Travel through the night to Mount Sinai to climb the mountain at night to see the sunrise from atop Moses’ Mountain. The descent after dawn to visit one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world, St. Catherine, built around the site of the Burning Bush.
We start at 23:00 in the evening, driving for 2 hours to the monastery and the mountain. We start climbing the mountain at 01:00 with our guide. We can enjoy looking at the stars while waiting for sunrise time to go up the mountain is 2 and half hours each way. Enjoy an amazing early sunrise over the monastery
After sunrise, we go down the mountain to visit the monastery of St. Catherine which is considered one of the most famous monasteries in the world, and also it’s one of the oldest monasteries of Christianity. It’s located in heart of the Sinai Peninsula at a height of 1570 meters in the place where according to the tradition Moses saw the bush on fire which didn’t burn up. The Monastery is Orthodox and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monastery dates back to the age of the emperor Justinian 6th century. It was the same time of building an enclosure wall surrounding the monastery right now but the monastery was named Saint Catherine at the beginning of the 11th century in honor of saint Catherine, one of the earliest Alexandria Christian martyrs. It contains several monuments like the burning bush seen by Moses and the remarkable Icons Gallery. Then return back to your hotel in Dahab.

For people who come from SEA like me, the weather at night is freezing cold, even it's in summer. Please be prepared, or you can rent a blanket from locals. The trail is easy to walk or even run.

The trip was perfectly organised. We got all the necessary details for the tour beforehand at the agency. All our other (partly unrelated) questions were answered with patience and always in a friendly manner. The price was fair and everyone involved was super friendly and professional. Definitely recommended.

The trip was alright from Dahab. At the mountain we got an awesome guide who come with us all the way to the top. The climb was tiring, but the sunrise was beautiful. After the walk down, we toured the monetary, which was fascinating. Recommend it to anyone, but you better be in good shape for the climb 😉

hike on the Sinai mountain (or Moses mountain) with a start late in the evening to see the sunrise at the top of the mountain - the local Bedouin hike with you at the top of the mountain >> 5 stars activity, must do. The driver picks you up and drop you off at your hotel. Activity reserved with Viator (46€), but you can find it way cheaper by reserving with your hotel (25€). In both ways of reservation you’ll be with people who reserved with different platform. Mandatory Equipment to take : head front light - walking shoes - very warm jackets and gloves.

Van seats were a little small, the guide was not an english speaker but a bedouine, we just followed his steps on the climb. The view was great, freezing up there, very warm clothing needed. Coffee and tea is very expensive there.

Was told to be in the lobby at 10pm, was finally picked up at 11 and driver didn’t even know my name. Our guide, Musa, was more of an escort than a guide. He didn’t share anything about history about the mountain and quit before the monastery tour and told us to just go in. Wouldn’t book with this company again

The Sunrise tour was very disappointing and Not what we expected. It was also dangerous in some Situations. We had further the feeling that we are alone on the trip. The driver didnt inform us about the Next steps and what are we doing for example he forgot to bring us To our Hotel. He noticed That after 1 hour. There was also a very Bad Communication between the Guide and the group. We didnt get necessary advice for the Tour. There was a Long distance between the leader and the last member of the group. He jumped forward and didn’t take Care of the last ones. It was also really dangerous because of the strong wind. The leader doesnt noticed. For that reasons we can’t recommend this tour for other people.
