Great experience
Lovely guides and captain, great experience! The team is very energetic and committed to the job. The coordination around pick up and transfers was seamless. They’re probably the best ones at this.

Fantastic experience, but make sure you’re prepared.
We’d read lots of reviews prior to booking a Sunrise Hot Air Balloon ride. Here are our thoughts: - We were sent a text the day before asking if we would like the 4am pick-up or 6am pick-up. The push is to the later saying it’s less busy and the first will be all in the dark. We stuck with the 4am and found the opposite to be true! We got sunrise as we assented and it was quieter when we took off to when we landed. - You get shuttled around from bus-boat-bus to standing in a field in a somewhat chaotic fashion. I honestly don’t think there is a way of avoiding this, no matter what company you use. - There are lots of hagglers by the boats and as you get off the hot air balloon (kids are carted around in a minibus to the various landing sites). - The compartments in the basket of the hot air balloon aren’t big, but the sections mean everyone gets a great view! - The fire is HOT. We would advise taking a scarf or something to cover the back of your neck. - Seeing the balloons in the air as you watch the sunrise is like nothing else. It’s truly beautiful. We did our research and roughly knew what we were getting in for. The balloon goes down and then back up again (we’ve read that a few rides were short probably because they went too low and couldn’t rise back up again!). The journey itself was very gently and the landing was very soft. Our ride was 45 mins, but I’d say we were lucky. If you can prepare yourself for the chaos and the waiting it is 1000% worth it and not an experience to be missed.

It was worth the experience
The experience was worth having the view from the top of the Valley of the Kings of the desert and some of the incredible vegetation. Some points I didn't like: We booked the 50-hour tour, but due to the high season they were only offering 30 minutes so they could serve more people… The balloons are super crowded and become very unpleasant depending on which person is unable to see very well.
