Join us on this tour if you're looking for authentic, home-cooked and street Egyptian food in two different neighborhoods in Cairo. The first area is West Elbalad,downtown Cairo where will be meeting and kicking off with some national drinks. A sense of home-cooked food prepared like Egyptian grandmothers used to cook everyday is so nice. The second area is the iconic of the local Cairo where you can explorer Cairo off beaten pavement, the real lives of people, tuk tuks and the local markets. A sandwich of taameya like typical Cairenes use instead of falafel and a plate of Koshary are authentic experiences between locals! 6+ stops will let your belly dance with the Egyptian food. There is no waste food on our journey, so if you can't finish your portion, vou can take the leftovers or leave it simply to any person in need on the streets. Can't wait and YALLA BINA!

A Delicious, Authentic Evening in Cairo

This is the Cairo experience everyone needs. It’s the perfect way to explore the city, walking through real neighborhoods where everyday life unfolds, far from the typical tourist traps and souvenir stalls. There’s nothing staged or commercial here just an unforgettable evening with Ahmed and Shorouk, two genuinely warm and passionate people who love sharing their city and its incredibly underrated food scene. They treated us like family and were eager to share stories and listen to ours. The dishes were outstanding, but the company was even better. Highly recommended!

Fabulous tour!

This tour was great and one of the highlights of our time in Egypt. Ahmed and Shorouk were wonderful! We had the special experience of being there during Eid, but I'm sure the tour would be just as fun any time of year.

Great experience

Ahmed gave us such a wonderful tour. It was truly memorable. I have nothing bad to say. The food was great, the information was great. Ahmed made us feel like we were long time friends.

Highly recommend!

Oh what an experience! Ahmed was a great host & guide and I would highly recommend this tour. He took us to local restaurants and tailored the itinerary so we’d get to experience Egyptian food that we’ve not tried before. Along with the yummy food, his own personal stories really made the night. I just wish we had a bigger appetite so we could finish everything that he ordered!

Memorable Food Tour for a Pharaoh

From the Sobia drink to the exotic offal meats, it was a true blue Egyptian experience! Ahmed brought us to these shops where locals would go to and I had the most tasty falafel I have ever tasted! (Sorry to my Turkey mates from my trip last year!)

A must do activity to experience authentic Egyptian food like the locals eat!

Thank you Ahmed for an incredible culinary experience to cap off my visit to Cairo! I had made a last minute booking whilst flying into Cairo and Ahmed was so incredibly kind with this time, insider knowledge of all of the local spots to eat and I can guarantee you that you would not be able to find (or even possibly enter because they are truly for the locals!) with proper local delicacies! He is so passionate about his culture that it made me fall in love hearing all the stories and bonding over our shared love for food! He even tailored the tour specifically for me as I happen to be the only person booked for the day! You absolutely must do this tour as a part of your visit to Cairo!

BEST TIME EVER

We had the BEST time ever! Ahmed even let our friend join last minute and halfway through the tour. He was so so informative and friendly, making the tour so memorable and fun. The food was genuinely so amazing, I would do it all over again.

Ahmed and Shorouk were amazing! They have a true passion for Egypt, local food and local customs, and we love their concept of exposing us to local living and local food (including a very “happening” restaurant in a residential area)! They were warm, kind and entertaining and I would highly recommend this experience!

Our food tour with Ahmed was one of the highlights of our time in Egypt. He took us to try some of the most unique and delicious local dishes, and every stop came with fascinating insights into Egyptian culture, history, and daily life. Ahmed’s passion and deep knowledge made the entire experience come alive. He went above and beyond to tailor the tour to our interests and made sure we had an amazing time.
