Join us on this tour if you're looking for authentic, home-cooked and street Egyptian food in two different neighborhoods in Cairo. The first area is West Elbalad,downtown Cairo where will be meeting and kicking off with some national drinks. A sense of home-cooked food prepared like Egyptian grandmothers used to cook everyday is so nice. The second area is the iconic of the local Cairo where you can explorer Cairo off beaten pavement, the real lives of people, tuk tuks and the local markets. A sandwich of taameya like typical Cairenes use instead of falafel and a plate of Koshary are authentic experiences between locals! 6+ stops will let your belly dance with the Egyptian food. There is no waste food on our journey, so if you can't finish your portion, vou can take the leftovers or leave it simply to any person in need on the streets. Can't wait and YALLA BINA!

Great evening in Cairo

We had such a great evening on this food tour around Cairo. Shorouk and Ahmed were so friendly and welcoming. They were informative and told us lots about Egypt as well as introducing us to lots of new food. Shorouk and Ahmed took us around downtown and also to their local area. They were always looking out for us and made sure that we felt comfortable always. All of the food we had was delicious and we were so full afterwards. We would definitely recommend booking this tour. It is a great way to spend an evening in Cairo! Thank you Shorouk and Ahmed!

Highly Recommend!

Shorouk was very kind and brought us to a few local spots that had some good food. Started in one part of the city then took a metro to another part. Definitely recommend if you want to try some good food and experience off the beaten path.

A must-do guided tour!

Great local experience

We loved spending an afternoon with Shorouk, seeing Cairo through the eyes of a local. She introduced us to many Egyptian foods and explained their significance. She took us to places that were very local, not touristy at all. Best of all was the chance to talk to her about life in Cairo!

Unforgettable experience

We had an unforgettable experience with Shorouk and Ahmed. We learned so much about the culture in Cairo and the community there, while also getting to try so many different dishes in places that we would have never possibly been able to enter or order in. We even got to use the subway and sip some tea to end the night while joining the locals to watch their club soccer team win the Africa Cup with the local kids running through the street after. It was a surreal experience that we’ll never forget and a night with Shorouk and Ahmed is not one to miss! They also made sure we were safely on our way at the end of the night. They were tremendous hosts.

Must do in Cairo!

This tour is a must do when you visit Cairo! The experience truly included visiting local restaurants, eating various local dishes and learning more about Egypt. Ahmed, Shorouk and the girls were so much fun to be with and were phenomenal hosts. Come ready to EAT A LOT and enjoy a truly cultural experience through Cairo! This experience is truly once in a life time and we were thrilled to be part of it.

Friendly and Delicious!

Shorouk led me on a breakfast and coffee tour on my very first morning in Cairo and I can't recommend it more! The food was delicious and I loved hearing about food customs, the neighborhood as well as her life and family. She was so helpful and kind and interesting to listen to her intimate knowledge of the neigborhood and foods. I feel like I now have a good friend on the other side of the world.

The best way to see the real Cairo

Super recommended because it allows you to delve into the daily life of the people of Cairo. The attention and details that Ahmed shared with us made this tour one of the best experiences on our trip.

You have to book this!

This was such a great experience. Even though I was the only one on the tour and it was the day before Ramadan, they were still happy to accommodate me. We went to so many places that I think I was full for two days after. And we even gave leftovers to a needy family on the street so it didn’t feel wasteful or like I needed to eat everything. It was great to learn more about Egyptian life, go to places I never would have discovered on my own, and of course have great food. I love markets so I especially loved strolling through a local food market at the end. Ahmed even got me a little Ramadan lantern as a gift and offered to help with any questions or assistance I might need on my trip. You can really see he and his wife love what they do and they just seem like really warm, welcoming people. A great way to experience a different side of Egyptian culture. Highly recommend.
