Enjoyable small group tour from Cairo.
This is a small group tour and we were picked up at 6:45 am. We started the return journey at around 4:45 pm and we got dropped off at 8:30 pm in New Cairo. So this is going to be a long day. They charged an additional $20 for picking us up from New Cairo.
Our guide Mohammad was simply wonderful. He was full of wit and humour and that made the visit absolutely memorable. We also had a nice lunch in a good restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean.
The Historic sites in Alexandria are just ok. No comparison with Cairo. The library though is amazing and that’s a must visit. The catacombs are ok. The Turkish palace is impressive.
What makes this city different is the wind that blows in from the Mediterranean. It would have been nice if we got some time to walk beside the coastline and enjoy the breeze and soaking in the vibes. But as you can understand time is precious in the trip.
In short if you have a day to spare then it’s a good trip to have. But staying overnight and enjoying the city vibes beside the ocean is the main attraction. For historical sites it cannot beat Giza, Cairo, Aswan or Luxor.

Great experience in Alexandria but! The driver who transported our group from Cairo did not speak English!
The driver whom transported us from Cairo to Alexandria didn’t speak English at all . Which wasn’t ideal. The tour itself was great. But you request English speakers and for such a long trip made it unpleasant

Il viaggio è troppo lungo, soprattutto il viaggio in auto. I siti tranne le catacombe dove non significativo. Poteva tagliare il pranzo in quanto non era buono.

Heba was an amazing guide. She was so kind, knowledgeable and very patient. She made me and my husband feel Very safe and comfortable as we where traveling with our 3 month old child. I recommend you get her as your guide with her lovely driver mustafa (I may be spelling his name wrong) they where both very good

Questa guida è altamente professionale, incredibilmente esperta ed esperta. Attraverso le sue spiegazioni, abbiamo imparato molto sulla storia e la cultura. L'intero viaggio è stato arricchente e significativo, offrendo un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.
Un piccolo suggerimento riguarda l’organizzazione del pranzo: dato che siamo partiti la mattina presto e abbiamo fatto solo una colazione leggera, il pranzo non è stato servito fino alle 15:00, quando tutti erano abbastanza esausti. Se il pranzo potesse essere programmato un po 'prima, l'esperienza complessiva sarebbe ancora migliore.
Nel complesso, il servizio della guida era eccezionale. Con solo una leggera modifica all'orario dei pasti, sarebbe quasi perfetto!

fantastic introduction to Alexandria with a knowledgeable and funny tour guide
I really enjoyed this Day Trip to Alexandria from Cairo. The Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa were absolutely amazing and one of the standout stops for me. My personal highlight, though, was Qaitbay Citadel. Even though the ancient lighthouse is no longer there, standing near and seeing the exact site of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World was a special experience. We didn’t go inside the citadel, but this was clearly stated in the itinerary beforehand.
The guide, Mohammed was very knowledgeable and funny, and also very attentive. At lunch, we were initially seated away from the water, and when the guide noticed my disappointment, he immediately asked the restaurant to change our seats so we could enjoy the view — a small gesture that made a big difference.
There were a lot of stops, but they were all worth seeing, and the tour gave me a great overview of the city. Now I know exactly where I’d like to return and spend more time on a future visit.
Overall, great value and a fantastic introduction to Alexandria.

Mohamed is a highly professional guide and an excellent Egyptologist. His deep knowledge and clear explanations made my tour fascinating. Passionate, well-organized, and attentive, he truly brings ancient Egyptian history to life. Highly recommended.

Ottimo autista e tour...
Ottimo autista e guida turistica. C'erano alcuni posti, come la prima fermata ('il giardino') dove sento che abbiamo perso un po 'di tempo che avrebbe potuto poi essere trascorso altrove. Inoltre sarebbe stato bene se fosse stato più chiaro che la biblioteca era chiusa il venerdì - avevo 5 giorni tra cui scegliere per andare. Ma nel complesso un ottimo viaggio

Mohammed era il nostro tour...
Mohammed era la nostra guida turistica e sono così felice che abbiamo preso questo viaggio! Era super conveniente e un ottimo modo per vedere i punti salienti di Alessandria dal Cairo. Mentre cambiavamo hotel al Cairo quella notte, sono stati anche così gentili da riporre i nostri bagagli in macchina e lasciarci nella nostra nuova posizione alla fine del tour!
Alexandria era stupenda. Siamo stati fortunati ad avere calore dal sole. Il luogo di sepoltura romano è stato un punto culminante per me, e Mohammed è stato così perspicace nel portare in vita ciò che alcuni dei simboli chiave nelle tombe significavano e come stanno ancora guardando nel sito. Ha anche letto alcuni dei geroglifici.
Il pranzo andava bene. Se ti piacciono i frutti di mare, sei dentro per una delizia!
Tutte le fermate erano ben programmate e non mi sono mai sentito affrettato anche se sentivo che avevamo il tempo di vedere tutto. Mi è piaciuto anche vedere la chiesa di Street Mark e sentire parlare della sua storia.
