A MUST DO ACTIVITY WHEN YOU VISIT EGYPT
We had an action packed itinerary that included sand boarding (definitely a highlight—must be fit to get back up the hill), riding through the desert dunes in a jeep (required a small upgrade fee but well worth it), visiting a waterfall in the middle of the desert (beautiful photo op) sailing a felucca (they let us take turns sailing), and viewing Mudawara mountain. We also had the chance to see some pottery at the Tunis village, visit a jewelry shop for an cartouche, and spices market. Our tour was with Amr, a lively character who made sure we had fun during our excursion. Mahmoud, our driver, got us safely and comfortably from our hotel to the national park. Overall, this was a highlight of our Egypt trip.

Fantastic Desert Day
We had a brilliant family day away from Cairo to experience the desert and oasis. Amr was an excellent guide, contacting us prior to the trip to confirm arrangements and ensuring we were happy throughout the day. He told us about the history of both Egypt in general and about the area we were visiting and we also discussed local culture. The sights themselves were magnificent and we enjoyed panoramic views, a boat trip and had a go at sandboarding or sandsledging in my case! We enjoyed a traditional lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to Cairo. Thank you Amr for a memorable day.

Attenzione: esperienza SCADENTE
Abbiamo prenotato questa attività per il nostro viaggio in Egitto a Maggio 2025.
Si è rivelata scadente. La nostra guida era improvvisata, non professionale, ci ha confermato di aver ottenuto lavoro da un suo amico perché aveva bisogno di soldi. Partendo dal viaggio: musica araba a tutto volume, poca interazione e inclusività. Spiegazioni inesistenti. Sin dall’inizio ha insistito a pagarci tutto lui, senza che li fosse chiesto, anche extra non graditi. Arrivati alle cascate nel deserto, ci ha portati in un bar, invitandoci in maniera piuttosto brusca a consumare qualcosa. Ci ha poi quasi obbligati ad acquistare dei denti di squalo. Al nostro rifiuto di comprarli, ci ha praticamente detto di farlo quasi arrabbiato. Siamo rimasti abbastanza spiazzati, considerando che ci trovavamo nel bel mezzo del deserto a 3 ore circa dal Cairo, abbiamo evitato di fare storie. Ci ha passati da un collaboratore all’altro e ognuno si aspettava mancia per qualsiasi cosa. Durante il sandboard ha praticamente fatto schiantare la mia ragazza, non spiegando nulla e finendo anche per cadere quando ci ha provato lui stesso. Molto insistente su tutte le attività. Finiamo dicendo che ci ha chiesto più volte in maniera insistite re di lasciare una recensione prima di scendere dall’auto, trovando numerose scuse per controllare cosa potessimo scrivere. Anche dopo avergli detto che non avevamo accesso ad Internet, ha addirittura offerto hotspot per forzarci a scrivere. Infine ci ha chiesto più volte se avessimo necessità di ritirare denaro per le mancie. Dunque alla fine dell’attività ha chiesto di essere pagato in parte in euro per dei denti di squalo acquistati forzatamente, oltre al pranzo, alla mancia per lui che ci ha imposto. Non siamo stati liberi di pagarlo neanche quanto noi avessimo deciso. Esperienza da dimenticare, vi prego di non farvi costringere a scrivere recensioni positive. E comunque, Viator pessimo broker da cui prenotare attività. Tutte le restanti attività prenotate con Get you guide o TripAdvisor sono andate da Dio.

Our guide, Amr took us to El Fayoum Oasis and Wadi Rayan waterfall, and from the very start, there was this instant bond. He’s warm, funny, and genuinely kind. You can tell he loves what he does, and that energy is contagious. He made us feel completely looked after, like we were his own people. He even bought us treats in the morning as we didn't have time for breakfast.
He didn’t just show us the sights, he made sure we experienced them properly. He helped us get the best views, took incredible photos (seriously, he’s got a talent for it), and always checked in to make sure we were okay. There was no rush, no stress, just good vibes and real care.
What really stood out was his honesty and the way he connected with us. It felt personal, not transactional. If we ever come back to Egypt, Amr is the first person we’d reach out to. He didn’t just guide us—he gave us memories we’ll carry for life.

A great diversion from the hustle & bustle of Cairo
A great diversion from the hustle & bustle of Cairo - it was wonderful to see a different side & pace of life in Egypt. Mina (tour guide) & Ahmad (driver) were easy going, made the tour fun & more like a road trip. Mina was full of information & historical facts that gave us a better understanding & appreciation of Egypt's history - would recommend!
