Una giornata ricca di nuove conoscenze e intuizioni...
Abeer è stata una guida superba che ha reso la giornata interessante e piena di nuove conoscenze e intuizioni non solo su Il Cairo e l'esperienza musulmana e copta, ma su molte altre cose di un lungo e nobile passato che si intrecciano nei posti e nelle posizioni l'uno dell'altro nella storia e nel presente. È sempre affascinante avere una guida così positiva, competente, ma soprattutto che ama il suo paese e la sua storia diversificata e il contributo al mondo. Tra i molti momenti memorabili, forse uno dei migliori è stato sedersi in un caffè in un mercato tradizionale, bevendo tè alla menta, chiacchierando e osservando il mondo che passa. Questa è una delle memorie con cui concludo la giornata, con una nuova apprezzamento per una storia e una narrazione di cui ora mi rendo conto di sapere molto poco. Devo anche dire una parola di apprezzamento per l'autista che era silenzioso, cortese, ma incredibilmente coraggioso nel traffico in un momento che sembrava fuori controllo. Eppure, sembrava essere in totale controllo. Questa è stata una delle mie migliori esperienze in tour.

Great day exploring old Cairo
Our family group of 3 had the pleasure of being on this private tour today with our guide, Mohamed Elshemei. I checked the reviews carefully before deciding on GEM, and after going on it, am very pleased with my decision and how everything turned out.
Before we started, Mohamed adjusted the itinerary to fit our needs (we had already visited one of the sites, so he took us to an another historic mosque as a substitution). We were picked up promptly at our hotel by the driver and Mohamed in a touring van. The vehicle was clean and spacious, and our driver safely and expertly navigated us.
Throughout the tour, Mohamed provided a wealth of information on the religious history and practices of the local people. He also tied together many of the stories we had heard from our other tours in Egypt so that we had the context for what we were seeing.
He also took us through the main market, warning us about the quality of items and need to negotiate strongly. He let us stop whenever we wanted. However, we viewed it mainly as an experience just to walk through the market, but we also stopped at a "no haggle" store (at Mohamed's guidance). There was zero pressure to buy, but it was a nice, low stress way to shop for some last-minute souvenirs with low prices marked on all items.
Finally, we had a nice lunch at a cafe in the Coptic area--falafel, shwarma, etc. Based on menu prices, it should have been much less than the $15 per person we paid to add lunch, but not a huge deal in the big picture.
Overall it was a great day.

Great day in old Cairo
From start to finish, this was a great day! Farha was an exceptional guide. Very knowledgeable, polite, and patient. We had to deal with prayer times and she managed the time well while we were waiting. I would recommend her for your tour needs if want hassle free, punctuality, and experience. Must do! Tailored experience
I had throughly enjoyed my day exploring Cairo with Mira! Despite my last minute changes to the pick-up location, Mira and the driver arrived on time ready to go. I learned so much about the history and cultural significances of the sights visited and as a plus, Mira is a very talented photographer and offered to take lots of wonderful photos. Mira truly listened to what I was hoping to get out of my experience and tailored it exactly to my needs, I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. If you book this tour, make sure you ask for Mira!

Islamic and Coptic Cairo Tour
Our guide Mira was well informed, very polite and spoke English fluently. However we do recommend fact checking some of the information, as with any guide there is inherent bias. We did enjoy the tour but towards the end it felt like she was fading and she did not take us inside the second mosque. Also we did not get to do the promised itinerary because the synagogue was closed. We had an unexpected visit to an essential oil place and after that we decided to skip the bazaar part of the itinerary. I think the tour was expensive for what it offered.

Esperienza incredibile esplorando Il Cairo
Il nostro tour attraverso il Cairo copto e islamico è stato onestamente uno dei punti salienti del nostro viaggio. Ahmed era una guida incredibile – la sua conoscenza della storia egiziana è davvero impressionante, e ha portato tutto alla vita in un modo così coinvolgente. Non sembrava un tour tipico; sembrava di camminare attraverso la storia con qualcuno che lo conosce e lo ama veramente.
Ciò che ha davvero spiccato è come sia andato oltre i fatti e le date, condividendo storie e intuizioni culturali che hanno fatto sentire ogni luogo significativo. Il modo in cui ha collegato diverse religioni e periodi storici ha aggiunto uno strato più profondo all'esperienza.
Una menzione speciale anche al nostro autista, che ha fatto scorrere l’intera giornata senza intoppi. Guidare al Cairo può essere frenetico, ma ci siamo sentiti completamente sicuri e confortevoli per tutto il tempo, e tutto era perfettamente cronometrato tra le fermate.
Entrambi insieme hanno reso l'esperienza senza soluzione di continuità, piacevole e senza stress. Se state pensando di prenotare questo tour, lo consiglio al 100% — ha reso l’intera esperienza molto più speciale.

Een fantastische dag in Caïro, vol historie
We werden keurig op tijd opgehaald door onze gids Farah. Onze chauffeur heeft de hele dag keurig gereden door het soms chaotische Cairo. We hebben genoten van de uitleg die Farah ons gaf en ze luisterde goed naar onze wensen. Ze heeft ons ook naar een heerlijk restaurant gebracht en maakte leuke gezinsfoto’s van ons.
