Great with reservations
Our guide Sherry was magnificent, knowledgeable, relaxed and totally reliable both in terms of practicalities and cultural wisdom. Five stars for Sherry and also for our driver, Mohammed. The day went well eventually and we saw or experienced most of the things on the itinerary. Buyers should realise however… 1. Balloon flight for us was significantly delayed and was well after Dawn, because they had to clear a backlog of wind related delays… it was a bun fight, but worth it as it was still beautiful and .. in a balloon! There were hundreds of people and dozens of balloons, it is clearly an industry, don’t think you’re special! It was a great experience though. Beware photographers - they will not let you take decent cameras on board, though mobiles are permitted… so much for the extra wide angle lens. (Contrary to what I’d read about the historical sites being forbidden for cameras, this is not true, cameras of all sorts were allowed, but no flash, understandably) 2. The private pickup from Hurghada is by a separate driver and the trip takes about 3-4 hours. If you go at night then you are technically travelling ‘illegally’ and the driver etc will have ‘arrangements’ to get you through - clearly this is commonplace. We were told this separately, so we may be wrong, but there were lots of security posts on the road trip. The hotel said that normally tours go out and return almost in a convey between set hours - not overnight. If you want security and confidence, book through your hotel. If you do this you will sleep overnight in Luxor. 3. If you leave as we did at 11.30 you will probably end up sleeping in a car park at the other end for 2+ hours while they get organised and if the weather is not suitable for a ballon, I guess you’re stuffed. You pick up the guide after the flight who shares a car with you. Only 3 of us so just a car, bigger if more. Finally, we seemed to loose lots of details once we paid for things and communications became a bit confusing, some texts, via WhatsApp were read, some weren’t and we ended up feeling very cautious. Our trip was, I think, run by Nice Tours who are commissioned by Viatours which is I think related to Tripadvisor in some way. We found that close to departing our booking had disappeared from our Tripadvisor account… we got suspicious. Anyway in the end all went well and we had a fantastic day, but be careful if you are at all stressy as it may be a bit of a rollercoaster. To leave on a high, ALL the people we dealt with directly, especially Sherry and Mohammed were fantastic, also the balloon pilot and ground crew. We were under no pressure to go to particular factories or emporiums but chose willingly to reject some and elect for others, no pressure. We look upon all such activities as either charity or ‘foreign aid’ and work on the principal that there is no such thing as a bargain, just a mutually recognised gamble… Recommended with reservations

A great time
The structure of the tour could do with a. It more thought. However the people on the ground were excellent. Bomba who drove us from Hurghada to Luxor was 5* Mr Ahmed Sissi the Egyptologist was very good and knowledgeable.

Excellent value for money and would highly recommend!
Excellent value for money and would highly recommend! Though the tour operator didnt confirm until the day, our driver (Think his name was Barajar) arrived promptly on time at 23:30. Though his English was a little limited, he was friendly and helpful, and we managed to communicate fine throughout. Though the drive was safe but long, the car itself was clean and reasonably comfy, and he stopped at a service station so we could have a comfort break about an hour/90mins into the journey. Toilets here are ok but is charged, so take small notes of Egyptian pounds. The driver also stopped at a couple of places of interest for photos, which was great as no other tourists were around at that time of night! The balloon ride was unforgettable! Though a lot of people were also there and could be a little chaotic with the bus transfers, it was still a great thing to do and a fantastic photo opportunity. The views were spectacular, and the pilot was friendly and informative. Next up was a tour of various sites with our driver and a guide called Hamid (I think that’s how his name is pronounced) who was absolutely lovely - so friendly and cheerful, and you could tell he enjoyed history. He recommended which tombs were worth visiting, and provided a clear history of the various places we visited. Take local currency to buy tickets for entry to all the places as only some had a working card machine. The boat ride was enjoyable and we had a whole boat to ourselves. The lunch which was included was at a lovely riverside restaurant, and provided a very nice buffet lunch with good variety. Food was tasty and seemed fresh. Be aware that you will have to pay for drinks separately which are sold at typical "tourist" rates (55LE or 3€/$ for soft drinks). The great thing about this private tour was the flexibility. For example we mentioned another place we'd like to visit nearby and as we were a little ahead of time they were happy to take us there. Overall I'm so glad I did this tour and would happily recommend.

If u stay in Hurghada and...
If u stay in Hurghada and want to cover Luxor with Hot air balloon in one day this this might be the only option..Pick up was timely. Overnight drive is bit exhausting but worth it considering the balloon experience..after the balloon ride we met with the guide Ahmed who was really nice and offered everything in the itenary but we skipped few items and it was our choice..on the whole a good trip to cover everything when u have only 1 day.

Highly recommended
Everything went smooth, from hotel pickup, transfer to Luxor from Hurghada, and way back. Balloons were awesome, and surprised me most. Walking through ancient buildings and tombs was fantastic and we have learned lots of things. A guide was at hand all the time and provided us with all interesting facts we needed.

Great Day Out
Communication was good. We were collected on time in a car at 00:00 The Tea advertised is a station stop and you must pay for this yourself. You are overcharged as tourists and the driver does not offer help in negotiating a fair price. On arrival in Luxor we transferred to a small minibus and taken to the hot air balloon. This was FANTASTIC. incredible views over the nile and the valley of the kings. The guide was then collected. Yolanda spoke perfect English and was highly educated with all things Egypt. Her passion for her country is abundantly clear. 10/10 We visited a few sites and temples which were GREAT. Arriving early means you miss the busy and hot periods of the day. However you must buy your own ticket in each place. Roughly 4 GBP per person. The Lunch was a buffet restaurant and was satisfactory. The Felucca ride is in-fact a motorboat ride so if this is important to you, please clarify with the tour company before making a booking, but the boat was private, well decorated and didn't affect our experience. we toured up the nile for about half an hour before visiting Luxor Temple. We left Luxor about 15:00 and arrived back in Hurghada about 19:00. We stopped again for a drink and snack in the service station and sadly were ripped off by the station owner. When we came to pay he charged 10x what we were charged in Luxor and the Driver was not willing to help AT ALL. We had to pay the man and left with a sour taste. PLEASE agree on a price before doing anything.
