After visiting the Pyramids of Giza, visit the Great Sphinx, by far the largest surviving sphinx. It consists of a human head on the body of a lion. The Sphinx was carved from the remains of a limestone hill that served as a quarry for the Great Pyramid of Cheops. Felucca cruise on the Nile is available for a fee.

The further course of the excursion takes you to the great pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. The tour of the pyramids ends at the Sphinx and the temple surrounding it. At the end of the day, if time permits, you will have the opportunity to go shopping before embarking on the return journey to Hurghada.
If the return flight from Cairo is late in the evening, we will spend some time visiting the London of the Middle Ages (Khan el Klalili market), Old Cairo, recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage list, or Cairo Festival City, an extra-large shopping mall (air-conditioned), one of the largest in the Middle East. Full of the most famous international brands, restaurants, cafes and a huge colorful dancing fountain, where you will be drawn to Cairo's chic, modern nightlife.
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in an air-conditioned car.
If we have time, we can make two characteristic visits to the Papyrus Museum and the Essential Oil Factory. These two attractions will familiarize you with the ancient Egyptian techniques of making papyrus and essences. These two interesting visits will increase your knowledge of daily life in ancient Egypt and will also be helpful to the Egyptian farmers who work in these sectors and preserve these very old handicrafts from ancient Egypt. (These visits depend on the time remaining.)
Afterwards, your mind needs some rest. You can, for example, relax with a boat trip on the Nile and discover Cairo from the water.

This was such a great experience!! Please make sure you wear comfortable shoes and drink plenty of water!! Mr Fahmy was amazing and treated us all like family. He was very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to hagglers trying to make money! Mr fahmy fed us all very well and no one left hungry. I definitely recommend this excursion.

We were picked up early in the morning at our hotel, was driven to the airport in Hurghada where there was about 1 hour flight to Cairo. In Cairo we were welcomed by our guide Fahme, who did a great job telling us a lot about Egypt and its history. We started at the Pyramids, then the new museum and finally a short walk along the Nile. A completely unforgettable day.

Very nice excursion, too bad that the guide takes us to a tourist catch for essential oils, we would have preferred to spend more time for the sphinx, 5 minutes because he took us to the establishment of essential oils telling us that it was time for the meal. At the airport on the return no shuttle n wanted to pick us up, we had to wait 40 minutes and I had to sit on the ground because more room.

Visiting the pyramids and sphinx was an absolute highlight. An unforgettable day. If you adjust to one or the other in advance, the day is just absolutely recommended. What to prepare for: Getting up early A very long day Extras and expenses We received our flight formations and pick-up time the day before. Pick-up time 3:15. We just went to bed earlier and with about 5 hours sleep then started the long day. Around 23:00 we were back at our hotel. Tired but happy.. The booked highlights were also thanks to the archaeologist, who guided us very well and the small group who got along well right away just unforgettable. Seeing the pyramids, the Sphinx and the new GEM will be remembered for a long time - once in a lifetime you should have seen it. In terms of extras, we had the Nile river trip and the camel ride talked up to the viewing platform at the pyramids. Total 60 € . Even if these were not the highlights of the tour, the sum of the small experiences makes the day so special and varied. On the river cruise you get a beautiful view of the Cairo skyline. Riding camels, it could get a bit queasy at altitude and the many rocked, but it was still a unique experience. By the way, we were traveling with a seven-year-old and also had another family with three children in the minibus. Of course the kids were knocked out in between and slept on the flight or transfer - but in the end the day was so varied and so much to experience that the kids persevered superbly on our tour. Even in the museum when the archaeologist often explained for a long time, they listened wide-eyed to the explanations of hieroglyphics. We will remember this day for a long time.

Super tiring day, the Giza plateau is incredible with its pyramids and others.....Do not listen to those who talk about itinerant traders insisting yes there are but no more than elsewhere, just tell them no, it would be a shame not to go because of them......Moreover the authorities have cleaned up since the opening of the new door.

This was one of the best activities we did on this trip to Egypt. Full day activity literally but absolutely worth it. Not pricey at all. Perfect number of people in a group and great transportation provided. Beautiful team spirit from everyone. Mr Fahmy was our tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic. I believe we got the best guy for the trip. Mr Fahmy looked after us very well. We visited the Nile river, the pyramids of Giza, the sphinx and the GEM, learning so much historically. Our driver was also very sociable and very friendly. We were so blessed. We had good lunch at a buffet restaurant too. Please book this activity for your upcoming trip to Egypt. You won’t regret it.

Have a nice excursion from Hurghada to Cairo. Good English speaking guide with extensive knowledge. Drivers do not speak English but were extremely nice and helpful. Definitely recommended!

The day and the organization by Viator and the local operator were very good, no complaints, all the services are quality. You just have to know that the booking time is given as an indication and the departure to Cairo depends on the flight schedule ... we had to leave the hotel at 3:50 am in order to have time to visit the city as mentioned in the reviews, but the day before we learned that we would be picked up at 6:50 am. In the end our flight took off at 12:15 .. It made short work of the scheduled visits. We were offered to cancel, but really keen on these visits, we went anyway. So express tour of the pyramids and the Sphinx , 1 hour at the museum, sandwiches in the car. Thanks to the organizers and guide who allowed us to see everything and enjoy the day despite these inconveniences.
