Karnak is een oud Egyptisch tempelgebied gelegen aan de oostelijke oever van de rivier de Nijl in Thebe (het huidige Luxor). Het beslaat meer dan 100 hectare, een gebied dat groter is dan sommige oude steden.
- Luxor Temple2 uur
De tempel van Luxor werd in de loop van honderden jaren gebouwd door Amenhotep III, Ramses II, Toetanchamon en andere farao's en was het grootste en belangrijkste religieuze centrum in het oude Egypte. In wat toen Thebe was, was de Luxor-tempel "de plaats van de eerste gelegenheid", waar de god Amon wedergeboorte beleefde tijdens de jaarlijks nagespeelde kroningsceremonie van de farao.
- Valley of the Kings3 uur
De westelijke oever van Luxor was de plaats van koninklijke begrafenissen sinds ongeveer 2100 voor Christus, maar het waren de farao's van de periode van het Nieuwe Rijk (1550-1069 voor Christus) die deze geïsoleerde vallei kozen die wordt gedomineerd door de piramidevormige bergtop van Al Qurn ( De Hoorn). Ooit de Grote Necropolis van Miljoenen Jaren van Farao genoemd, of de Plaats van Waarheid, heeft de Vallei der Koningen 63 prachtige koninklijke graven.
- Temple of Hatshepsut2 uur
Bij Deir Al Bahri richten de ogen zich eerst op de dramatische ruige kalkstenen kliffen die bijna 300 meter boven de woestijnvlakte uitsteken, om vervolgens te beseffen dat aan de voet van al deze immense schoonheid een nog buitengewooner monument ligt, de oogverblindende tempel van Hatshepsut. De bijna modern ogende tempel past prachtig bij de kliffen waaruit hij gedeeltelijk is uitgehouwen - een huwelijk gemaakt in de hemel. Het meeste van wat je ziet is nauwgezet gereconstrueerd.

Amazing Tour of Aswan, Edfu, Luxor with Ahmed
We had an amazing time with Ahmed! We would highly recommend him to anybody looking for a flexible, knowledgeable, and fun guide. He took us to do extra things, like walking tours throughout the city, and to amazing cafes and places to eat. He was always ready for us when we wanted to ask questions, or move on. It was clear he really knew what he was talking about and was passionate about his work. He was also able to read cartouche, which really was amazing when walking around the sites.

Mohamed is amazing. Made us very comfortable from the start to finish. Gave excellent explanations for all the temples including the origin, history, current state, etc. Easily one of the best guides around I'd say.

We really enjoyed visiting the beautiful temples with Ahmed. He is very knowledgeable and his explanations were very clear. He was kind and patient and certainly improved our trip in every way!

Luxor was our favorite part from a week in Egypt! Less hectic than our other stops (Cairo, Aswan) and packed with sights. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and flexible and suggested great places to eat and helped me track down a very difficult to find SD card.

My first time to Egypt was the best experience
I visited Egypt for the first time to enjoy my birthday with my wife. I didn't know what to expect. When I arrived, Azab was on time and was very knowledgeable. He made me and my wife feel very comfortable. Azab was the best. He gave the best experience we could have imagined. Azab and team were very prompt and on time all to all Temples. Azab knows his history, he was knowledgeable about the ancient Kings and Queens. I would definitely use him again. He is the best person to use in Egypt especially if you've never traveled to Egypt before. Thanks to Azab, this will not be my last visit.

Azab is family now!!!!
First time in Egypt and it definitely won't be our last. We had the pleasure of being shown Egypt from the eyes of Azab! Such knowledge, passion, and care was taken to ensure that our visit was everything we'd imagine and more. Azab shared his knowledge, love, and passion for Egypt through his storytelling as we toured Luxor. He answered questions without hesitance and made us feel welcomed to ask more questions. We quickly realized this trip without Azab would have left us questioning so many things. Azab made us feel like family. We are grateful for the time and effort he has put into his craft and would recommend him to friends, family and you! You will not regret it!!! Oh and let's not forget, he helped us capture great memories!!!

For people who want to learn more about ancient Egypt and see beautiful temples and tombs, this tour is excellent.
The tour of Luxor and Aswan were fantastic. The guide Ahmed was incredibly knowledgeable and articulate in telling me everything I wanted to know about all the sites we visited and the history behind them. Some of the best temples are in this trip with my favorite being the temple of abydos.

Great and memorable trip
Ahmed Awad is such an outstanding,knowledgeable and friendly guide.He will give a good and detailed account of all the sights we have visited.He is very patient with the elderly folks in our group.Travellers to Luxor and Aswan will not go wrong with this guide.

Cruise on River Nile
Visiting Abu Simbel temple was an awe inspiring experience! Of course with the excellent and knowledgeble tour guide (aka Ahmed Awad) explanations. Overall, I must say I enjoyed the whole tour very much with every details on history shared by Ahmed Awad. A big shout out to Ahmed Awad! A job well done! Thanks very much.
