West Bank – The Necropolis of Thebes Valley of the Kings Your journey begins at the legendary Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of Egypt’s most powerful pharaohs. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a must-see, featuring elaborately decorated tombs that reveal the splendor of ancient Egyptian beliefs and artistry. During your visit, you’ll explore four royal tombs, including: The Tomb of Ramses IV – Famous for its vivid astronomical ceiling decorations. The Tomb of Ramses III – Featuring intricate wall reliefs and historical inscriptions. The Tomb of Merenptah – The grand burial site of Ramses II’s son. 15 минут

Entrance fees to the tomb of Tutankhamun (300.00 EGP) (optional) King Tutankhamun, the most famous king in the world. This young king from the New Kingdom was around 10 years old when he ascended the throne and died when he was only 19. You will get the chance to be face to face with his royal mummy in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings

  3. Tomb of Ramses III
    15 минут

The tomb of Ramesses III, designated as KV 11, is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. It has been known since antiquity, the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) and Ramses before the gods. Unusual here are the secular scenes, in the small side rooms of the entrance corridor, showing foreign tributes, such as highly detailed pottery imported from the Aegean, the royal armoury, boats and, in the last of these side chambers, the blind harpists that gave the tomb one of its alternative names: ‘Tomb of the Harpers’

  4. Tomb of Merenptah
    15 минут

In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the demiurge of Memphis, god of craftsmen and architects. In the or simply in its falcon form of the new deity, began to be placed in tombs to accompany and protect the dead on their journey to the West of Luxor .Tomb 8, which is located in the Valley of the Kings, was the burial place of the Pharaoh Merneptah and is the model of royal tombs Merneptah was a son of Ramesses II and Queen Isis-Nofret.the tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in 1903. Of coursethere is a material decrease in the number of lateral rooms, and a dramatic increase in the height of the corridors and rooms. He did away with the jogged axis used since the time of Horemheb and instead built the entire tomb on a single axis. Also, for the first time, the entrance was made considerably wider than earlier tombs .

  5. Tomb of Ramses IV
    25 минут

The tomb of Ramses IV (KV 2) in the Valley of the Kings is rather different than most other tombs built here. This tomb is by far the most spectacular of the other tombs you will see. The hieroglyphics on the wall depict scenes from the Litany of Ra, Book of the Dead, Book of Caverns, the Book of the Heavens, Book of Amduat, and the Book of the Night. The blue and white colors on the walls inside the burial chamber are very vibrant and you can see the king's sarcophagus made of rose-colored granite. There is also a beautiful scene of goddess Nut on the ceiling, where she is depicted swallowing the sun, and it traveling through her stomach, for Nut to give birth to it. The tomb has so much colour and detail even the ceiling above the sarcophagi with its goddess Nut stretching across the space. The sarcophagus is one of the largest in the valley, even though some of the paintings have deteriorated this is one of the most decorated.

  6. Temple of Hatshepsut
    1 минута

After visiting the tombs you will be transported to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el Bahari), the only woman ever to reign over Egypt as Pharaoh. Great guide and hassle free

The tour was amazing, our tour guide Khaled was knowledgeable and made the day really easy and stress free. He knew a lot about the history of all the places we visited and was able to answer all of our questions. We never felt rushed and had enough time in each location, Khaled also took some great photos for us.

Fantastic day in Luxor

This was the perfect tour of Luxor - all of the important sites with Ragab, our really knowledgeable guide. Ragab has experience as an Egyptologist and has worked at Valley of the Kings. He speaks English very well (and also Chinese!) and was really fun to spend the day with. And the lunch was amazing! I would highly recommend his tour!

We were lucky to have...

We were lucky to have Ragab as our guide. He is very knowledgeable. He was so kind, helpful, and made sure we saw everything we wanted, and we received special admissions from his experience and work at the tombs. The day was absolutely wonderful. We highly recommend him. Amazing experience. Thank you so much.

Exploring Luxor's Rich History with Khalid: A Day of Discovery and Insight

Khalid was our guide for a one-day tour, covering: • Colossi of Memnon; • Valley of the Kings; • Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut); • Tomb of Merenptah; • Tomb of Ramses IV; • Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari; • Temple of Karnak; • Obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut; • Luxor Temple; • Avenue of Sphinxes, etc. His sense of humor comes in handy with the storytelling skills to immerse you in the rich world of Luxor. He could show connections with other cultures and religions, and he was open to discussing other matters of Egyptian culture, answering all of our questions in detail and with well-founded arguments. It helps a lot to have a guide for at least one day; thereafter, you can explore the rest of Luxor on your own. Regarding the local connections with the alabaster store and postcards, I understand why he takes you there, but at the end of the day, it's up to you whether you want to buy something or not, and how much to pay for a fair trade piece. There's a delicate balance between being too pushy in this regard and letting you feel comfortable. It's a line which I appreciate he or the locals did not cross, as it sometimes happens with others in the region. Coming back to our guide, Khalid, in our dialogues, where mysteries are not yet revealed by science, he could propose a few hypotheses. You may agree or disagree with him, and you may have a different perspective on what's happening nowadays here and there, but how we approach it is important. Punctuality and adaptability are other relevant elements that made our journey a pleasant one. It was a full day but without feeling overwhelming.

Luxor’s main sights all in one day

Rajab has been a great tour guide. He has been very knowledgeable patiently answering all our questions and taking some great pictures of us along the way 🙂 This is a great way to learn about some of the biggest sights in Luxor. Thanks Rajab (and driver 👍)!

An educational tour around Luxor. 10/10

out of all the possible tours that are available this is by one of the best ones if you enjoy an in-depth historical and archaeological tour of Luxor. With multiple decades of expertise in the field, Abdul knew everything that there was to know about all the sights we visited. As a professor he was able to grab your attention and keep things interesting while also adapting to our pace. His excitement and engagement for the subject was phenomenal as well as the tour and language it was provided in. The lunch was fantastic and we had overall a very good time. It’s worth pay extra for this one. 10/10

The most amazing, fantastic and exciting trip ever

Best tour ever, the best Egyptologist Khalid and his driver Ramadan, very knowledgeable of the history of Egypt. Visited the East and West banks, the tour was amazing, lunch was great at the Africa restaurant. Khalid and Ramadan took us to the various sites and museums in Luxor, explained in detail every historical information, the sites were beautiful and much of the drawings and paint colors in the monuments, tombs and buildings were still well preserved, it’s a thing of beauty and definitely worth visiting, I will recommend this tour to every and anyone that is planning on traveling to Egypt. The largest temple of Egypt is in Luxor and is the Kandar, it is fascinating and beautiful, it’s an amazing site and Khalid makes you feel like you are actually in the time and moment of that time period.
