Amazing archeological place, could be much better organized. The tipping culture is awful!
We went on a one-day trip from Hurghada to The Valley of the Kings in Luxor. We were there for the archeological artifacts. The trip was well organized as much as they could under the local resources.
Frankly, having such amazing archeological places, I expected much better organization from the Egyptian ministry of tourism. There is literally no one organizing, navigating and supervising the crowds.
The other thing that I really hated is that literally everyone expects you to tip them. The bargaining staff is very unpleasant. As a European they look at us a cash machines. I felt that at every step someone was trying to get money from me.
A security guy at the airport asked for our packed breakfast! Couldn't believe it! The cleaning lady in airport terminal asked for cash!

Wonderful day in Luxor!
Our trip to Luxor was a very long day, but absolutely worth it—we’re so glad we decided to go. We were picked up from our hotel around 4:00 a.m., collected a few other guests along the way, and then began the drive to Luxor, with one rest stop about halfway.
Our first stop was Karnak Temple, which was both breathtaking and awe-inspiring. We weren’t quite sure what to expect, but it far exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Nana, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She quickly took our five-year-old son under her wing, and he happily stayed by her side for the rest of the day.
Next, we enjoyed a short boat ride across the Nile to the lunch spot. While it may not have been strictly necessary, we really enjoyed it—especially since our son got to “drive” the boat, which was a definite highlight for him. Lunch was a buffet and fairly simple, but still enjoyable.
After lunch, we visited the Valley of the Kings, which was fascinating. Nana did an excellent job explaining the history and details of the various tombs. We chose not to pay the extra fee to enter King Tutankhamun’s tomb, but our five-year-old was able to enter for free and see the mummy, which he absolutely loved. Most of the treasures from the tomb are now housed in the Grand Egyptian Museum.
We then made a brief stop at the Colossi of Memnon, which provided enough time for photos, followed by a visit to a workshop where alabaster vases were available for purchase. Our final stop was the Temple of Hatshepsut. We had about 40 minutes there, which felt just right for our family.
At each stop, we felt we had enough time to explore and see what interested us most. That said, Luxor is a place where you could easily spend days exploring everything—and we hope to do that someday. The drive back was long, but by the end of the day, we all agreed the experience was well worth it. We came away with unforgettable memories, and our guide Nana truly made the trip exceptional.

The wonders of Luxor
We left about 4 am from Hurghada to arrive in Luxor at 9 am via a mini van where water and snacks were available inside. In Luxor we were entrusted to our Italian guide named Ragab who showed us the various archaeological sites of the program. After the visit of Karnak temple (fabulous) we took the mini cruise on the Nile paying 10€ per person. Afterwards they accompanied us to a restaurant for lunch with a wide choice of food. After lunch towards the Valley of the Kings where the ticket includes the visit of 3 tombs of your choice out of 20 and our guide showed us the best (beautiful and fabulous). After we went to visit other temples including the wonderful temple of hatshepsut for its panorama. Finally visit of an inn of artisans who worked the typical Egyptian stones creating sculptures.
Return to Hurghada around 20:30. A fantastic day for archaeological wonders. We were lucky to have met Ragab a super prepared, nice guide, who spoke excellently Italian and super considerate in respecting the schedule and schedules. We also enjoyed the two guys in the mini van, nice and hospitable. A return to fast&furious that has amused us so much and made us recover time.
What about... we recommend you when booking to buy the package from about 80 € and write in personal requests the Ragab guide... overrecommended!
I forgot... bring your coins for tips and baths!

Tour to the Valley of the Kings - gladly again
We booked a tour from Hurghada to the Valley of the Kings. Both the pickup, our tour guide Shaban and the process were perfect. Shaban explained the individual sights in detail and understandably, took time for questions, ensured a pleasant process. The tour in German was really top.

Good tour informed guide
It was a really nice day, we worked through the program with our guide Shaban in a small group and could laugh. We exchanged ideas and learned many interesting things, but they were informative and fact-based. We have also been able to gain a differentiated impression in between due to his opinion.

Best tour with the amazing guide Nana!
Amazing tour with the best guide Nana!!! She made this trip unforgettable. I recommend this tour 100%, and take it with all entry fees so you don’t have to wait in line there as you have limited time in all places.
It gets very hit in the valley and the tombs so keep that in mind.
