Overview

Experience the largest museum of ancient Egyptian art with its treasures of Egypt’s great past, such as the high-quality tomb goods. Our tour guide will humorously explain the most important exhibits in a two-hour stay and answer your questions. Marvel at the last existing wonder of the world - a fabulous experience! A total of three pyramids can be found here : the Chephren, the Cheops and the Mykerinos pyramid. You can discover the terrain on foot, horseback or on camel for yourself. After visiting the pyramids of Giza, you will head to the Great Sphinx, by far the largest and most preserved sphinx. It consists of a human head on a lion's body. The sphinx was hewn from the remains of a limestone hill that served as a quarry for the Cheops pyramid. Felukenfahrt on the Nile. In consultation with the tour group for a fee.

What you'll see

  1. Sharm El Sheikh
    Full day

You will be picked up from your hotel around 4am. Upon arrival in Cairo, your tour guide will meet you and accompany you throughout the tour. Meet your Egyptological tour guide at the museum to start your day. Visit the state-of-the-art Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the largest archaeological museum in the world with over 100,000 artifacts, or the Ancient Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. Select your preferred museum during the booking process. Afterwards, enjoy your lunch. The further course of the excursion will take you to the great pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. The pyramid tour ends at the Sphinx and the temple in its vicinity. If time permits, you will have the opportunity to drive to Cairo Bazaar at the end of the day before returning to Sharm el Sheikh. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be driven to your hotel in an air-conditioned car.

  2. Khan Al-Khalili Bazaar
    1 hour

When returning from Cairo in the late evening, we will spend some time visiting medieval London (Khan el Klalili Market), Old Cairo, recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, or Cairo Festival City, an extra-large shopping mall (air-conditioned), one of the largest in the Middle East. Full of the most famous international brands, restaurants, cafés and a giant dancing fountain, where you'll be drawn to Cairo's chic, modern nightlife.

  3. Cairo
    Pass by

If we have time, we can make two characteristic visits to the Papyrus Museum and the Essential Oils Factory. These two attractions will introduce you to ancient Egyptian techniques for making papyrus and essences. These two interesting visits expand your knowledge of daily life in ancient Egypt and are also helpful for the Egyptian farmers who work in these sectors and preserve these very ancient handicrafts from ancient Egypt. (These visits depend on the time remaining.)

Excellent Day Trip!

This is a great trip if you want to visit the pyramids and museum, but needs a few tweaks. Book Tour Egypt will send you a what’s app around 3 weeks before. The communication is excellent, they reply straight away with any questions you may have. You receive your flight tickets on what’s app the day before you fly. No need to print them off, just show them at the check in desk. 4am pick up was on time from the hotel, 6am flight was on time and on arrival at Cairo there is someone with a sign outside the main door. It was an easy process and we collected our guide Ahmed on route. First stop pyramids - we spent around 2.5 hours here. You hop on and off a bus service which stops 2-3 times before getting to the main pyramids. We started with 30min camel ride with spectacular views and great photography opportunities. You were not hassled by any street vendors and it was just a couple of people selling a few bottles of water. It was clean and tidy which I wasn’t expecting. We then finished off by walking down to sphinx and onto the main road. We then stopped at a perfume shop for 30 min. You aren’t pressured to buy but this part didn’t interest me at all. Then lunch, basic buffet and you should find something you like. This restaurant had great pyramid views. Then we visited in essence a paper shop, they show you how old Egyptian paper is made and you look around the shop. This lasted 15min and again it didn’t interest me. Then the Cairo museum. We spent 90minutes here which was nowhere near enough time to look around, Ahmed was great though, he showed us round all the main artefacts and then we had 30minutes to look on our own. Tutankham’s mask is still there but a lot of his treasures have been moved to the new museum. We then had a 30minute Nile cruise which was a nice rest before going to the Cairo bazaar. This part I did not like, we spent 1 hour walking with an armed security man around the busy market streets with everyone hassling you to buy! We ended up sitting in a cafe as it got too much and didn’t feel particularly safe. This was the end of the trip. We then had a spare hour or so where we went to McDonald’s, before being driven to the airport for 6:30pm for our 9pm flight. I can’t complain as the bits I didn’t like were in the itinerary, however I think more time in the Egyptian museum would have been better than sitting in McDonald’s for an hour. Overall a great trip which I 100% recommend. We got our visas before be left the uk via the website. This I recommend as it saves any hassle when you arrival at the airport. Good points - Ahmed (guide), pyramids, camel ride, sphinx, museum, communication, pick up. Bad points - the Cairo bazaar, perfume and paper shop! I will rate this 4/5 stars as more time in the museum was needed and also the above bad points!

Cario and the Pyramid experience

Well the excursion.... what can I say. 10/10 on all aspects. From the booking of the trip to the final taxi ride home, everything was perfect. Also congratulations with your employees. The entire team from the taxis drivers to the egyptologist were professional, courteous, respectful, Knowledgeable gentleman. This is the first time using this company and I will NEVER book with another company. I can not express how amazing and customer focused your team are. My partner and I are both mature travellers and this is the best organised tour we have done. EXCELLENT 10/10 customer satisfaction. Thank you so much for an amazing day.

Sights, information galore and fantastic guide!

Absolutely fabulous trip from start to end! We were picked up on time and transferred straight to the airport, check in was simple and fast. You get a snack on the plane and once we landed Ahmed was there ready for a day packed full of activities. Ahmed was so informative and let us know about all additional fees if we wanted to do them. The pyramids were spectacular and Ahmed’s knowledge was just insane. He also got us in places were weren’t allowed as he knows all the staff so well. We enjoyed the trip down the Nile where our children got to steer the boat and the lunch buffet was very tasty. We visited two shopping places - a traditional bizar which we had our own security guard guiding us around and then a modern shopping mall. Transfer back to our hotels was also very simple. Our only suggestion for improvement is to offer an earlier flight home and maybe omit the modern mall although this was useful to pick up a quick snack before the plane.

Amazing trip to Cairo

The entire day went smoothly from start to finish. Pick up was easy and and there was no stress with making the flight. The guide was waiting for us on arrival and was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave us advice on what to do when around the pyramids and Cairo. The guide was amazing from start to finish, super knowledgeable and helpful. There was no rush to the day meaning we were able to do everything we wanted and had sufficient time at each destination. Can’t reccomend enough. Never known an excursion go above and beyond like this one.

5/5 couldn’t fault them

Before the experience even truly starts they were very good at communicating through WhatsApp, explaining what you need, flight times, pick up times ect. Mario our tour guide was amazing we had a wonderful time. Plenty of time at the pyramids, and free time to wonder around yourselves. Not rushed at all. Then went to the perfume factory, tried some hibiscus tea and heard about their products. Then had lunch at a buffet with a view of the pyramids, food selection was very good. Then went to the papyrus shop and then to the museum, again had plenty of time and free time to ourselves. We finished with a cruise on the river Nile. Mario was wonderful and incredibly knowledgable, provided lots of tips and facts about Egypt, the best places to take photos too and where you can access. Having your own car to get around was also very handy, as you’re able to leave your bags in there. Highly recommend :)

Informative and fun

We really enjoyed it. We particularly enjoyed the River Nile trip, the buffet, the Giza tour and the perfume workshop. Our tour guide Fahme was a friendly individual who welcomed us and was happy to take any questions. I also have to mention a special thanks to the driver who drove us around Cairo as he was so polite and kept opening the doors for us to enter (we were grateful!) Both of us were very happy with the service and would like to thank all involved again. 🙂

IMPECCABLE DAY! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND!

It was an impeccable journey! I highly recommend this agency! I am usually very wary but they surprised me with their perfect organization, punctuality, competence and availability! We were followed in every step, we were always in touch. I travelled alone with my 8 year old so I was hesitant but thanks to Mohamed (our driver) and Ahmed (the guide) it was an unforgettable adventure and first of all we felt safe! The trip definitely to do! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND!
