One day in Cairo with Ahmed Waheeb.

Rarely we have come across a tour guide like Ahmed Waheeb. He is a very warm and open personality, speaks fluent English, has a good sense of humour and is extremely well informed about Egypts modern and ancient history, myths, religions and culture. He knows ways to portray it like you were right there in those scenes yourself; surrounded by legendary mythic goddesses, pharaohs, warriors and invaders. The tour Ahmed gave us in the museum was exciting; he has a nice pace and shows you the highlights telling truly interesting new stories about them. And tells it with a lot of passion. One can tell that he is really into the topics. The tour, consisting of a visit to the old city, lunch, a visit to the museum and pyramids of Gizeh, was accustomed to the wishes of the small group we were with. The lunch buffet was of a simple but good quality. Many tourists are dropped off there, but that was okay. The only thing we didn’t like so much were the standard ‘tourist stops’ that we were being dropped off at: a papyrus shop and oil store. As they are part of every tour and are not requested by the participants. If you want to enjoy a tour in Cairo, make sure to book it with Ahmed!

Amazing Experience !!!

This Tour surpassed my expectations. I was pick up at 4. 20 am and escorted to Sharm Airport. Was meet at Cairo Airport by my guide Mohamed. Visited the old Bazaar / Old Mosques. Then driven to the GEM, which included a tour. Ramasee's Statue / Grand Staircase, AMAZING. Also went to The Tutankhamen Experience.( modern technology to another level). Then the Highlight of the day. The Giza Plateau to see Pyramids & Sphinx. What more can I say. My Guide and Driver were brilliant. THANK YOU both.

A once in a lifetime experience

An incredible trip from Sharm el sheikh to Cairo! Really a once in a lifetime experience. Really well planned out. We were a small group of 5 which was great. Our guide Amin was absolutely amazing from start to end. Really informative and made sure we were all safe throughout the trip. He was amazing keeping my daughter engaged throughout the day. We opted into going into the pyramids and taking the nile boat which were both amazing. Thank you FTS for an amazing trip and thank you to Amin an incredible guide

Cairo full experience in one day

A very nice day trip, challenging but worth it. Seeing the pyramids, the Egyptian museum, Cairo, is a unique experience that anyone who comes to Egypt cannot miss. The tour was very well organised, our guide Hoda fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful. The journey, as I was saying, is demanding because you have to get up very early in the morning (1.30) and return very late at night. However I recommend it.

A day to remember

Our Trip to Cairo from Sharm was a day to remember. Although the communication while planning the trip wasn’t the best, the tour itself was amazing. A word of warning if you’re going to get the bus to Cairo, wrap up warm in the colder months. The bus doors were open the entire 8 hour journey which made it very cold. The bus itself was lovely and comfortable. With screens to watch movies and snacks provided. When we arrived in Cairo our tour guide Ibrahim and Driver Hamut greeted us straight away. We had booked a private tour with them. Ibrahim gave us the history of Ancient Egypt as we walked around the museum and left us to look around also. He was pointing out historical buildings and telling us history about Cairo on our drives around to our destinations. He offered us a boat ride on the Nile which was for a very good price of £10 (English pounds). While at the pyramids Ibrahim pointed out good places to get photos and was our personal photographer for the day. Due to us not participating in all activities provided he took us to a perfume shop and papyrus paper making shop. The staff were lovely but a little pushy about us buying something. I feel if we were in a group we may not have felt so pressured to purchase. Our flight home was lovely and we were picked up the other side and dropped to our hotel. Our driver seemed to not take note of the speed limit and seemed to forget we were in the back. Overall, the trip was one to remember and we are thankful to Ibrahim and Hamut for a wonderful experience and being incredibly helpful.

great pyramids, but questionable local tour guide and events

My family and I did the day trip in Cairo which in the itinerary said the pyramids markets and mueseum as main events. First off, the overall events themselves were fun and we enjoyed them a lot such as being able to see the pyramids and learning the history of them. Something else that was also much appreciated was the convievent and fast communication I had with the tour guide company. They were fast to reply with text and calls and were very helpful. However there was also a lot my family didn’t like about this trip. First off, our tour guide SHERIEEF (sorry with the spelling) took us to places that were NEVER mentioned on our itinerary. For instance instead of going to the market which was mentioned on the itinerary when we booked the trip we DIDNT go and instead went to some random perfume shop and a random papyrus making shop. We wouldn’t have minded being taken to these places if we had already done all the event that were originally planned and just had extra time. Nobody had any clear interest in the perfume shop and it was clear people at the shops were just there to eagerly have us buy something. They have also taken us to a random boat trip which we did enjoy but the issue is once again ITS UNPLANNED so we were concerned with the amount of cash we brought because you can’t pay with card. The price of this boat ride was also unclear. It wasn’t stated clearly and none of us knew how much it was and we only clearly knew AFTER THE BOAT RIDE. Of course you would think why not just sit out but we weren’t given the option was if either we all go or none of us go and since the majority wanted to go we were left to drag along with them. The bus however was waiting the whole time so I don’t know why they wouldn’t bring up a second option that people who weren’t so keen on it could just wait in the bus gladly.SECONDLY, as we were arriving to the pyramids sherieef was talking about how the air system used to be bad in the pyramids during ancient times and was hard to breathe but now it’s fine as they updated it. This gave my family the reassurance as we do have a family member who struggles with hot temperatures. The ticket were 40 US dollars which we personally thought were a bit pricey. We got into the pyramids and immediately it was very very hard to breathe. It was tiny and felt very claustrophobic. There was around only 3 feet in width for two adult people (one going up one coming back down). It was so hot in there that my family had to LEAVE MIDWAY (literally within FOUR minutes) without seeing the actual room in the pyramids. This is very frustrating as we had no warning beforehand of the air temperature or the tiny space that we will have to endure. If we knew beforehand, my family would have thought it through a bit more. Also it wasn’t just our family who left midway there was many our family’s who decided to leave early and people who were coming back down gave us warnings of how humid it’ll be and go be careful. Overall, I feel that there wasn’t enough information given out for this trip. Lastly, there was also some clear issues with the transportation from the airport back to our hotel. There were two parties on the bus who were there to be taken back home but there was a extra COMPANY WORKER. As we saw OUR hotel out the window the bus SKIPPED past our hotel and kept going for TEN MINUTES until they had dropped off the COMPANY WORKER OFF FIRST. We don’t mind they they want to drop off their faculty but shouldn’t the customers be first priority especially since they skipped over our own hotel.

Tour of a lifetime!

We were escorted around Cairo by Sarwat who was the best tour guide we have ever come across and a very nice and genuine man. He was very knowledgeable and he made us feel at ease as we toured cairo, we definitely recommend FTS travel and especially Sarwat as a tour guide as he was exceptional he showed us around the city and the pyramids and his knowledge of the city and the pyramids were amazing he also took us to lunch in between the tour and the food at the restaurant was also amazing and had us laughing the whole time with his witty jokes. Sarwat made this tour extra special and we hope to have him as our tour guide again when we come back to cairo in the future.

Excellent

Me and my partner had an amazing experience from start to finish throughout the excursion. Our tour guide Sherif was very knowledgeable in the history of ancient Egypt. and would go out of his way to help make your experience the best possible one. I would recommend this excursion to anyone, the fts team went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after and comfortable. I can't thank them enough for giving a true look into cairos history.
