See the Library of Alexandria, St. Mark oldest church, the Roman amphitheater, take a walking tour in the old city center, Abbo Elabbas Mosque, Site of the Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, Quaitbay Castle photo stop, Montaza Gardens & Palaces, Stanley Bridge, and El Nabi Daniel Mosque.
Pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, Travel to Alexandria. Start the tour with the library of Alexandria; the biggest library in the world – now with 8 million books. Visit President Sadat Museum and visit the open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. Our guide will explain the design of the library from outside, you will have a chance for some photo stops. Note: Alexandria library is closed on Fridays ,Saturdays & in public holidays. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase a ticket.
Visiting the insides of the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock
You will also drive by Pompay's Pillar and stop for a photo stop, (it was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century)
We will walk by the excavation site of the Old Roman City of Alexandria, including Roman villas, the Amphitheater Ruins, Alexandria's Great Tomb excavation site, and various ruins. Please note that we will not be visiting the interior of these sites but will enjoy an external view while our guide shares insights into their historical significance.

Continue your tour by passing through the oldest market area in Mansheya and see the traditional womens’ markets (zan’et etsetat) with very thin and narrow streets, gold market also exists here where everyone buys their wedding and engagement jewellery.

The car will then transport you to the most beautiful and largest mosque in the city, allowing for a photo stop at the Abbo Elabbas Mosque.Walk by the oldest funfair in Egypt
Opposite is the corniche and the old harbour where you can see the old fishing boats, men fishing and traditional fishermen making nets. The photos taken here are amazing. Continue to see the outside of Quaitbay castle which was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria one of the seven wonders of ancient world . A most spectacular castle which is a great photo stop.
Once in Montaza Gardens, commonly known as the Love Garden (all romantic couples and families go there) you will visit the royal gardens of King Farouk (the last king in the history of Egypt) and see the royal palaces of Haramlek and Salamlek as well as walk along the famous Montaza bridge and reach the Tea Palace island and see the royal beaches of the queens. Then travel in comfort back to your hotel in Cairo.

Our guide Heba and our driver Mahmoud were very friendly and we discussed history all along the way, which is very interesting. I recommend this experience to those who have fallen family members during the Second World War in Egypt and for people who are passionate about military history.

We took a day trip to Alexandria with Mohamed, a day is not enough to see such a wonderful city but Mohamed was able to show us the main sites and give us an insight into the rich history. I would definitely recommend this trip!

The driver and the guide quite well, very friendly, but honestly Alexandria remains to duty, plus it is 3hrs from Cairo and I think you can dedicate this day to other more interesting activities in Egypt

Lovely day out to Alexandria, in an easy drive from Cairo. Much encrouge you to get out to see the Mediterranean Sea, with very different vibes to Cairo.

Nice tour. My guide Mohammad was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this tour to others. The one part I didn’t like was being taken to a cheesy and expensive souvenir shop that was not on the itinerary schedule.

We booked a day trip for Alexandria from Cairo. Communication and coordination for pick up was prompt. Mohamed Salama was our guide in Alexandria. His passion for history and hospitality is evident from the way he takes care of his guests. We are vegetarians and he ensured that we lunch at a vegetarian friendly place. Mohamed was cheerful and extremely knowledgeable not just about Alexandria but about Egyptian history in general. Mohamed is pursuing his PhD and I’m confident that Alexandria University would be lucky to have him as a Professor.

Quality of uneven visits especially the visit to the gardens of the Montaza palace at 10 dollars which is nothing extraordinary or a mosque in full works, it is however not the number lacking. We would have preferred to see the Roman amphitheater A little tiring day, more time on trips than visits
