Great tour with Khalefa
Khalefa took my daughter and me to a scented oil shop and wanted to take us to a carpet shop and papyrus and cotton shops, but we had already done some of that in Luxor and really didn’t want to do more of it. It’s really interesting to learn how papyrus paper is made but the sales pitch afterwards can be tiring, so we told him we wanted to skip all of that and he was very kind and willing to do as we wanted. I respected him for that.
Then we went to the night market and it was wonderful! Khalefa walked us through it slowly, glad to pause with us anytime we wanted to look at something. He offered to take our pictures at several especially beautiful spots, and asked our permission before taking our picture with his own phone. He answered our questions honestly about religion and anything else we wanted to know. We are vegetarians and he had several good suggestions for our supper and we were pleased with our Egyptian pizza. I would definitely book a tour with him again.

Trop rapide

Ok to see the city but lacked the wow factor
The tour was ok but having been on many market tours around the world this lacked any real excitement or anything unique. The booking was easy to do and they turned up on time, however, the tour involved being driven to the start of the market, walking through it (with little discussion or local highlights - felt like something you would do yourself and have experienced the same time). After 15 minutes of walking he asked if we wanted to try some famous coffee shop, we agreed because it felt if we didn’t it would be just going straight to dinner. It’s worth noting the coffee is paid by us (which normally in these type of tours they include little bits like this). After the coffee it was straight to dinner. While the food was decent I wouldn’t really have called it a full dinner, it was a lamb schwarma with no drink. After this we were brought back to the hotel.
It is worth noting that the guide did ask if we wanted to go to some government run tourist shops but we decided not to as we had booked this to experience the city instead of to shop.
All in all I would stay the tour is ok, but I left feeling like we didn’t really do a lot.

Good experience, dinner so so
Good experience, the walk is very nice and you can see many things. The restaurant of the dinner is not so special e the food is very turistic,

Leuke tour
De tour was leuk, en Maya, onze gids, was ongelooflijk lief en deskundig! De tour was iets lang maar ik kreeg de kans om veel over de stad te leren.
