Overview

Experience the largest museum of ancient Egyptian art with its treasures of Egypt’s great past, such as the high-quality tomb goods. Our tour guide will humorously explain the most important exhibits in a two-hour stay and answer your questions. Marvel at the last existing wonder of the world - a fabulous experience! A total of three pyramids can be found here : the Chephren, the Cheops and the Mykerinos pyramid. You can discover the terrain on foot, horseback or on camel for yourself. After visiting the pyramids of Giza, you will head to the Great Sphinx, by far the largest and most preserved sphinx. It consists of a human head on a lion's body. The sphinx was hewn from the remains of a limestone hill that served as a quarry for the Cheops pyramid. Felukenfahrt on the Nile. In consultation with the tour group for a fee.

What you'll see

  1. Sharm El Sheikh
    Full day

You will be picked up from your hotel around 4am. Upon arrival in Cairo, your tour guide will meet you and accompany you throughout the tour. Meet your Egyptological tour guide at the museum to start your day. Visit the state-of-the-art Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the largest archaeological museum in the world with over 100,000 artifacts, or the Ancient Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. Select your preferred museum during the booking process. Afterwards, enjoy your lunch. The further course of the excursion will take you to the great pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. The pyramid tour ends at the Sphinx and the temple in its vicinity. If time permits, you will have the opportunity to drive to Cairo Bazaar at the end of the day before returning to Sharm el Sheikh. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be driven to your hotel in an air-conditioned car.

  2. Khan Al-Khalili Bazaar
    1 hour

When returning from Cairo in the late evening, we will spend some time visiting medieval London (Khan el Klalili Market), Old Cairo, recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, or Cairo Festival City, an extra-large shopping mall (air-conditioned), one of the largest in the Middle East. Full of the most famous international brands, restaurants, cafés and a giant dancing fountain, where you'll be drawn to Cairo's chic, modern nightlife.

  3. Cairo
    Pass by

If we have time, we can make two characteristic visits to the Papyrus Museum and the Essential Oils Factory. These two attractions will introduce you to ancient Egyptian techniques for making papyrus and essences. These two interesting visits expand your knowledge of daily life in ancient Egypt and are also helpful for the Egyptian farmers who work in these sectors and preserve these very ancient handicrafts from ancient Egypt. Amazing day trip to Cairo & great value

Well organised trip that is great value - a must do if you’re staying in Sharm. I highly recommend it! Got picked up about 4am and taken to the airport (note that if you haven’t already purchased a visa then you will need one before you fly) short 1 hour flight to Cairo where we met our driver (Mohammed) and guide for the day (Ahmed). We also met the rest of our group which was only 7 of us in total so a nice group size. First stop was pyramids which were amazing, might be one of the best things I’ve ever seen and would recommend going just to see these! Ahmed was great in explaining the history and construction and we had a good few hours to explore these. You have the opportunity here to do a camel ride for an extra charge if you’re interested. Next stop was the oils/essence experience. Here you are shown different types of essences and then given the opportunity to buy these. Personally I could have done without this but others on the trip purchased some items so maybe just a personal taste After this we went to lunch which by that point was well needed! The food wasn’t that great but we were so hungry we just made do. After this we went to a papyrus shop - this time no one in our group bought anything so not sure if this is for everyone. After the shop we headed to the museum which was really interesting. Best part was Tutankhamen room although bear in mind you’re not allowed to take photos in this room! Next was Nile cruise which is also an additional charge - this part was nice and relaxing after what had already been a long day by this point, personally I’d of liked this to be longer. Finally we were driven the old town and Ahmed took us exploring the narrow and very busy streets! This was a great part of the day but could be a bit stressful for anyone who doesn’t like large crowds. We were then taken to the airport and we were grateful for our driver to stop at McDonald’s on the way back so that we could have some dinner! Arrived back at our hotel around 11:30pm, so a realllllly long day (about 20 hours) but a really great day nonetheless. Overall I’d definitely recommend this trip, just be wary of how long of a day it is. Make sure to bring spending money as you will need it if you want to do the camel ride/nile cruise etc. I think there are some parts that could be taken out/shortened to make the day shorter but that might just be my personal taste. My final tip is to definitely book via Book Tour Egypt vs Tui as it’s several hundred pounds cheaper!! Ahmed was excellent throughout the day and kept up his energy and enthusiasm even whilst he was fasting. He was also good in keeping sellers/beggers away from the group so we felt very safe with him.

Organised trip. Good value.

Well organised trip. Good communication from the operator. Flights on time. Great to have everything organised prior with entrance fees included to main attractions. Food lovely on the trip. Extras to pay for are the camels & the Nile cruise. These are optional but would definitely recommend. Only negatives were the oil factory & papyrus. If you're into that then it's interesting. I would have preferred a longer cruise on the Nile instead.

Amazing

Booked the two tour with overnight accommodation and what a tour! Excellent and prompt communication whilst booking which was reflected with on time pick up and drop off. Everything clearly communicated and ran like clock work. Khalid and Schumacher (our driver) were both friendly, kind, respectful and knowledgeable. Allowed us to savour all of Cairo’s beauty, charm and landmarks in two days. Highlight was obviously The Great Pyramid of Giza but we were also able to visit the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum. Came away with an amazing amount of knowledge which we would not have been able to gather on our own. I loved that we were able to experience a taster of Cairo via the River Nile, visiting the mosque. Hanging church and market. We left Cairo with a full belly and full heart. Highly recommend the two day tour. Thank you for organising an unforgettable tour.

Amazing day

From start to finish the day was extremely well organised. We felt safe and very well informed by our extremely knowledgeable guide who made sure we saw all the highlights and had the best possible experience. Our driver was always exactly where we needed him to be and we made several stops for food and drink whenever we needed. Cairo is a crazy place, and we squeezed a lot into our day, but the experience felt easy and straightforward. My two children (12 and 16) really enjoyed the day and my husband said it was one of the best days of his life as he’s always had an ambition to see the pyramids. I would totally recommend this experience.

Trip with son

Well organised from start to finish. Picked up from hotel. Easily found guide at Cairo. Excellent guide, he was really knowledgable. Excellent driver, how he got us from a to b without crashing was amazing. Once in a lifetime opportunity for me and and my son, and we enjoyed every minute of it

It’s a very long day!!...

It’s a very long day!! Cairo is mad! The driver is worth every penny. Be prepared to say NO, you will be asked for extra. You can do an optional horse or camel ride near the pyramids, but you will then be asked to TIP.

Excellent trip and service!

Last week, my friends and I visited Cairo by plane. From the beginning, booking the trip was easy and smooth, with excellent communication throughout. Upon landing, we were warmly welcomed by our tour guide, Khaled. Khaled's extensive knowledge and ability to answer all our questions impressed us greatly. What we appreciated the most was his engaging way of sharing information, which was easy for both us and our kids to understand. He even followed up with questions to ensure we had memorised the details, a brilliant method for engagement! We loved that we could openly discuss with Khaled what we wanted to see and what we preferred to skip, allowing him to personalise our experience. We truly felt that he was dedicated to us and made every effort to meet our expectations. We will definitely recommend this company to our friends and family, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful day trip in Cairo. Thank you, Khaled, for the brilliant memories!
