The experience with Talaat was very nice and the cruise Lady Mary was top

The Egyptian ruins were truly magnificent, and that aspect of the trip was outstanding. However, we absolutely do not recommend joining this tour if you are looking for a "proper guide." While the boat facilities and some of the staff were good, the quality of our assigned guide (Hady) was unacceptably low, and his numerous insincere actions made our experience extremely unpleasant. [Major Issues with the Guide (Hady)] The most important point to emphasize is that this guide is completely untrustworthy. He cannot hold a logical conversation, gives incoherent responses to dodge issues when things get inconvenient, and frequently tells petty lies. 1. Low-Quality Guide Ignoring Participants' Needs Even though we are not fluent in English, we could understand 60-70% of what he said using a translation tool. However, the content was mostly "trivial information that he just wanted to talk about." We were forced to listen to lengthy, unnecessary explanations under the blazing sun. The important explanations we actually wanted to know—such as the historical background of the murals, the relationship between kings and gods, and the meaning of symbolic motifs—made up only 20-30% of his talk. It felt like he was just reading a script. He should have shared the basic texts in advance and only explained the most important and worthwhile points on-site. 2. Insincere Tip Demands and Aggressive Behavior On the first day, we paid the tips after confirming with him that "all tips are included." Despite this, he demanded additional tips on the third day. When I pointed out the inconsistency, he insisted, "It's for other staff, you must have misheard me on the first day" (which was 100% his incorrect explanation). When I continued to point this out, he lost his temper. We never said "we don't want to pay"; we simply wanted to clarify the facts. Nevertheless, he arbitrarily assumed we didn't want to pay, snatched the envelope containing the tips we gave him on the first day, and returned it to us in a completely incomprehensible reaction. The next day, he told us to pay the drivers directly. Why did he forcefully return the tips he had already accepted? His actions made no sense. Furthermore, during this argument, he repeatedly interrupted me. When I used a gesture to say, "Let me speak for a second," our hands touched. He then twisted this into a delusional claim that he was "assaulted and insulted" and demanded a one-sided apology. 3. Intimidating Attitude (Trouble during Balloon Cancellation) We participated as a group of four, including one elderly person with bad knees. Since the balloon ride would be difficult for the elderly person, we requested to cancel for them and one other person. The day before, we informed him that the remaining two also wanted to cancel. We were then told that "except for the elderly person, the cancellation request is too late, so no refund can be made." This "no refunds within 24 hours" rule was never explained to us beforehand; it was brought up as an afterthought. Although the guide should have explained this in advance, we compromised, admitting we could have checked the deadline ourselves, and settled on two people participating. The real issue was the guide's attitude during this discussion. The moment I said, "That doesn't seem right," he glared at me intimidatingly and aggressively said, "Do you have a problem?" This is no way to treat a customer. 4. Forced Visit to a Shady Souvenir Shop & Suspected Kickbacks We understand that tours often include visits to souvenir shops. However, it was highly annoying that he hid this pre-planned visit until the very last minute, suddenly taking us there during our visit to Luxor and Karnak Temples on the third day. Had we been informed in advance, we could have planned our actions accordingly, such as timing our restroom breaks at the shop. Furthermore, the place we were taken to was a shady shop that doesn't even exist on Google Maps. Many participants were hesitant, but we were forced to enter. At that time, I clearly saw the shop staff secretly handing money (a kickback?) to our guide, Hady. Also, he frequently urged us to buy things from street vendors who seemed to be his acquaintances, which was a complete waste of time. 5. Lack of Communication & Schedule Management Skills Hady has a very bad habit of only saying what he wants to say and ignoring what he doesn't. Despite having a WhatsApp group, he often ignored our messages when we asked important questions, such as when we would receive the itinerary or whether meeting times would be changed. He stubbornly insisted on giving crucial instructions only "verbally" in the group. As a result, many participants got lost or misunderstood the meeting times, but he never learned from his mistakes. His handling of the group was incredibly poor, including his failure to properly manage participants who were repeatedly late. [Overall Tour and Facility Reviews] Inadequate Itinerary: The itinerary provided was far too simplistic, without even a proper daily time schedule. At the Valley of the Kings, we were left waiting at the entrance for an unknown reason due to terrible planning. Harsh Transportation: The bus for the 6-hour round-trip to Abu Simbel was far too small and uncomfortable for such a long journey. Boat Facilities and Food: The boat was clean and some staff were friendly, but the breakfast was not tasty. The noise and vibrations from the evening music events were also a problem. The free Wi-Fi was unreliable and showed "limit reached" errors prematurely. Hot Air Balloon: The view was monotonous compared to places like Cappadocia, especially in cloudy weather. [Summary] Just as you need to protect yourself from aggressive touts around the Pyramids, you need to "record everything" when dealing with this guide to protect yourself. On our final day today, when parting ways, he proposed to me: "Tomorrow we will go our separate ways, so let's forget about this whole thing." I actually agree with him on this point. Since we are in the middle of an amazing journey, I want to quickly reset these unpleasant memories and truly enjoy the rest of my trip starting tomorrow. Therefore, while my memory is still fresh today, I am writing down the facts exactly as they happened in this review. Starting tomorrow, I will completely forget about this guide. It was a tour with an extreme gap between the magnificence of the ruins and the low quality of the guide. If you are considering joining, please be fully prepared for the risks if you get a bad guide.

The boat itself if very good, rooms clean Staff were rude and we felt discriminated at times. Food was alright for vegetarians, not many options. There were days where there was no veg gravy. But after sharing feedback, staff provided 1 veg curry after that. Guide Hady is very knowledgeable, but we felt that the days were way too packed unnecessarily at times. We were given very less time in the sites. We used to be given a tight deadline to come back to the cruise after an outing only to be waiting in the cruise for 3 more hours before sailing. All of this could be managed better. Also, the “mandatory” tip Hady made us pay felt forced, it’s a tip meaning it should have been discretionary, but he said it is mandatory. I don’t mind paying a tip, but they may as well include this as part of the package so it’s a fair comparison with other options.

Our trip with Imperial Egypt on the Princess Nile Cruise is amazing. From the reservation to the trip arrangement. The cruise is great, with comfortable rooms, delicious food, and friendly staff. The housekeeping staff surprised us every day with creative and funny towel art shaped like animals, which always made us smile when returning to our room. A special thanks to our guide, Hady, who explains history and culture clearly in such an interactive and engaging way, just like being in a real history class. With small demonstrations, storytelling, and explanations, he made the ancient history easy to understand, interesting, and enjoyable for everyone. His passion and knowledge brought the history of Egypt to life. The service from the tour is great. The contact person, Hany was responsive and helpful with our questions and some arrangement like for our pickup at the airport when we arrived in the evening. The activities can be quite demanding as you need to wake up very early on some days. If you enjoy taking pictures, you usually have around 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes after the explanations to explore and take photos, which may or may not be enough depending on the person. Regarding tips, they ask for around 10 USD for all the cruise staff and 8 USD for all the drivers during the 4 days and 3 nights cruise, which I personally found reasonable considering the service provided. We recommend Imperial Egypt to anyone planning to visit Egypt and experience a Nile cruise.

Thank you Imperial Egypt for this amazing tour! It was quite intense because we had to get up early in the morning and the days were long, but it was worth it because the sights were magnificent and our guide Hady was fascinating. Thanks again!

We had a fabulous 4 day/3 night cruise on the Nile - ship/accommodation/food were all really good standard - the ship overall was v clean and staff v attentive - the excursions were fabulous ( if not a bit tiring with a few v early starts) but we missed the queues and the hot weather - the experience was made even better by great people we met and of course our very knowledgeable and brilliant guide Mohammed Abdu - he made the tours fun but also looked after us and couldn’t do enough for us - I would definitely recommend Imperial Egypt to anyone

This was a pretty great trip. You really do a lot in short time. Be prepared to be in the sun and sweat! It is Egypt after all haha. The boat was quite comfortable to sleep and to travel in. While traveling up the Nile there was a moment where they attempted to play music but only for a few minutes even though we were on the Sun deck for a great amount of time in between activities. A playlist should be made. The food was plentiful and great. I took it upon myself to read some reviews before writing this review to see how many people actually get to do the balloon ride. Our groups did not. I haven’t seen many mention it. We were told the government didn’t permit for us to ride them and we were given our money back but I was conflicted on how much was returned.
