We had an incredible time exploring Alexandria with our guide, Mohamed Salama. As a native of Alexandria, Mohamed brought the city to life with his deep local knowledge, engaging stories, and great sense of humor. His English is excellent, and his warm, friendly personality made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Our day was packed with unforgettable stops: Montaza Gardens and Palaces, Stanley Bridge, the iconic Library of Alexandria, St. Mark’s Church (the oldest church in Africa), the site of the ancient Lighthouse (one of the Seven Wonders), the beautiful Abbo Elabbas Mosque, and many more hidden gems throughout both the old and new parts of the city. Mohamed took us to a local fish restaurant for lunch, which was authentic and delicious. He also made sure we had access to clean restrooms—our first stop was Starbucks, and the second was at the Catacombs, which were absolutely fascinating with their 3 levels of history and architecture. Although there are many street vendors and people who may approach you, simply saying “no thank you” politely was enough—Mohamed made us feel safe and comfortable the entire time. One of our favorite stops was a papyrus and souvenir shop run by wonderful local women. Mohamed guided us through it all and helped make our purchases seamless and pressure-free. We had visited Cairo and the pyramids the day before, but we genuinely enjoyed Alexandria more, thanks to the peaceful coastal vibe and Mohamed’s exceptional guiding. Mohamed was just the best tour guide! He has excellent knowledge, knows history and all the details and provided us with exciting stories about the individual sights. We felt entertained, safe and well informed throughout the whole trip. We even could made some customized changes to the itinerary - 11/10 recommend!

The tour agency coordinated with us via WhatsApp a day before the tour. The meeting point was 10 minutes away from the ship terminal. Our tour started at 8am, and we were picked up from Alexandria Port. The whole tour took 13.5 hours. Our guide, Mohamed, was knowledgeable and accommodating. We visited the Pyramid of Giza, Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum. It also included a Papyrus papyrus-making store and a small Bazaar. The cost of the tour was worth it. Overall, I would recommend this tour.
