It was a 3-day, 2-night trip, but the first and third days were 8 hours of travel, so we only had one day to sightsee.
It was a private trip and not a group tour with strangers, so it felt free.
The drive was long, so if you sleep you will be skipped for meals, so you have to tell them.
The guide and desert driver had amazing iPhone photography skills.
Tips were not included, but were expected.
It clashed with the Egyptian national character in many ways, but it was fun.

Great tour
Amazing tour! I can’t wait to go back to siwa. Mazen was a great guide and driver. We had a lot of fun. The desert safari was my favorite part and the food in siwa was great too. Hotel was nice but we weren’t able to camp.

Great experience, great trip
We were able to go to places we would never have been able to go to if we hadn't arranged a tour, and had many wonderful experiences over those three days.
At Shea Oasis, they took us deep into the ocean, where other tours don't go, and we were so happy floating in the clear, beautiful water.
We also had the best time having tea time and dinner while watching the desert sunset and the starry sky.
Our guide was about the same age as us, and we loved all the places he recommended.
He took so many wonderful photos that I'll be excited to look at again, and they're memories that I'll cherish for the rest of my life. I'm grateful for the most wonderful trip of my life.

Einmaliges Erlebnis
Beeindruckende schöne Landschaft außerhalb des grossen Tourismusgemengel. Auch wenn die Fahrt lange dauert, Tee trinken in der Wüste beim Sonnenuntergang oder schwimmen im Salzsee mitten in der Wüste entschädigt die Anstrengung. Super Organisation von der travel agency. Alles war top organisiert.

Super nice experience
The tour was planned as a group because I was the only one and the travel agency did not want to cancel the tour, so the tour with my guide Mazen took place as a private tour. Mazen gets 5 stars because he was the jack of all trades, driving, navigating, organizing tour guides and providing coffee and tea during the trip. Siwa is a wonderful place away from mass tourism from Europe or Asia, a landscape that is different to Cairo, Luxor or Hurghada. Anyone who wants to see unique salt lakes in the desert, an eastern safari with tea and sunset or the thousand-year-old Siwa fortress with the tombs in the mountain should definitely do this tour. The accommodation was also a dream, including the pool. The 9-hour drive is worth it for this beautiful area.

Excellent stay in Siwa
The stay was incredible. Thanks to Eslam for coming to pick us up at 3am at the airport and for guiding us throughout our stay. Best driver, best photographer! He found beautiful places for us at the Siwa lakes to take beautiful photos. The meals were good. Thanks also to the guides Madi for the visit to the historic town of Siwa (in French) and Mahmoud for the excursion into the desert. We had a great time in Siwa. I recommend 100%

BONNE EXPÉRIENCE A SIWA
Ce fut une très belle expérience.
Découvrir la ville de Siwa, l'oasis, le désert et surtout les lacs de sel, cet endroit est magnifique.
On a eu la chance d'avoir un bon guide, Eslam, il a été un super gentil, souriant et disponible, et c'est un bon photographe aussi. Même les autres guides qu'on a rencontré lors de ce séjour était très acceuillants et très investis.
Ce fut un séjour très agréable pour ma part.
Je remercie Luxury Tours Egypt et surtout un grand Merci à Eslam pour ces 3 jours à Siwa.

Siwa Experience
These 3 days in Siwa were magnificent. The tour of the city, the desert, the salt lakes everything was beautiful. It was a very nice experience. The lodge we stayed in was beautiful and welcoming, the room was OK.
Our guide Eslam was super cool, kind and funny. Even the other guides we met in Siwa were very accommodating and friendly.
Thanks to Luxury Tours Egypt and especially to Eslam for introducing us to this magnificent place.

Siwa is amazing
I booked the three-day Siwa oasis tour through Viator.
Let me preface this by saying that I’ve been traveling for seven out of the last eight months, and I tend to move at a fairly fast pace. I am a solo female traveler, and I ended up having a private tour (when I originally booked, it showed online that there were two others booked with me). Here’s my pros and cons list from this three day experience:
Pros:
- Siwa is absolutely beautiful. Such a great reprieve after the busy city of Cairo.
- The mountain of the dead is incredible! The pictures don’t do it justice. I was blown away by the history and magnitude of the place. Going inside the tomb was a highlight!
- Eslam took a ton of amazing pictures.
- Mohamed (who ran the Great Sand Sea portion of the tour) was one of the most amazing people I met in Egypt. He is so kind and a great conversationalist!
- The hotel is top notch. Beautiful pool; great breakfast. AC works well! Very comfortable.
- The salt lakes are mind blowing! Such beauty and so relaxing!
- Eslam made sure I was comfortable in the car with the window shade and AC. We listened to a lot of traditional Arabic music. Very cool!
Cons:
- The trip to Siwa is long. We left Cairo at 6am and didn’t arrive until after 6pm. We made one stop on the way at a beach that was way too crowded (we were there on a weekend) and dirty. Eslam said we would return on Monday to go to Cleopatra’s beach, but we didn’t. Rather, we left the hotel at 9:30 and drove straight to Cairo. No city tour in the morning.
- There was a LOT of downtime. On the full day in Siwa, I was told to eat breakfast at 8 so we could go. We didn’t leave until after 10, and we returned to the hotel at 11:45. We didn’t leave for lunch until after 4, and after “lunch” we waited for almost two hours before we went to the salt lakes. We couldn’t find the pool for the iconic picture and we didn’t get to go to Fitnas Island to watch the sunset.
- Do not expect to follow the itinerary.
To recap: Siwa was awesome. I would have loved more time there to see more. The hotel pool & breakfast were amazing! I was able to get great pictures but not all that I wanted. Lots of driving and waiting. The tour didn’t follow the itinerary but we got to do most of the things I was expecting.

Siwa is a slice of heaven, a MUST DO while you are in Egypt
Phenomenal trip. If you dont have Siwa on your itinerary PLEASE ADD IT. If you do and your unsure of your company, BOOK THIS ONE!. This entire experience from the time of booking to pick up, and drop off was seamless and extraordinary. The drive although dauntingly far is well worth every minute of the journey. Part of the reason Siwa is so special is because of it islation from the modern world. In addition, the natural beauty here is top tier. The desert safari, the salt lakes, the tea and meals shared amongst locals were all unforgettable times. Out driver was amazing as he knew all the top spots to visit and at what times of the day. He also helped us getting the best pictures. I would recommend this 10/10 to anyone and am even considering getting my parents to embark on this wonderful once in a lifetime unforgettable time. One thing to note: we werent able to camp in the desert due to the unrest in Libya right now but to be honest it was just as good having a campfire set up at sunset, a picnic and tea while we gazed stars for a few hours after the sun went down. All in all, if you are visiting Egypt, this excursion is a MUST DO!
