Pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, Travel to Alexandria. Start the tour with the library of Alexandria; the biggest library in the world – now with 8 million books. Visit President Sadat Museum and visit the open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. Our guide will explain the design of the library from outside, you will have a chance for some photo stops. Note: Alexandria library is closed on Fridays ,Saturdays & in public holidays. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase a ticket.
Visiting the insides of the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock
You will also drive by Pompay's Pillar and stop for a photo stop, (it was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century)
We will walk by the excavation site of the Old Roman City of Alexandria, including Roman villas, the Amphitheater Ruins, Alexandria's Great Tomb excavation site, and various ruins. Please note that we will not be visiting the interior of these sites but will enjoy an external view while our guide shares insights into their historical significance.

Continue your tour by passing through the oldest market area in Mansheya and see the traditional womens’ markets (zan’et etsetat) with very thin and narrow streets, gold market also exists here where everyone buys their wedding and engagement jewellery.

The car will then transport you to the most beautiful and largest mosque in the city, allowing for a photo stop at the Abbo Elabbas Mosque.Walk by the oldest funfair in Egypt
Opposite is the corniche and the old harbour where you can see the old fishing boats, men fishing and traditional fishermen making nets. The photos taken here are amazing. Continue to see the outside of Quaitbay castle which was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria one of the seven wonders of ancient world . A most spectacular castle which is a great photo stop.
Once in Montaza Gardens, commonly known as the Love Garden (all romantic couples and families go there) you will visit the royal gardens of King Farouk (the last king in the history of Egypt) and see the royal palaces of Haramlek and Salamlek as well as walk along the famous Montaza bridge and reach the Tea Palace island and see the royal beaches of the queens. Then travel in comfort back to your hotel in Cairo.

Amazing Day in Alexandria! I had a great day in Alexandria with Trip Egypt. Our guide Naglaa Mohamed was so friendly and knowledgeable — she made the tour fun and interesting. Everything was well organized, and we saw all the main sights. Highly recommend Trip Egypt and Naglaa for a perfect day in Alexandria!

The description could be clearer and more thorough to manage expectations. It should be stated in the overall description that it is a group tour (which is implied in the additional info). A representative did the hotel pick-ups, which included Downtown Cairo and Giza. I had booked 7am and pick up was 6:45am. Two of the other guests were late, which meant we sat in the car for about 15 mins (I understand this was out of the company's control). The representative left after all the pick-ups and then the tour guide joined us in Alexandria. We had a short stop on the drive to Alexandria where we were pointed to a shop where we could buy snacks. The day was quite rushed, apart from Montaza Palace, where we spent about 45-60mins looking at the gardens and a beach club for a beverage. The library visit was rushed and there was no opportunity to go to the ticketed exhibition. The catacombs were the highlight of the day. Lunch was at 3pm and it would be helpful to put this in the description. We drove past Pompey's Pillar (no photo stop) and spent about 5 mins looking at the Roman ruins through the fence. The guide was knowledgeable but short on time. On the way back, the driver was constantly looking down, and I suspect he was looking at his phone.

Macy was full of passion for her job and her studies, very talkative and funny. She guided us smiling and answering to all questions we did. We visited the Bibliotheca Alexandrina,the the Citadel and the Mosque of Al Qa'ed Ibrahim and the Church of San Marco. Despite to an organization problem not depending on Macy, She reached us as soon she can, also if she received a lat call from her company. Thank to Macy for the trip.
