What a brilliant holiday we have just had on this dahabiya 5 day cruise from Luxor to Aswan! Excellent crew who couldn’t do enough to make our stay truly memorable. Anybody wanting to take advantage of the low tourist numbers should go now as it’s wonderful to see Egypt’s treasures without the crowds and whilst the weather isn’t too hot.

I cannot recommend LUXOR-ASWAN TRAVEL enough. Their services really went above and beyond what we expected. On their site they suggest you do not travel on the over night train from Cairo to Luxor because the train might not be as comfortable as expected and there is a full day of sightseeing once you arrive. We of course paid no heed to their advice and took the train. Was it uncomfortable? No, it just took 26 hours longer than expected to arrive. I really could not tell you exactly what happened, no one seemed to know. Once we embarked in Cairo, we were told to have dinner, sleep and 8 hours later wake up in Luxor. When we woke up 8 hours later, we had only moved a couple of kilometers south of Cairo. I texted LUXOR-ASWAN TRAVEL and informed them of our predicament. Hany, our Reservation Manager, was the only person whom, we felt, cared about us. We communicated every so often to advise of our progress and at least encouraging words were received. Other passengers tried to communicate with the Rail Company and phone calls were never answered. I must give a special congratulation to our train porter. This poor man did not know any more than we did, was left by the rail company to deal with some disgruntled passengers and he did so with patience. Because the train did not have food on board for 2 days (it only had one dinner and a breakfast); he did offer to buy snacks and sodas on our behalf at different stops. 38 hours after we departed from Cairo, on a trip that should have only taken 8 to 10 hours, we arrived in Luxor. LUXOR-ASWAN TRAVEL, took over from that point forward. Because we had missed the first day of touring, they were able to provide two days worth of sightseeing into one day. Our private guide (PhD in Egyptology) Mikael, made sure we first had some breakfast and then showed us all the sites as had been pre-arranged on the cruise. The cruise spends the first night in Luxor, so although we missed the first day, we did not miss the ship. The ship had agreed to wait for us to finish all of our site seeing before setting sail on the second day. We had booked a cabin with three beds in the ship. When we arrived at the ship that evening, LUXOR-ASWAN TRAVEL had managed to upgrade us to two suites at no extra cost. Here I would like to stop and remind you that we were advised NOT TO TAKE that overnight train. We did not book the train through LUXOR-ASWAN TRAVEL, nor do they have any affiliation with the rail company. They just simply felt that we had had quite an ordeal arriving to start our vacation and they wanted us to be happy. The rest of the cruise went smoothly. Mikael, our guide, was obviously extremely knowledgeable and was always eager to share his experiences. We felt very lucky and we learned much more, having had our own private guide, as opposed to being part of large tour. We also move at our own pace and that is an essential part of being on vacation. All the sites were magnificent, some even majestic. If you are able to find a quiet spot and close your eyes, you might even feel a special energy. I could write a whole article, is this looking like one? on our entire experience, but I will summarize the rest: 1) Reservations are easily made - email communication is prompt. 2) Concerto 2 has very comfortable beds, excellent pillows (I usually travel with mine, so believe me when I tell you their pillows were good quality) and surprisingly very good water pressure. Not exactly sure what I was expecting, but the water pressure in the shower was the first re-assurance we received that the rest of the cruise was going to be just as relaxing. 3) The restaurant had a variety of fresh salads which I piled my plate with and very tasty fish. My understanding is that the fish comes from the Nile itself, and the freshness of it was undeniable. Beer and wine, an accompaniment to most meals as far as I am concerned, were available. My bottle of white wine was reserved from one meal to the next. I have to admit that the first night I took it to my room, not wanting to waste it, later on I learned the restaurant would save it for me. 4) Mohammed and Mohammed, yes, two different men, same name – were wonderful housekeeping staff. Our room was perfectly cleaned, organized and even decorated every day by mid-morning. 5) Massages on board Concerto 2 were very good. My husband loved his. I walked out feeling completely relaxed. Don’t miss the opportunity to get one, after a whole day of touring, there’s nothing like having your feet massaged and your muscles relaxed. 6) The Jewelry store had very good prices. Yes – we bought jewelry too. Got our names in cartouches and are wearing them proudly. Purchased a ring and a pair of earrings as well which the jeweler, Ramon, had to basically redesign to my liking, twice. No hassle, no extra costs, simply good customer service. 7) Photographs you ask? Yes – we bought those too. Yes, we posed. Yes, we smiled and now have them up on the refrigerator – I smile every time I see them. We have tons of digital pictures, but some how those never get printed or reach our kitchen. Looking forward to booking other travel itineraries with LUXOR-ASWAN TRAVEL.

Use this company! Stop looking around at all the other agencies and use this company. Absolutely amazing customer service and responsiveness. Ours was a grand adventure and the Luxor and Aswan agency made sure every little detail was handled and taken care of. I had ZERO issues or concerns during our trip and they handled everything. I mean everything. Our guide was a true Egyptologist, trained and certified, who had previously conducted digs at some of the ancient sites. He can read and write Hieroglyphics which is amazing. Being able to ask “What does this say,” at any time was really great. I even got to the point where I could start recognizing various patterns and get the gist of what they meant. The cruise was exceptional. The Historia is a class act. The guide was with us the whole time and the Luxor and Aswan agency truly made this a once and a lifetime adventure. 10/10 would use them again and recommend them to anyone and everyone I know going to Egypt. Worth every penny.

We had a fantastic time on our Nile Cruise with our top-tier guide, Hassan Ashor. We visited Kom Ombo, the Temple of Philae, Luxor, Karnak, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Abu Simbel, Edfu, Valley of the Kings, the colossi of Memnon, and took a falouka ride in Aswan... an absolute whirlwind through these ancient and truly moving works of incredibly artistry and engineering. It's pretty mind-blowing what a broad sweep of history can be encompassed in a single week's trip! Hassan Ashor personalized our trip based on our particular interests and traveling style, and we were so grateful to have him as our guide! We had some other short, one-day experiences with guides while still in Egypt... and each of those times our takeaway was, "Thank goodness we booked with Hassan for the long trip!" He was warm, knowledgeable, and charismatic. Gorgeous views as you cruise down the Nile in parts. Having a private view from your bedroom window along the Nile banks is pretty special.

We did the 5 day Nile River cruise from Luxor to Aswan and it was excellent. We visited all the major archeological sites and the boat/lodgings were comfortable. The food on the boat was varied and vegetarian friendly. Our guide Hassan Ashor, was terrific - very knowledgeable and worked with us to cater the experience to our needs and preferences. Really pleasant to be guided by and a standout guide, a step above any others we met while in Egypt.

It has been an unforgettable experience thanks to them. We usually do not use agencies when traveling, but organize it ourselves; but, to go to Egypt, we thought it advisable to do so. We can't be happier that we did. After comparing each other, we decided to hire him with Luxor & Aswan Travel, and so we started discussions with Hany, who took care of planning with our interests in mind and even rearranging everything when we added another pair of friends to the four that we were originally going to be. Our trip was originally scheduled for Easter 2020, but with the pandemic everything was put on hold. We were worried if we ended up losing the money we had already paid and the inability to travel until the situation was more controlled, but there was no problem, no pressure or deadline to make the trip, no changes in the budget. We thank you so much. Whenever we contacted Hany, we received an almost immediate response. He kept an eye on us via WhatsApp from the moment we set foot in Cairo airport until we were dropped off again a week later, when we got back. Even already in Madrid, he worried to know if our flight had been good and we were fine. The people who attended us there were very attentive and friendly. Thanks to the drivers, Waleed and especially our super guide Mohamed Elgannam. Of the latter to say that we could not have had a better guide. Even though we were lousy "students", he had a lot of patience and we ended up learning the names of kings, queens, gods, goddesses and symbols. We had a lot of fun with him, he kept an eye on every detail (of giving us water and fruit on the road, medicines when we got bad, snacks for the pool, earplugs to sleep without discomfort, he avoided queues, he recommended places to eat, to walk, to shop,...), and, in addition, he is an excellent photographer who knows the best places and times to take fun and fabulous photos. With his company we feel safe at all times, also advising us on the maximum price to pay for the items and when to tip and how much (most of them he took care of). Surely the trip would not have gone so well without them, so I can only recommend it to everyone. Thank you very much Luxor & Aswan Travel.

Our experience with Luxor & Aswan travel could not be better, an experience that began two years ago and due to the pandemic could not be completed until last week, a wonderful week in Egypt as we could not imagine but we will never forget. I have been in contact with Hany since 2019, and we scheduled the trip several times, but had to cancel it several times due to the pandemic. Hany never told us that we could lose the money from the initial reservation, never modified the agreed budget, even adding a hotel night, and always available via whatsapp. Once the time had come, our guide, Mohamed El Gannam, managed to make the trip unforgettable, fun, interesting, and we always had the feeling that he was there to help us understand all the Egyptian culture, and help us with whatever we needed. Also drivers and representatives were always available to avoid any waste of time or waits. We are a spanish group of three couples that always be grateful to Luxor & Aswan travel for this awesome trip in Egypt.

MS Blue Shadow- Very friendly and helpful staff. The every day surprise ( animals made out of towels) were amusing my kid a lot. The cruise itself was as expected and intended, nothing went wrong, everything was sooooo relaxing (which I found hard to cope with :)). Overall, we had an amazing journey and I highly recommend it as a highlight in Egypt, from touristic point of view.
