we went with the white star boat to look for dolphins in a windy day, the guys have been wonderful and we managed to see them. We had 2 snorkeling sessions, the reef is amazing, if you have time do that

Dolphins and lots of fish
We saw dolphins and had 2 good snorkelling stops at reefs. The staff made sure everyone could snorkel if they wanted to. Good lunch and free soft drinks. Great day out

An amazing experience…Top notch services
I had an amazing time with the activities! Felix is a fantastic guide and made me feel super safe, especially as a first-timer. Everyone was professional, the food was great, and I felt safe even doing snorkeling for the first time. The whole experience was top-notch, the locations were breathtaking, and the crew made sure I was comfortable throughout 😊

Great trip & saw dolphins! 🐬
Boat crew were really nice & good fun. Was able to have a quick snorkel with a pod of 9 dolphins & baby - amazing. Snorkelling stops were good, plenty of different fish. Boat crew encouraged everyone to have a go & helped those that write not strong swimmers. Would recommend 👍🏻👍🏻

Everything as described, highly recommended
For 17 euros plus 5 euros national park fee per person we participated in this excursion at the end of December 2025 and were absolutely satisfied with the organization, procedure and the offered program. The minibus picked us up and guests from other hotels on time. In the harbour they were then all distributed to different boats and a little later the journey started. At the beginning, the procedure was explained and it was pointed out to memorize the boat name exactly. The search for the dolphins did not take long, as other boats had already tracked them down and our boat was now lining up there. While everyone on the bathing platform was equipped with a mask and flippers (available free of charge on board), the skipper maneuvered the boat so close to the animals that they could be seen underwater. Then the command came to jump into the water and everything got a bit hectic. The dolphins glide along rather leisurely by their standards. As a human being, however, it is exhausting to stay on even with fins. So it happened that the group was separated and since all boats look the same, some confusion arose. In the end, however, everyone was on the right steamer again! The animals were not particularly impressed by our presence in the water. Later, I learned that the dolphins had virtually slept. They take out one hemisphere of the brain, while the other ensures that they breathe and avoid obstacles. To what extent the engine noise and the maneuvering of about seven boats disturbed or stressed the dolphins, I cannot assess. In any case, there was no hustings, as could be read in some comments on such excursions. After the dolphin swim we continued snorkeling on offshore reefs (Abu Galawa). Both reefs were very nice. Of the announced 45-50 minutes, however, we were only in the water for 30 or 20 minutes. In between we had lunch, which was simple but tasty. During the trip, two photographers were on board, who later offered their products for sale and of course offered purchase incentives with targeted actions (above and below water).

Not correct information about tour
The main reason for us to join this tour was to see and hopefully swim with dolphins at the Dolphin House which was what was specifically stated in the tour information..The boat tour is said to be 7 hours, it was 5. There are two so called Dolphin houses, the north Sha'ab el Erg and the famous Sha'ab Samadai. We thus expected to go to the north one, which is reachable from Hurghada, about 45-60 minutes by boat. The boat departed at about 9.30 am, not 8 am which was the time in the tour information, and after only 10 minutes we stopped at the place where the dolphins were to be seen. Thus this place was not Sha’ab el Erg. There was no snorkelling there by anyone. We saw however one dolphin, which was sweet and lucky for us. Then we went for a while to another spot, where we were to snorkel. The reef looked a bit dull compared to the reef we snorkelled at a couple of days before, but there were fish. Then we had an ok lunch. The boat moved about 200 metres and that was the so called second stop for snorkelling. So if we had wanted only snorkelling and per chance spot a dolphin it would have been ok, but we expected, as the tour stated, to go to one of the two spectacular Dolphin houses with the chance to swim with dolphins, if they were there. Another couple we talked to shared our opinion and experience. We also payed nature reserve entrance fee, but as stated above, we were not at Sha’ab el Erg.

Great day out. Snorkelling was lots of fun with a variety of fish to see. Lunch included and drinks which was good!
