Overview

Experience the largest museum of ancient Egyptian art with its treasures of Egypt’s great past, such as the high-quality tomb goods. Our tour guide will humorously explain the most important exhibits in a two-hour stay and answer your questions. Marvel at the last existing wonder of the world - a fabulous experience! A total of three pyramids can be found here : the Chephren, the Cheops and the Mykerinos pyramid. You can discover the terrain on foot, horseback or on camel for yourself. After visiting the pyramids of Giza, you will head to the Great Sphinx, by far the largest and most preserved sphinx. It consists of a human head on a lion's body. The sphinx was hewn from the remains of a limestone hill that served as a quarry for the Cheops pyramid. Felukenfahrt on the Nile. In consultation with the tour group for a fee.

What you'll see

  1. Sharm El Sheikh
    Full day

You will be picked up from your hotel around 4am. Upon arrival in Cairo, your tour guide will meet you and accompany you throughout the tour. Meet your Egyptological tour guide at the museum to start your day. Visit the state-of-the-art Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the largest archaeological museum in the world with over 100,000 artifacts, or the Ancient Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. Select your preferred museum during the booking process. Afterwards, enjoy your lunch. The further course of the excursion will take you to the great pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. The pyramid tour ends at the Sphinx and the temple in its vicinity. If time permits, you will have the opportunity to drive to Cairo Bazaar at the end of the day before returning to Sharm el Sheikh. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be driven to your hotel in an air-conditioned car.

  2. Khan Al-Khalili Bazaar
    1 hour

When returning from Cairo in the late evening, we will spend some time visiting medieval London (Khan el Klalili Market), Old Cairo, recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, or Cairo Festival City, an extra-large shopping mall (air-conditioned), one of the largest in the Middle East. Full of the most famous international brands, restaurants, cafés and a giant dancing fountain, where you'll be drawn to Cairo's chic, modern nightlife.

  3. Cairo
    Pass by

If we have time, we can make two characteristic visits to the Papyrus Museum and the Essential Oils Factory. These two attractions will introduce you to ancient Egyptian techniques for making papyrus and essences. These two interesting visits expand your knowledge of daily life in ancient Egypt and are also helpful for the Egyptian farmers who work in these sectors and preserve these very ancient handicrafts from ancient Egypt. It was a great pleasure for us to meet and be entertained by Fahmy. He is a very nice and enjoyable person. The whole day he was taking care of us with care as we were his children. He explained us very well all the Egyptian history and we have been very grateful. The timing and program were perfect. We liked the restaurant view Andrew the food as well. Fahmy explained us a lot of interesting facts even he showed us videos and examples. We have been really impressed with his attitude, knowledge and the way he leading the whole day. He is really great person and he is the right person for this job. All of us 19 people loved him and the whole possitive experience we had yesterday is on 100 % because of him. He is really great employee of yours. We do not want just our time to passed but he wanted the time to passed with good impression of everybody and we to enjoy it. A must trip!

An amazing trip! Went for the later time of 6:00am pick up. All went very smoothly from getting help with visas at the airport, transfers and the trip itself. Our guide Ezzat was very knowledgable and great company. If we are being totally honest the side visits to the oil / perfume shop and papaya shop weren’t necessary though and there was pressure to buy ( but we didn’t) That aside we would thoroughly recommend Cairo by plane.

Lots of issues

We chose the 7am start time as 4am felt very early. Pickup was on time at 7.45 with a flight time of 9.45. This part went smoothly and I was pleased I had picked up my visa when I arrived at sharm. Please note that they have increased the dollar prices for visas to $30. I happened to have both euros and dollars and paid €75 which worked out cheaper. Clearly a grift at the airport so call their bluff. Connecting with our tour guide Mr Fahmi was easy. WhatsApp is a god send in this situation. On the ride into Cairo the guide was in our minibus and collected the optional river cruise money. I must explain that the way he said it was not optional. We would have done it so I'm not that fussed but can understand others feeling pressured into purchase. First stop the old Egyptian museum. Of all the museums in the world. This was the one I wanted to spend some time in. Lots of history. Unfortunately the artifacts are being moved to the new museum including the star attraction. Not the fault of the tour group. The place felt like a house move with lots missing. Also we only spent an hour in here. Wow. I've spent longer looking at fast food menu's. We then headed over to the pyramids of Giza. By now the time was 3pm and the itenery includes a lunch. We had a 5 year old with us. Given the start time we had breakfast at 7am and it's getting overdue for her to have something for lunch. There was also another couple with two younger kids also getting anxious about feeding the little ones. The Giza experience was generally good. Again another grift from our guide. To go to a viewing platform you need to ride a camel or horse drawn carriage. This cost $20 dollars per adult. Which the guide collects and those who don't want to are abandoned at a service area for 30 mins. We took up the ride and arrived back and went to the shops to see if we could buy some actual food for my daughter. Nope, best we could get was some nuts and an ice cream. We had to give her something so we did. Then headed over to the pyramids. This was cool and headed down to the sphinx. the time was now 5.30 at which point even our guide was exhausted. We headed out to finally eat. The food was nice but would have been welcomed 4 hours earlier. Then the standard tour grift began. We were taken to a fragrance store. Sat down to be worked on. We made it clear to sales team that we didn't want to buy anything. Our group were split up here. When we came out of the store we discovered that the guide had abandoned us and taken the Bulgarian group to the next papyrus store. This really shocked me as we were now out in the street with beggars surrounding us. I've seen this poverty before but it was a new experience for our daughter. It's heartbreaking to see and confusing for a child. Unacceptable on a tour. Next was the papyrus store by which point our guide knew we were not happy. So essentially avoided us. After this came the boat cruise and walk in the bazaar. Both nice. The bazaar was a little long and even the Bulgarians were telling the guide to wrap it up. Several people asked about toilets after the boat ride and the only offering was right at the end of the bazaar walk for us to go against a roadside wall. This is unacceptable. Really bad. I'm not going to get my daughter to go against a wall exposed to the public. NO! Some of the boys and adults went to relieve themselves and the minivan to the airport stunk of urine. I don't want to be completely negative about our guide. But he should have recognised that with kids in the group that timing of food and toilet stops are key. What made things worse was that there was an Italian couple with us who had the other guide exclusivly and didn't sell them the camel ride at the pyramids or the visit fragrance store. Took them inside one of the pyramids for free. The tour operator request the age of children and know that there are children in the group. The itenary should have been 1. Pyramids 2. Lunch 3. Museum. 4. Boat 5. Bazaar. I'm fine with resting and stopping along the way. And to confirm I did still leave a tip for Mr Fahmi.

Absolutely Amazing Cairo Experience!

Our tour in Cairo was truly incredible from start to finish! Everything was very well organized and ran smoothly the entire day. The communication with the company was excellent — they kept us informed in advance about what to expect and what we needed to do, which made everything so easy and stress-free. Our guide picked us up right at the airport, and we went straight to see the Pyramids of Giza, which was an unforgettable experience! After that, we enjoyed a delicious lunch with a stunning view of the pyramids, followed by a visit to the Egyptian Museum and a relaxing Nile cruise. We even had some free time to explore a shopping center before heading back to the airport. Everything was perfectly timed and well coordinated, and our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cairo — it’s the perfect way to see the highlights in one smooth, enjoyable day!

Such an amazing trip with Mario, we’d highly recommend!

The trip was booked online and we were contacted via WhatsApp with a payment link for the deposit. A member of BTE visited us in our hotel to collect the remainder of the balance. Confirmation of the flights were sent via WhatsApp. We paid for a visa a few days before at Sharm el sheikh airport when we initially landed and paid $25 in cash. On the day of the trip we collected our boarding passes at the desk. When we arrived at Cairo, our English speaking tour guide Mario was waiting for us. We were initially joined with a group that spoke Spanish, however we were separated throughout the day and met at certain points. Mario was so knowledgable and explained everything perfectly. He was very patient with us and we really appreciated his service! If you’re lucky enough to be guided by Mario you’ll have a wonderful trip!

Nice excursion

Very nice excursion with a great guide passionate and speaking French. Only negative, we wasted too much time in less important places and could only see the pyramids and the sphinx too quickly and in backlight (so for the photos it was a bit missed).

Excellent Organisation

It is rare I give 5 stars, but this team excelled. One of the most organised and enjoyable experience's I've even had. The organisation was seamless and we were under the supervision of various guides constantly, always safe and never hassled. I had a breakfast box provided by my hotel, so you might consider something similar, as only lunch is included, which was ok. All excursions were well worth it and I did pay the extra for a short boat ride on the Nile, which was a welcome rest. I tipped 200 Egyptian at various points I and others felt the Oil's and Papyrus shops were a complete waste of time. Otherwise a most excellent trip 10/10
