Sehr schöne Reise
Talaat Abdo

Most Deceptive Tour posting with the most untrustworthy people I have ever met
Firstly, the posting is a different boat, when I was booking the tour I was expecting the boat in the pictures, which seemed newer and clean. Yet upon approval we actually got a much older ship which was very old, and slow. This is very misleading and deceptive. The shower was leaking water outside into the washroom, not to mention the shower was very small, the beds were small, not the same as the pictures. The carpets smelled like they haven't washed them in years. The cruise will use A LOT of incense to try to hide the smell, it is very strong and over powering.
When we first arrived on the boat we had a "meeting" with the tour guide "Talaat" . He went over the itinerary and mentioned we needed to pay for the tickets if we wanted to go to all the temples for 105 USD. (Which is the correct price, adding up the entrance fees of all temples) then he mentioned some kind of tip for the crew of $25 USD per person. We declined this, but he tried to push this matter too much, we got very annoyed and this started the cruise with a bad taste in our mouths. Why should I pay a tip for the "crew" to do their job? This is all before the cruise even started. Shameful. We are treated like walking banks to the people of Egypt; they are extremely money hungry.
He also offered an optional tour to the Nubian village, which was also declined, again at an inflated price of $25 USD per person.
The food, the chicken was dry the entire time, overall the food was just edible, not very good, we all got stomach issues due to the food here on our last days on the cruise. We only ate food on the ship.
The tour, only reason this post is getting 2 stars is because the locations were nice, temples were nice, and a good selection of the top temples and tombs to visit.
The tour, almost each day there is one or two "special experiences" but in reality, they just take you to some store with highly inflated tourist prices and put on a show and try to get you to buy something, I was forced to go through, perfumes, spices, and "hand made" stone souvenir shop. This is not mentioned in the itinerary and it was just a waste of time. Quite obviously the tour company is getting a percentage since there are always tourists being sent to these stores.
There are big issues with the timing of the tours to the temples, most days we are waking up at 3-4am, just to catch the temple very early, this also ensures we don't get a proper breakfast, as a substitute, they will provide "breakfast boxes" these are terrible, it's just a bunch of bread and cheese, some fruits, they do not taste good, it's like eating sand paper. This just feels like a way for them to save money by not having breakfast for the boat.
We only got one proper breakfast, which was the best meal, only once on the ship. Waking up this early also makes us feel like the cruise is a task and not relaxing at all. Even if it is “compressed”, if it was so compressed why are we wasting time on “shopping trips”.
We had booked the hot air balloon, but it was canceled, which is not the fault of the company, it was due to weather. For some odd reason the hot air balloon is near the Luxor airport, so if the wind is blowing in that same direction it will get cancelled.
Lastly, I don't understand how this tour got so many high reviews, as we were talking to another person on the cruise, they mentioned tour guide Talaat literally stole the phone from this poor lady and wrote a 5 star review about himself. This is despicable and it makes you wonder if they did this for everyone else… he shouldn't be a tour guide, he was touching everyone during our trips, he even grabbed someone's Beard, this is very unprofessional, for this reason we tried to stay away as we don't want to be touched randomly.
I would stay away from this company at ALL COSTS.

READ THE BAD REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING
Review for Nile Cruise
2 stars only for the nice temple/tomb views, which has nothing to do with the tour company.
Beautiful temples and tombs, it’s definitely worth visiting, but if I could do it all over again, I’d prefer to do the tours by myself or book a slightly more expensive program with better quality and NOT with this cruise company again.
The cruise boat looks nothing like the photos. It is a pretty old boat compared to other ones we passed through, and it needs some major maintenance. Our shower was leaking and we had to dry the floor with towels every time we showered. Very strong incense smell, no care about sensitive or allergy to scents. Once the incense smell faded away, old carpet smell became overwhelming.
Like other reviews mentioned, be prepared to feel like a walking ATM and being ripped off for everything. A lump sum $25USD tips was pressed on us even before the tour started. They made it feel like it’s mandatory and it is the “international rule”. I understand that the itinerary did make a mention of the exclusion of gratitudes for the staff. But it is not right to charge a lump sum pre-determined amount BEFORE the tour starts. Shopping trip almost every day, it’s not about if they are free additions, it’s a waste of our time, and we had no choice but to go with the group since we are sharing the same car, no option provided to be dropped off back at the boat for people who don’t want to go.
Food variety was ok but we started having stomach issues after the first meal after we got on the boat. Waiters rushed to take our plates away. Table was not cleaned well after each meal, and I always found food crumbs from the previous meal.
Not the relaxing tour I was looking for at all. We had to wake up mostly at 3 or 4am, and won’t be done until 9pm. There was very little chance to get proper overnight rest. With the heat and packed agenda, we left the boat feeling extremely exhausted. Maybe make mention of these timing in the itinerary so guests know what to expect. I would not book this tour if I knew the agenda beforehand.
I was wondering how and why they got so much good reviews until I saw the guide taking others phone and submitting reviews for them, and the review was written by the same tour guide himself. I wonder how much more 5-star reviews were written like that…..
Since this is already a very long review, I only highlighted the points that agitated me the most. There are other people who wrote about more specific issues and cons, READ BEFORE BOOKING.

Great Guide and Tour
I recently went on a Nile river cruise on the boat Lady Carol. It was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant manager named Romie was especially kind and funny. I met the chefs while they were serving and they were very friendly as well. I really enjoyed myself on the boat but our guide Mina stands out. He's studying for his PhD in Egyptian history and he sure knows his stuff. He was a wonderful guide and I'm sure he told us things that other guides don't even know, and it really made the trip enjoyable. He took us to a spice store and it's a long story, but I'll just say the high points. I bought saffron, and yes I know it's very expensive, but this was Egypt so I was very surprised at the price, and something really just didn't seem right. But I was very tired and because we were in a group, I didn't make a big fuss. The next morning, I messaged Mina to tell him how I felt, but saying that it's over and can't be fixed, and I'd let it go. But when we came back to the boat from the temple, he immediately sat us down and said that he was responsible for everyone in the tour and what was happening to us on the tour. He said he'd called the spice man, he's taking a taxi and bringing his scale here to make sure that the saffron was the right weight.
The owner of the store showed up with his scale, and I told him that he wouldn't even have to weigh it because the fact that he was there with his scale was proof enough. He did weigh it and it was correct. I didn't read the scale right. Shouldn't shop when I'm tired! There's a lot more to this on Mina's part for doing everything possible to make sure I was satisfied, but Mina showed great integrity and follow through in addressing this situation, which was totally my mistake, and he didn't even get mad at me. He was pleasant and kind the rest of the tour.
Furthermore, when I did not get the refund from the hot air balloon he continued to help me with that, even though the tour was over. I must say that I think Mina was a great guide, a good person of quality and character, and I really enjoyed him. I highly recommend this tour. It was absolutely worth it and was wonderful on the Lady Carol. Thank you.
(Although I would word it differently because it says a 4 day river cruise, but you actually only cruise 2 days, but that's just me)

4 Night cruise
Overall the cruise was very nice. The food was alright and the staff were not the nicest people. I especially found myself having an issue with someone at the front desk, I believe his name was Radman. From the moment we stepped onto the cruise boat he had a horrible attitude with my friend and I, and would make comments and give us nasty looks. Another issue was our tour guide Mina. As a 20 year old female traveler it is already a bit unsettling to go to new countries by myself or with another female friend, so we thought having a tour guide would help. From the first day I could tell Mina was staring at me a little too much and singling me out from the rest of the crowd. On the 2nd night he text my what’s app and proceeded to tell me how beautiful I was and that I made him crazy from when he first saw me. With two days left on the trip this tainted my experience because now I was uncomfortable and had to be on this boat with him for two more days. He would ask if I had a partner, and after replying yes, he then asked if I planned on marrying my partner. He has a wife and two young kids. He then deleted his messages to me after I did not reply, and tried to talk to me 1 on 1 on the last day of the tour to say that he didn’t mean anything by the messages and that it was just a misunderstanding. I could’ve been okay with that, but the deleting of the messages to me shows that you have a guilty conscience and that you know what you did is wrong. I do think the cruise overall is good, and our group was amazing, outside of Mina. The temples were beautiful and you do not need to do each one. Keep track of the ones you do so you only pay for such. Our hot air balloon ride was also cancelled due to the wind. Uncontrollable but keep in mind you are waking up at 3:30 for a 50/50 chance of doing so.
