Geniet van de Machtige Nijl terwijl je op een traditionele Felucca-zeilboot vaart die tot nu toe door de oude Egyptenaren werd gebruikt. De boot is uitgerust met een badkamer en een zonnedek, waardoor het comfortabel is om tussen Aswan en Edfu te reizen. Dans als een Nubiaan terwijl je rond het kampvuur zit. Slaap onder de sterren en zwem in de Nijl. Chat met de lokale bevolking om meer te weten te komen over de Nubische cultuur en tradities. Bezoek het dorp Daraw dat beroemd is om de groentenmarkt en het centrum voor de verkoop van kamelen die uit Soedan zijn meegebracht. De Kamelenmarkt vindt elke zaterdag, zondag en dinsdag plaats. Bezoek de oude bezienswaardigheden langs de Nijl, zoals de Kom Ombo- en Edfu-tempels, en bovendien de unieke zandsteengroeve Gebel El-silsila.

Nous avons passé 3 jours et 2 nuits hors du temps avec le capitaine Tarik et Souleiman. nous avons apprécié leur gentillesse et leurs sourires. C'était magique au gré du vent sur le Nil. We had such a great time on the felluca it was really a highlight for us both, we had the boat to ourselves which was amazing. Our guides were great, and cooked fantastic meals for us, even getting to stop off at one of their homes to be cooked for by their mum! Delicious food, it was very peaceful and tranquil. we got to go to stop off at 2 temples out of peak hours, which was great. We went to a couple of islands and it was all very peaceful. We travelled a lottttt less of the Nile than we originally thought we would, we only went from aswan to komombo temple in 4 days!!! Then the rest was driven, which honestly was a bit of a shame because for 4 days I thought we could travel further by boat and cut out a lot of the driving, but instead we had a 3/4 hour drive at the end of it.. we also went to a camel farm which honestly me and Chris's weren't a fan of because we don't eat a lot of meat at home, and advocate for animal rights so what was ment to be a fun experience actually was unsettling seeing where the animals are kept and how rough the people were with them... but overall, the 4 days floating down the river slowly was very tranquil and bliss 😊

Ahmed and Waleed were our crew. Their intimate knowledge of the river and the boat were evident as we were sailed expertly downstream into the northerly wind. The food was excellent - Ahmed's cooking on the two ring gas burner outstanding, not just the quantity (enough for many hungry mouths) but the variety and quality; we wanted for nothing. Our interest in birdlife was noted and accommodated and on our first night, we moored at the end of an island, giving us great views of waders the next morning. We are both inveterate campers so adapting to boat-life was easy, helped by the luxury of an onboard toilet! Ahmed was our guide for a visit to Daraw and its camel market, his patient presence reassuring and informative, whether at the market, a juice bar, a fruit shop or a Sudanese coffee shop. The only improvement would have been to moor somewhere downstream for the second night, before darkness, rather than hurrying back towards Aswan, losing the chance of enjoying an evening stroll. We're a fit 58 and 70 year old so this sort of trip is not just for youngsters. Having considered taking a dahabiya (larger 'traditional' boat) we are delighted that we opted for the felucca and 100% sail power - as all the dahabiyas we saw were towed by tugs, a very different and less sustainable option. We'd certainly sail on a JJ Jamaica felucca agin!

Ahmed (chef) and Walid (skipper) made this 3-day trip the highlight of our Egyptian holiday! They were both charming and friendly and extremely proficient in their respective roles. My only regret is that we couldn't stay with them for longer.

Nous avons fait 2 jours en felouque en famille avec un petit de 10 ans ! C'était une expérience unique et exceptionnelle à le faire en famille. C'était un doux moment de repos, de beaux paysages ! Un moment immanquable dans la découverte de l'Égypte. Nous étions avec Youssef et Shagui ils ont été d'une gentillesse avec nous et surtout de merveilleux repas matin midi et soir ! Toute la famille recommande cette expérience !

We had 2 great days sailing ,singing , dancing , swimming , soakaing sun on the deck and eating great food on the felucca. Much better than a cruise experience..relaxed and easy paced. The staff Tariq anx Suleman were very friendly and dedicated to make our time enjoyable. I recommend .
