. We then had a lovely buffet lunch on a roof top with the most amazing view before visiting the last temple and having a private boat ride on the river Nile. Samira provided so much additional insight and knowledge, she really made the tour for us. Handy tip, make sure you have some Egyptian notes (or own currency notes not coins, as they are unable to use them) to tip people such as the driver, tour guide, boat driver, and to pay for the drinks at lunch. Honestly, we felt this tour was very cost effective for it being private for just the two of us and would really recommend to anyone looking to visit Luxor.

Comfortable private tour to Luxor
At first, we were a bit skeptical about booking trips in Egypt, but as soon as we met our driver, Mahmoud ElSaway, in the morning, all doubts disappeared. He was waiting for us with a comfortable car and AC, and the desert drive to Luxor was smooth and relaxed, with drinks offered along the way.
In Luxor, we were greeted by our guide, Ahmed ElSisi, who provided us with lots of useful and interesting insights about the places we visited – the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Temple of Amun.
We also stopped at an alabaster workshop, where hundreds of hand-crafted stone objects are displayed. This wasn’t part of the official schedule, so it was a surprise stop. You can buy souvenirs there, but it’s absolutely NOT obligatory. Tip: if you do want something, don’t be shy to haggle a little.
Lunch was at a restaurant with a buffet that felt very much like an all-inclusive hotel – nothing fancy, but tasty and satisfying. The short boat ride on the Nile was another highlight, even if it didn’t last very long.
Overall, if you’re looking for a private and safe trip to Luxor, this company is a great choice. One small (and kind of funny) thing that might feel unusual for European tourists: the guide will ask to take a few photos of you holding the company’s name for their promotion. Apart from that, everything was excellent.
One last tip: be prepared to deal with locals around the sites who will often ask for money if they take a photo of you or try to “sell you more.” In other words, bring your sharp elbows and a polite but firm “no, thank you.”

Good Choice of Trip to Luxor
We had a wonderful day on this trip. Our driver, Mahmoud ElSaway, arrived on time and kept us great company along the way. In Luxor, we met our guide, Ahmed Elsisi, who took us to see the historical sights. He showed us around and shared a lot of interesting information about life in ancient Egypt. Everything was relaxed, and we felt safe throughout the trip.
One thing to mention: as Europeans, we would have appreciated being informed in advance about avoiding interactions inside the tombs. At one point, a local took our phone, put a special hat on us, took pictures without our consent, and then asked for money. We understand this is part of Egyptian culture, and it’s fine when it’s a service we actually request—but it felt inappropriate inside such a historical site.
Also, note that there was a stop at an alabaster factory. It was interesting to see how the products were made, but good to know in advance that the visitors are expected to buy something (we purchased a small statue; prices are negotiable).
Overall, we really enjoyed the trip and would definitely choose this company again. Thank you, Mahmoud and Ahmed, for a great experience!

Highly Recommend: Mahmoud ElSaway & Professor Ahmed Elsisi
Me and my friend took the private tour of Luxor. Our driver, Mahmoud ElSaway, took us from Hurghada to Luxor and back. As a group of two women, we felt incredibly safe and comfortable. He arrived on time and was an excellent driver. We especially loved his Arabic playlist. It was 🔥. Once in Luxor, we meet our brilliant Egyptologist, Professor Ahmed Elsisi. He was very knowledgeable and has a true passion for the history of the region. Professor Elsisi was our guide through the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's Temple, and a memorable Nile river cruise. He brought the ancient world to life with his elaborate storytelling. Both Mahmoud and Professor Elsisi were absolutely wonderful. Their professionalism, kindness, and expertise made our trip one-of-a-kind and well worth it.

Heißer Tag in Luxor
