This tour is exhausting, but worth it!
This tour is exhausting, but worth it!
Great experiences and great pictures. Our German speaking guide Hanna was really great and rounded off the experience great. Super organization of the organizer.
We were two adults and two children aged 7 and 10.
So why 4 stars?
- no announcements on the bus on the outward journey
- Duration of the trip 8+ hours instead of the specified 6 hours
- A bit stressful at the pyramids
For those who want it in more detail;-) :
The outbound journey from Hurghada to the (non-air-conditioned, old) museum took even 8.5 hours instead of the stated 6 because we were the first on the bus and then had to drive to many other hotels. We would have liked there to be announcements about how many hotels are still coming or how long the journey will go on etc. We travelled with two children (7 and 10 years).
Pick up at the hotel by air-conditioned coach at 00.30h. On the way out, we had two stops at rest stops (besides picking up the other guests) to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately, the toilets are not very appealing. Own toilet paper makes sense because you only get a few sheets of toilet paper - when you go in, for a tip. Luckily we had wet wipes with us.
For the children a very long bus ride, with little sleep, due to excitement, light in the bus etc. And the day is yet to come.
At 09.10 first stop : ancient Egyptian museum
The museum is unfortunately not air-conditioned and we had 40 degrees in the shade. Very stuffy, low oxygen. But the toilets were a little better.
Historical exhibits very interesting, but for smaller children only of limited interest. The exhibits are poorly protected, which makes us wonder how much longer they can be admired by posterity. Our guide guided us meaningfully and well informed through the crowds. Exciting historical stories/contexts in good German.
Then we went to the second stop: Nile cruise, about 11.30 / 12 o'clock.
Not included in the price, but was really nice. Cost 10€ per person. Can be paid in cash or by card.
The Nile trip takes about 30-45 minutes and you sit in shade, can let fresh wind blow around your nose and see the two sides of Cairo from the water side.
Continue to papyrus production. Duration approx. 30min.
We can't say anything about it, our 7 year old preferred to take a nap and we also rested in the air-conditioned bus.
Feedback from other guests: quite interesting, but lots of repetition. Sales performance, but we probably didn't miss anything. The plant is expressed, the juice hardens and becomes malleable, resulting in papyrus paper.
1.30 pm/ 2 pm Lunch in the opposite restaurant. Duration 40min which was a bit tight. The food in buffet form was great and delicious. The drinks are not included, but priced ok.
3.00 pm Then we finally went to the pyramids.
Only by camel ride (costs extra, 10€ p.P.) you can get to the beautiful photo spot where you can see all the pyramids at once. The camel guide took great photos and then held his hand accordingly. However, we knew and had it done with us - tip 20€ for us 4.
Riding camels was finally something for the children. Very exciting. When you go up and down, of course, you have to hold the children well.
The time at the pyramids we found a bit stressful because you had to go straight to the bus after the camels and then drive again between the two big pyramids. Time for photos about 30min. Then directly back on the bus to the Sphinx, another 20min time.
Meanwhile, our children were simply through (and so were we) from the heat (40 degrees in the shade) and the many stops as well as the long day.
Last stop about 17h: Perfumery
Sales performance, but not intrusive and quite interesting. It is in an air-conditioned room and there are free drinks.
If you want to buy oils, you can pay there in cash or by card. (Prices approx. 50ml 25€, 100ml 35€, 250ml 80€)
Then 8h drive home again with two stops.
Finally we were back at the hotel at 01.30 - 25 hours tour. Fortunately, the children slept most of the time.
A very busy day with great experiences, great guide and great organization. Thanks for everything!
Conclusion:
This tour is exhausting, but worth it!
Papyrus making and perfumery could be safely omitted to spend more time at the pyramids.

Good tour but needs changing
Good bits: Tour guide was very nice and accommodating, very knowledgeable and passionate about Egyptian history. The Nile tour was worth the extra, the perfume and oils tour was also very good.
Bad bits: Coach was not great for a such a long day/journey, the seats were ripped, the padding wasn't comfortable, the AC wasnt even that cold, the overhead lights didn't work, the charging ports worked on/off. Water should have been provided throughout the journey as it was so hot and the schedule was not great as the pyramid, Sphnix should have been done earlier when it was cooler and the others later.

Worth the money
The service was good, the guide was excellent, food was good and saw a lot of the things. The guide was articulate and had a lot of knowledge and passion in his field. As a solo traveler I felt safe and content during this trip.

Beautiful cairo trip
This trip was super good and we saw and learnt so much. But there are things to point out: if you are the first one to be picked up, add 3 hours on top of the 6-hour journey to Cairo, as they need to pick up other guests on the way.
There were stops on the way, but be prepared to pay 1 dollar, pound or euro to use the restroom per person.
Water on the bus was 1 euro for 2 bottles, so value for money.
Our guide Hannen, was very informative, super helpful and made our excursion very special.
The whole team made this trip a good one and as a family enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it.

Cairo Trip - Museum, Pyramids, Sphinx
We travelled from Hurghada by coach and it was a long journey and a long day, but worth it. Flying would be a better option I'm hindesight and if your able, but luckily the coach was spacious enough for everyone to have an individual seat and catch a little shut eye along the way.
Hanan, our tour guide joined us and was fantastic from start to finish very warm and knowledgeable about the sites we were visiting and also added extra info on landmarks and the history. This was our first day trip as a group out of 6 planned, and we hope to see Hanan before we leave. Multilingual and ensured everyone kept with the group and gave information on areas and artifacts we visited, with a smile that would brighten up any dull day. Amazing tour guide and an amazing experience for the first Egyot excusion. Thanks Hanan, for an amazing day. Chris

overall good except lunch
overall, it was good.. the tour guide (Hana) was amazing she explained everything very nicely and showed us everything..
The only bad thing we noticed is the lunch.. it was very unhygienic place, and I advised not to eat there or tour organizer to arrange lunch in another place..

Cairo is worth a journey
Abir showed us round and gave a lot of good information. Spoke very good German. The Museum and the Pyramids have been the Highlights. Be prepared to spend some money on different occasions because you will be asked to buy sth (oil perfume gallery, papyrus museum, etc.) We've also had 2 safe drivers.
