Join us on this tour if you're looking for authentic, home-cooked and street Egyptian food in two different neighborhoods in Cairo. The first area is West Elbalad,downtown Cairo where will be meeting and kicking off with some national drinks. A sense of home-cooked food prepared like Egyptian grandmothers used to cook everyday is so nice. The second area is the iconic of the local Cairo where you can explorer Cairo off beaten pavement, the real lives of people, tuk tuks and the local markets. A sandwich of taameya like typical Cairenes use instead of falafel and a plate of Koshary are authentic experiences between locals! 6+ stops will let your belly dance with the Egyptian food. Such a fun evening eating like a local and trying all different types of food. We were treated like family so much so they even brought their girls to hang out with our kids after requesting the whole family to join. What an unforgettable evening!

Ahmed and his family were delightful. The whole family guided us on our tour since there were 2 kids of similar age on the tour. We ate so much traditional egyptian food that we were about to burst! We had a great time swapping stories and getting to know everyone on the tour. This is a great intro to egyptian food and is highly recommended.

Ahmed is friendly, and is a great conversationalist, knowledgable about culture and languages, besides Egyptian cuisine. He went that extra bit to help us explore and enjoy the food tour even more. Highly recommended!

What a great experience of local food and sites, Ahmed was an amazing guide, full of local knowledge and a great sense of humour. We were able to access places you would never dream of finding, forget the pyramids go on the tour and get to meet the locals! Five star.

A fantastic food tour in Cairo! Host Ahmed was friendly, knowledgeable, and took us to the hidden spots downtown to experience traditional Egyptian food. Delicious food and great company - would absolutely recommend. And check out their cooking class as well!

Such a lovely experience, great way to meet new people and the two guides are just such lovely people. Would recommend this to solo travellers as well as solo females - you will have an amazing time, learn lots about Egypt and leave with a very very full belly. We must have visited four restaurants in total and one desert place. Bring walking shoes!

Ahmed was an amazing guide! It was just the two of us on the tour, so it felt more like a conversation between friends. He took me to some really local spots (family-run businesses, street stalls, a local market) and shared a variety of food with me to taste. It was all delicious! I got full quickly, but Ahmed assured me that any leftover food would be donated. I learned a great deal about Egyptian food and culture. Highly recommend this tour if you love food and culture!

The street food tour was a great experience. We had a wonderful evening with Ahmad and his wife who were the most friendly, hospitable and generous hosts. In their company we had a great night out in Cairo. Thanks a lot :-)

We meet Ahmed at a smoothie bar where we tried a few traditional Egyptian drinks which started our food tour off with a sweet touch! We then moved to a close by restaurant for several dishes meant for the evening meal in Egypt, things we'd never necessarily order without the expertise and knowledge from Ahmed, we didn't just have food though.. Ahmed is extremely knowledgeable on the history of Egypt, not just the food either, this guy has a wealth of knowledge which we soaked up all evening! We chatted along the way to the 3rd spot for morning and afternoon meals, followed by a traditional snack, Egyptian BBQ and finally the most tasty dessert I've had since being here! During our time with Ahmed he was incredibly welcoming, friendly and made us feel so comfortable. This wasn't just a food tour it was an experience with the best host! We left with mangos in hand, which were bought during the experience and Ahmed even treated us to our first ever tuktuk ride back to our meeting spot to grab a taxi back to our hotel. My brother and I couldnt recommend his food tour/experience enough, it'll be an experience we talk about for a long time and suggest to anyone we know that makes the visit to such an incredible country!
