A Magnificent Adventure
This was our second visit to Egypt, but our first experience with a Nile cruise. It certainly won’t be our last—there will be many more Nile adventures for us in the future.
Egypt and Its People – 5/5 Stars
If you’ve never been to Egypt but are considering a trip, don’t hesitate! Egypt is a land of adventure, history, and wonder, where you feel the presence of the gods in this extraordinary corner of Africa. They say Egypt is the “Mother of the World,” and when you visit, you’ll understand why.
A trip to Egypt offers everything you could hope for in a memorable journey: rich history, breathtaking landscapes, delicious cuisine, and unparalleled hospitality. We found Egyptians to be among the kindest and most welcoming people we’ve ever met.
Our love for the country brought us back the same year—after spending Easter in Sharm El-Sheikh with a day trip to Cairo, we returned at Christmas to explore Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan, and Cairo. We’re already planning another trip to uncover more of this magical and mysterious country. Next time, we’ll experience the Nile cruise in a different way as well.
Our Guide Mustafa – 5/5 Stars!
Our private guide, Mustafa, accompanied us for five unforgettable days. He is a kind, polite, and generous man who ensured everything ran smoothly, from our pickup in Luxor to our final hours in Aswan.
Mustafa’s knowledge of ancient Egyptian history, gods, and myths was remarkable. His passion and motivation made every moment special, and we felt well cared for throughout. We highly recommend him and hope to meet him again in the future for another personalized journey.
Cruise Boat: M/S Nile Carnival – 3/5 Stars
If this review were based solely on the crew, the M/S Nile Carnival would earn 5/5 stars without question. The staff was always smiling, helpful, and exceptionally service-minded. However, other aspects of the cruise—particularly given the high price we paid—left us underwhelmed.
Upon boarding, we were confused, as we initially believed our cruise boat would be another vessel entirely. The main photo on Tripadvisor featured the Sonesta Moon Goddess, which has balconies and higher-quality amenities, as shown in YouTube videos we had watched prior to booking. Unfortunately, the name of the actual cruise boat was not disclosed during our communication with the agency. To avoid confusion, I recommend confirming the name of the cruise boat with your agency in advance.
The M/S Nile Carnival itself was decent but dated. The cabins and communal areas could benefit from renovations.
Food & Drink:
The food was of good quality, but the selection could have been better, especially considering the package price (included private guide):
• $1,000 USD per person
• An additional $150 USD per person for the Christmas season
• A mandatory $5 USD per person per night tipping fee for the crew
Water, coffee, tea, and other beverages are not included, even during meals. Only breakfast offers complimentary coffee and tea.
Wi-Fi:
The Wi-Fi was a major disappointment. Not only was it not included in the package price, but the quality was extremely poor, even in the reception and lounge areas. It was completely unavailable in our cabin. This was surprising and frustrating given the premium price we paid.
Tipping Culture:
Be prepared to tip frequently. While tips are customary, we found it overwhelming at times. Even when booking pre-paid packages, transportation, or excursions, tips were still expected—and sometimes directly requested.
Final Thoughts
Our Nile cruise was an incredible experience overall, despite some frustrations with the boat itself. Our private guide Mustafa was amazing.
The kindness of the crew, the breathtaking scenery, and the historical sites made it worthwhile. However, next time, we’ll do more thorough research on cruise boats to ensure a better fit for our expectations.

Unforgettable Egypt
Treasures of Egypt is frankly a complete tour that we were lucky to do with our guide Ahmed who is an amazing person taking care of all we needed. He cared to know if we are comfortable in the room and was always on time. Accommodation and Food was great. Usually we are not travelling with a guide and plan the journeys and visits on our own. However not speaking the language in Egypt we thought it would be an advantage to have an organisation to fix all. We are very happy to have put our trust in Mo Luxury Tours. Also I would like to thank all the representatives and of course Ahmed for their assistance during the whole tour including the assistance at the airport. This was an outstanding service which we much appreciated. I will certainly recommend the company to others that are interested in visiting Egypt. Wonderful cruise on the Nile!
We had a fantastic holiday with Egypt Unlimited! The sites were spectacular and the tour guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on the Nile. Our guide, Ahmed Mahmoud, was very knowledgeable and gave us excellent overviews of all the sites. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. We felt very safe. We would highly recommend Egypt as a holiday destination and Egypt Unlimited as tour company. We had such a memorable holiday experience with them!

Amazing Nile Cruise
This was my first Nile cruise. I had a great time sightseeing in Egypt with Salama as my personal guide. This tour was great because I was able to avoid the hot afternoon hours and it didn't put a strain on my body. Salama also took us to Nubian Village and Abu Simbel temple as an option, which added to the excitement. I think this is a great tour. I would recommend it to everyone.

Everything was sooooo well managed and great. The guided were professional, the cruise Hapi 5 was beautiful. Especially the chief Mustafa, and the bar.M/Ahmed. Very polite and very carring. Just the season is too hot to enjoy the sundeck.

Excellent Choice
This trip was amazing. Booking through Egypt Tours made everything hassle-free 🙌. Tours if at least six ancient temples and not one if them disappointed. If you want a little dose of ancient history, thus is the tour for you.

Two Brother On the Nile Cruise with Muhammad
Everything about our trip and tour were amazing. From the airport pick until the airport drop-off. The cruise ship staff were of the highest caliber of staff one can ask for. Always at our service to meet any and all needs which we had. A traveler on this tour couldn’t ask for more. Our tour guide was Muhammad and he is a shining star. His professionalism and know-how about all things Egypts made our adventure all the more worth-while. All aspects of our trip, cruise and stay were beyond our expectations. We would recommend this trip, cruise option and especially Muhammad as your private tour guide to all who may be considering seeing Egypt via the Nile cruise. Don’t hesitate book now.

Unforgettable trip with a brilliant guide
We went on a 4 night Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan on MS Mayfair and we had an absolutely amazing trip. The boat is beautiful and the staff were fantastic, everyone was super friendly and the service was top notch, exactly what you'd expect (if not better!) from such a superb boat. Everything was spotlessly clean, the rooms and common areas were gorgeous and the sun deck was spacious with lots of little cabanas/sun beds.
Throughout the trip we had a private guide (Mohammed from Aswan) and he was fantastic. He's got many years of experience as a guide, he's a trained Egyptologist and ancient Egypt is his passion and you can see that. He's a wealth of knowledge and he was patient explaining for the 5th time which pharaoh/god was which. :) Mohammed organised the taxis/transports from the boat to each of the sites and they say everything went super smoothly. There are a lot of people who are trying to sell you things especially at the touristy sites and Mohammed treated them all with dignity and respect while keeping us comfortable, which was really nice.
We loved all the temples and we're still in awe how old, incredibly detailed and impressive they all were. The big daddy of all, Abu Simbel, was breathtaking and absolutely worth the 3hr drive there.
Overall, excellent experience organised by a professional company and a brilliant guide!

Idyllic cruise on the Nile Bride, in the company of Rajab
We had an idyllic family stay on the Nile Bride, a cruise from Luxor to Aswan thanks to Egypt Unlimited. Beautiful boat, magnificent, clean and large cabins overlooking the Nile, double bed and single beds for children, large bathroom where nothing was missing, little attentions from the crew every day and kitchen (buffet or meals served at the table) very (too!) plentiful and excellent (well done to the chef!). The staff were very friendly and the manager lovely. Small swimming pool on the top of the boat, ideal for children. We were lucky enough to make the trip with only 10 people on the boat, the dream in terms of tranquility... As for the visits, they were perfect. Our guide Rajab is a great connoisseur of Egypt, passionate about history and fascinating. It was a pleasure to have him by our side as a private guide during this stay. We recommend this cruise with our eyes closed (just remember to ask for the bottles of water normally provided each day during the visits), thank you very much to Rajab and the entire Nile Bride team for this incredible stay (memory of a lifetime! ). We come back conquered by Egypt and the kindness of its inhabitants.

Well Worth Taking this Cruise
Everything in the description of this tour came true and delivered as promised with excellent communication. That alone put this tour among our best experiences.
Private tour is the way to go. Our guide for the whole trip, Ahmed Salama was a true pro and I really liked the way he worked with the two of us to understand what was important to us to experience while setting up each day for us to maximize our Egyptian experience. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and accessible. Highly recommend him personally.
The ship crew would bend over backwards to help and all our asks were met. Final day you have the option to add a day-trip and although we were unable to do the Abu Simbel trip, he chartered a boat for us on the Nile and visited the Nubian villages which was a great, fun and relaxing way to end our journey.
Egypt overall was such a great trip I will be back next time with my kids and will again use Egypt Unlimited and Ahmed Salama. Thank you for making those memories for me and my Father.
